About this listing
We are offering a contemporary studio apartment on a quiet street and close to central Kopavogur. 5 minutes walk is a bus stop with direct buses to Reykjavik, which will get you there in 10 minutes, 5 minutes by car.
The apartment is located at the back of our single-storey house and has a private entrance. The bedroom contains a new king-size bed and a built in wardrobe. The apartment is equipped with a modern bathroom (bath, shower, sink and WC) and a pantry kitchen for simple cooking. It has basic kitchen utensils and appliances like fridge, microwave, table grill, coffee maker, kettle and toaster. All towels and bed linen are provided. We also offer free WIFI access as well as the use of laundry facilities, iron and ironing board if required. Other facilities include a garden with a BBQ grill and a decked area with a hot tub that is great for sunbathing if the weather is good.
The house is located in a quiet neighbourhood and next to the iconic Kopavogskirkja, the oldest church in Kopavogur (no graveyard). It is located on a hill and offers a fantastic view over Kopavogur, Reykjavik and surrounding area. On a clear sunny day, you can even see the Snæfellsnes glasier, located around 100 km away! The apartment is situated within a 5 minute walk from the main street in Kopavogur, where you will find a library, bank, pharmacy, food shops, bakery, swimming pool and the main bus station of Kopavogur (called Hamraborg). The latter provides excellent bus services to all parts of Reykjavik and beyond. The best way to get here from the Keflavik airport is to take the Flybus to the Reykljavik BSI (main bus terminal) and then catch the #1 bus to Hamraborg (10 minute ride). We are happy to pick you up from the Reykjavik BSI or drop you off when you leave (depends on arrival/ departure time). If you arrive by car there is on street parking available.
We are a friendly couple and as we live in the same building, we are happy to help with any enquires or suggest places of interest to visit. We look forward to welcoming you to Kopavogur and Iceland.
Thank you all so much for letting us stay in your apartment it was perfect! From the warm welcome to the great tips on where to go, we couldn't have been happier! The apartment was in a perfect location, close enough to Reykjavik that you could be in down town in minutes but far enough away that you didn't feel like you were staying in a chaotic down town environment. We loved staying there and would recommend it, and would love to stay again some day! Once again thank you so much!

My wife and I (and 6-month old girl) had a wonderful stay at Sigurþór's apartment. He met us with his wife Mila at the Hamraborg bus stop and him and I walked to their home/studio apartment with the baby and stroller while my wife drove with our Mila and our luggage to the house. The walk took just over 5 minutes. The apartment was great, small and neat, and in a quiet location. We enjoyed the hot tub our first evening and Sigurþór brought us an Icelandic malt beverage with 2 cups on a platter for us to enjoy, which was great. Our whole trip was fantastic and we hope to stay here again if we ever travel through Iceland again. This couple is incredibly helpful and hospitable, and the location is great for exploring Reykjavik. The local pool was also wonderful, and less than 5 minutes away walking. We have nothing but good things to say about our stay :-)
We had a great time staying in the guest house! Everything was as described and the hosts were very helpful. Our trip to Iceland was wonderful and staying in this wonderful location made all of our plans possible.
My wife and I stayed at Sigurþór's onour vacation to Iceland this summer. It was a very nice experience. We had our own entrance to a lovely little neat and tidy studio apartment with bath and kitchenette (including fridge), completely separate from the rest of the house. Shopping and dining opportunities abound in the beautiful neighborhood, and the view from just outside the house is stunning.
We did not have much to do with our hosts, as we were busy driving around Iceland, but they seemed like very nice and friendly people. I can warmly recommend staying at Sigurþór's!
We were late at night and he was patiently waiting for us and was very accommodating.. And we'll communicative
It was a very pleasant place, nice neighborhood and a welcoming owner of the place.
