About the neighborhood
Vinohrady is a beautiful residential area of Prague that carries a reputation of prestige and elegance. It covers portions of Prague 2, 3, and 10. Most of its grand Neo-Renaissance, Art Nouveau, Pseudo Baroque, and Neo-Gothic buildings come from the second half of the 19th century and first half of the 20th century. Many have been and continue to be restored in an amazing array of color and architectural detail.

My partner and I had a great experience during our three days in Prague where we stayed at Elema Residence. We'd been traveling around Europe and trying to stick to a relatively strict budget. For the price, our one bedroom flat at Elema was by far the best bargain we got over our four country and two week trip. They even offered taxi service to and from the airport (25 Euros, which was probably slightly more expensive than hailing a cab on our own, but the lack of hassle was well worth it for us). There was something available to meet us when we arrived in the evening (Christina). She explained everything, showed us our flat, and answered our questions. The space was great for two people, with a nice bed (queen size, I think), a spacious bathroom, and a kitchen that had a stove and refrigerator so we even cooked a little during our stay. The only thing that was a tad frustrating was that the internet was pretty slow (we tried a lot of different options that they gave us but none were all that great and we kept getting kicked off -- we also didn't bring this up with anyone to give them the opportunity to fix it so my star rating won't reflect this). The flat was located in Prague's second district, about a two block walk away from the nearest Metro station. There were numerous restaurants and markets within walking distance that were quite affordable (IF Cafe 2 coffee shop is an absolute MUST to try out) in what was otherwise a residential neighbourhood. I will definitely consider Elema Residence for my next trip to Prague and really appreciate the comfort they provided on this leg of my trip. Thanks!

When we arrived, we were upset to discover that the apartment booked was not the one in the photo but a room underground, without real windows and with a strong noise of ventilation. Hopefully, for the second night, we argued and managed to get the apartment seen on the photo. Not a good experience.

Elema's Residence was lovely when it came to the location and space. The apartment is true to the pictures. It was bright, clean and well equipped. In terms of connectivity as well it was a 15 minute walk to the centre and there are nice neighbourhood restaurants around. We had a few good meals at Zanzibar in the nearby square and the Tavern an organic burger joint. The downside to the stay though was that, since it was a service apartment it lacked a personal touch. Also we asked to book a cab at 4 am to the bus station with Tereza our host only to realise that we were being charged 15 euros (405 czk) as opposed to 150 czk that we paid with AAA a leading radio cab. Being new to a city it does not feel nice to be taken for a ride like this. Also being August it was very hot and upon requesting a table fan and offering to pay for it, we didn't hear back from the host even though she did say we could reach us at any point in time if need be. Overall the space was pleasant though so to sum up what we have to say is that it was a great place but we did feel a little cheated because of the way the management handled it.

We had a great stay at Elema Residence! The apartment was very clean and spacious and had everything we needed. It was in a great location, close to the city centre. Check in and check out was easy and Tereza was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again!

The given apartment wasn't the apartment on the pictures. We didn't realize it back at the time because it was still wonderful. Tereza welcomed us warmly, explained us everything we asked and gave us some advices and tips about the city, its beers and its restaurants :). She was also available for further questions if we would need it. The apartment itself was OK, actually everything we wanted: a bed, a kitchen (integrated in the bedroom) and two separated rooms for bathroom and shower. Although it was sometimes a little bit loud, it didn't bother us too much. The neighborhood was pretty OK, very close to Prague's center (we almost exclusively walked) and with many bars, restaurants, supermarkets and such. It is also very well located from the touristic point of view: not only is the downtown quickly reachable, but also the metro station IP Pavlova (in case you want to go a little bit further) or the emblematic Vyšehrad fort. All in all a good stay for a fair price which we will consider again in case of a further visit to Prague. PS: Making a quick research, I realize the apartment we were given was this one: https://www.airbnb.es/rooms/157569 , which is even a little bit more expensive.
