Interaction with Guests
We would be happy to offer suggestions of nearby wineries, restaurants and activities, yet if you're looking for privacy and a relaxing atmosphere, you've found the right place.
This quiet place to relax is located on a 3.5 acre hillside property, off a private road and 100 feet away from the main house. We're in rural Sonoma County, just outside the Santa Rosa City Limits.
You'll need a car to get the most out of nearby attractions. We're located between Santa Rosa and Healdsburg, minutes away from local wineries. Downtown Santa Rosa is just a 15 minute drive away . Calistoga is over the hill. Take the backroads and you'll be there in half an hour.
Other Things to Note
In addition to the base fee, a $55 cleaning fee is required. There isn't a land line phone in the cottage but there is good AT&T and Verizon cell coverage. The cottage has a fairly low capacity water heater so it's advisable to put some time between showers. We don't provide internet access so you might want to bring a smartphone to check email. There is free internet access available at the coffee shop down the hill, just 8 minutes away.
No smoking, open flames, pets or parties. Two people maximum. Property only available to paying guests.

A great find! I live in San Francisco but spend two weekends a year in Santa Rosa, and this beautiful cottage is far more comfortable, private and attractive than any of the nearby hotels. Very clean, quiet and cozy with very friendly and accommodating hosts. Large patio with wonderful views. If you're going to the Santa Rosa/Wine Country area, it's a great place to stay and gets my highest recommendation.
Bill was a great host and the cottage was very nice. The view was amazing. The kitchen was stocked with snacks and they even gave us a bottle of champagne to celebrate our honeymoon. Everything was very clean. Bill even helped us out when we had trouble figuring out the DVD player/
Bill was a great host! My wife and I arrived very late the first night and he stayed up to greet us and give us a tour of the house/property. The cottage is even better than the pictures show. A beautiful, warm and cozy cottage w/ amazing views of the valley. I would highly recommend anyone interested in staying in the area to look into Bill's cottage. Great hosts and people! Will definitely be back!!
Wow--a wonderful, secluded cottage with everything you need & more. Great views! Bill has a fantastic website with info on the surrounding area that was very helpful.
We had an amazing time at Bill's hillside cabin. It is as picturesque as it looks down to every detail. Bill was a very welcoming hose and additinonally respected our privacy. The views of Sonoma are amazing from the patio area. d
Bill's place is amazing. You are greeted warmly upon your arrival and have all needs met in this clean and modern cottage. It is secluded and private though Bill makes himself very available if any needs come up. The cottage is within close driving distance of many wonderful towns and wineries and within easy driving of the Pacific Coast and Hwy 1 as well. The website he and his wife have designed is very helpful for suggestions of things to do and places to eat. We are recommending this place to all our family & friends!
We are professional photographers living in rural Sonoma County. We're interested in gardening, wine, art and movies. Sibylla is from Germany and she teaches Photojournalism at San Francisco State University. Bill grew up in Southern California and began his editorial photography career in New York City. These days, we like to spend evenings hanging out with the neighbors or playing with our dogs.
