Interaction with Guests
Someone is typically always home. Our guests vary, but most are business travelers, transplants, and vacationers. Many are repeat guests, and are respectful, responsible, and friendly. We also have two very well-behaved kids living here, so please be kid-friendly.
Our house is located in a residential neighborhood of Honolulu (Palolo Valley). We are just outside the craziness of Waikiki but it's a hop, skip and jump away if you want to go there. We are conveniently located about a mile away from the H1 on-ramps and off-ramps. Our street crosses Waialae Avenue, which is home to many great eateries to satisfy any palate-- Town Restaurant, Big City Diner, Zippy's, Aloha Crepes, Azteca. Follow Waialae Ave. east for a few minutes and you'll be at Kahala Mall-- more eateries: The Counter, CPK, Chili's, Whole Foods, Starbucks/Jamba, etc. 3 supermarkets are also close.
Renting a car or moped while here is highly recommended, as the house is tucked away in the back of a valley. If you have a moped/motorcycle/bicycle, there is safe and private off-street parking. If you have a car, there's street parking. (You'll need to walk up a steep driveway to the house, so be comfortable with doing that.) However if you do plan on using the bus as your main mode of transportation, there is a covered bus stop for "TheBus #9S" right across the street from the house.
Note: If you plan on staying longer than 30 days and would like affordable vehicle options, just ask.

This was a great spot to stay while I got settled into Oahu. Brendan and Christina are excellent hosts with helpful suggestions. House is just minutes away from anything you'd need or want. The bonus of the ability to do laundry was nice. All the guests during my stay were lovely and even though it was a full house, there was lots of privacy and quiet. The kids are adorable and so well behaved! I would definitely recommend Brendan's place(s) to anyone visiting Oahu!
Brendan is such a great host! I highly recommend reserving a room in his beautiful home. This was my first time in Oahu for a friends wedding and vacation. He is very welcoming and makes you feel right at home. Brendan was very helpful with recommendations and always quick to respond with any questions. There is coffee and tea in the morning, full kitchen to use along with a washer and dryer (so nice to come home from vacation with clean clothes)! I was traveling solo so it was nice to get to know the other people staying in the house and share our adventures in Oahu! Thanks Brendan and cant wait to come back to Oahu and now I know exactly where to stay!
Ohana Nui is the perfect place to have a home away from home. I really enjoyed meeting the entire family and would highly recommend this place to all coming to Oahu. Brendan was always great to talk with and Christina had great recommendations on activities and food on the island. The kids were very smart and fun to play with. And of course the dog Tofu is awesome and always entertaining. The room is great for one person and Brendan even had food and water in the fridge when I arrived and even had parting gifts when I left. Also, it was great meeting all the other house guests from all over. I will certainly stay here again when I come back to Oahu in the future. Thanks for a great stay!
Host makes you feel at home the first time you walk through the door. Fantastic home with great people. Brendan is the man. There is a reason this house and this room has so many amazing reviews.
I had an incredible time with Brendan and the community of awesome friends and fellow travelers he has built. I truly felt like I was staying at a home, and made so many meaningful connections because of it. Everything was accounted for and questions were enthusiastically fielded--from needing to borrow a new beach towel to where I should explore next. I plan to stay in touch with everyone I met and plan to visit again soon! Thank you for showing me the meaning of ohana, and making my trip an incredible experience.
This trip was the most amazing one I ever had. He is a fantastic host. The facilities are very clean. The guys are easy going and create an awesome atmosphere. I traveled alone to Hawaii and spent 10 days there - never feeling lonely a single moment. This accommodation is highly recommendable and will be guarantee your splendid vacation.
Host provided an emergency stash of food, tour of place, and FAQ/instructions on house rules/washing machines/shower.
Was very good for the price.

150+ great reviews and Airbnb SUPER HOSTS!! Wow. 'Ohana Nui owes it all to great guests with a fun fresh and positive outlook on their travel and vacation. Thank you everyone for making 'Ohana Nui what it is.
Aloha! We are Brendan and family, and we enjoy sharing our beautiful three story home, 'Ohana Nui, with respectful travelers from around the world. Brendan works in construction and loves to "talk story" and Stand Up Paddle Surf. Christina is a busy Real Estate Agent who knows all the local hot spots and eateries. The kids, though not here all the time, are two well-behaved, respectful children (ages 7 and 8) who love meeting all the "uncles and aunties" in the house. And Tofu is our 4 year old dog that loves eating and napping.
We keep our home smoke-free, drug-free. We also keep everything clean and tidy. We do not have a party house by any means, just a nice place to relax and make new friends.
The name of our home, 'Ohana Nui, means Big Family, which is what we aspire to be to our guests. We strive to provide all the comforts of home with quality and affordability and to provide a great experience with a local feel, just outside of Waikiki.
