This stylish 1-bedroom loft has it all: 30 minutes door-to-door from SFO or OAK airports; steps from BART, MUNI, hundreds of great restaurants and a twice-weekly farmers market; gym and laundry in building; roof deck; updated kitchen; baby ready.
Immaculately designed, this modern loft in a historic brick building boasts an unbeatable downtown location, just steps from Union Square shopping, public transportation and the city's best restaurants.
This private, one-bedroom apartment is in a 106-year-old brick building decked out in modern-yet-warm furnishings.
Take advantage of the twice-weekly farmers market downstairs (Wednesdays and Sundays) with the gourmet kitchen and large dining table, or enjoy your coffee on the roof deck and work it off in the gym located in the basement.
Concrete walls and brand-new windows make for a silent stay. Our cozy full-size bed is located in a loft, so a little ladder climbing is required. Our apartment has been featured on Apartment Therapy, San Francisco Chronicle and Daily Candy if you would like to read a bit more. Just search for "Erin and Danny" on the respective websites. (For some reason AirBnB will not let me post the actual link or website, sorry)
We also have an infant daughter, so if you are traveling with a baby yourself, we can provide crib, high chair, changing station, toys and more. If you don't, we will pack it all away (with the exception of the crib in the bedroom).
***A word to those who have never been to or are unfamiliar with San Francisco: There are a lot of homeless people in this city, many of which are unstable. I know, I know, it can be disgusting, unpleasant and sometimes unbearable. With that said, more often than not, the homeless population mostly keep to themselves but may occasionally ask for change. Just act like you live here, DO NOT GIVE ANYONE MONEY, be aware of your surroundings and enjoy the many beautiful and amazing facets of this wonderful city.
Entire unit, roof access, gym access, laundry.
Interaction with Guests
We will not be present during your stay but will have our close friend hand off the keys and show you around the building.
Our neighborhood is steps from picturesque City Hall, the Main Library and the Asian Art Museum. Along with the beautiful architecture, our neighborhood hosts an impressive array of ethnic restaurants such as Vietnamese, Thai, Indian and Burmese.
UN Plaza hosts food trucks on Tuesdays during lunch hours and the Heart of The City Farmer's Market every Wednesday and Sunday with a truncated version on Fridays.
Hayes Valley, Union Square, SOMA and the Mission District are just a short and pleasant walk (or even quicker train ride) away.
If you want to get somewhere fast, we are located right above the Civic Center BART and Muni station. The 5 Fulton bus is located across the street along with the Golden Gate transit line if you want to head over the Golden Gate Bridge. We also have SF Bike Share for $9 a day located outside the BART and Muni station (highly recommended).
Other Things to Note
Our neighborhood is described by many as being "colorful" or "gritty." We are located literally in the heart of it all and with that comes the reality of metropolitan living. There are law students, tourists, working class families, federal workers, homeless and commuters bustling around this area at any given moment. If you have been to San Francisco before, this will make perfect sense to you. If you have never experienced downtown San Francisco before, this unfortunately may not be the listing for you.
We are looking for responsible, respectful guests who are here to enjoy and explore the city. Absolutely NO smoking, NO pets.
Most importantly have fun! Our apartment is in the best possible place to access the city.
Just be mindful that you are in an apartment building fitted with wood floors and sound travels quite easily (i.e. don't stomp around on the floor, slam doors or play music loudly). Other than that, please leave our home how you found it. We are pretty clean and orderly and want to return to our home like we were the last ones there.
Absolutely beautiful flat in a very central location - very cozy and stylish!
The area is a bit gritty, so keep that in mind when booking. Danny and Erin are lovely and very helpful.
Would definitely recommend this for an authentic SF experience.
We had an amazing stay at Danny and Erin's place. You really can't imagine a better location - super central to everything via foot or bicycle. The space was extremely clean, well kept and had the perfect San Fran touch. Danny and Erin were wonderful hosts and made sure that we were all set for a great trip. Two gems of advice: make dinner resos for Nopa and explore the city and surrounding area by bike. We will definitely plan to stay here again next time around!
What an incredible apartment and what wonderful hosts Danny and Erin were! We had a truly amazing stay in their innovative and beautiful home that exceeded our expectations in every way.
The apartment was a calm and quiet oasis and such a joy to come home to after a busy day exploring the city. We genuinely looked forward to the end of the night and coming back to the coziness of the apartment.
The location was perfect and as described. Yes, it's a little gritty outside but hey that's San Fran. As two females we were not bothered or made to feel unsafe, we acted like locals and were aware of our surroundings and that worked just fine for us.
Erin and Danny went out of their way to accommodate any requests we had and gave us some fabulous suggestions to eat at which we can wholeheartedly recommend. Great people who genuinely care about you and your stay.
I would love to return again some day and enjoy their hospitality and beautiful apartment again.
Thanks for making our stay so awesome!
We enjoyed our stay here! Before arriving Danny provided us with some tips on his favourite spots in the city which we took advantage of. Upon arriving the loft was exactly as advertised - cute, cool space - along with a welcome gift. The loft is very close to all the action. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality!
Although I didn't get to meet Danny and Erin in person they were very helpful and welcoming. They have a awesome spot that me, my husband, and 2 year really loved staying at.
Danny and Erin have a beautiful home (should be featured in a design publication for sure), which is centrally located and very convenient to public transportation. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
Even when my flight was delayed, I was graciously accommodated for my arrival. This place rocked and I would definitely recommend this for your visit to San Francisco.
Danny and this awesome loft were both near perfect, would visit again in a heartbeat.
My wife, Erin and I are an extremely active couple who literally ride our bicycles everywhere. We love to cook and are huge fans of the amazing ethnic restaurants located in our neighborhood -- Vietnamese, Thai, Indian, Burmese.
As hosts, we promise a clean, modern apartment in an unbeatable location. We live in the most central part of San Francisco making almost every part of the city reachable by foot, bike or public transportation. Our home is right at Civic Center BART/Muni station just four blocks from the Union Square shopping area. Other attractions immediately nearby are the Orpheum Theatre, Warfield Theatre, Golden Gate Theatre, City Hall, Asian Art Museum and Farmer's Market (every Wednesday and Sunday). Attractions that are about a ten minute walk include the Museum of Modern Art, Union Square, The Yerba Buena Center and Jewish Museum of Art.
