Guests say this area is walkable with lots to explore, especially for dining out.
A beautiful and cosy beach house in an amazing location - just 30 seconds to the beach!

Welcome to your beach retreat; breathe in the sea air, take in the views & feel the sand between your toes. Harbour Haven is your seaside home from home, comfortable and cosy whatever the season, it can accommodate up to six with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two living rooms & a pretty rear garden. It is the ideal base to relax & explore Broadstairs, it’s seven sandy beaches, and the surrounding areas.

The space
Harbour Haven is a four storey Grade II listed Georgian town house which has been sympathetically modernised to become a practical family home whilst retaining its original charm.

Once here you won't need your car again as the beaches, shops, restaurants, bars, pubs, cafés, and even an independent cinema are all on your doorstep.

Offering a relaxed vibe, which is just perfect for a wind-down weekend or a family holiday. There is a wealth of things to do locally, but for those times when you do just want to stay in there are board games, TVs, DVDs, and a lovely garden with a BBQ.

GROUND FLOOR

Front Living Room – With an imposing fireplace (not in use) and two armchairs, the front room is a great place to people watch or watch the world go by.

Rear Living Room – With a large comfy sofa with chaise and an armchair, this is a lovely cosy room where you can relax with our board games and books, or watch the 50” Smart TV. This room leads to:

Conservatory – A beautiful solid wood conservatory with a desk and printer should you need to work. Double doors lead to:

Rear Garden - A pretty east facing garden, which is a real sun trap in the morning & early afternoon!
There is a table with six reclining chairs, a bench, an Outback BBQ, and a cold water shower (not useable in Autumn/Winter). For the evenings there is lighting including festoon lights, it is very pretty at night!

LOWER GROUND FLOOR

Kitchen – A beautiful large kitchen with solid oak worktops. It has everything that you could need including: a Rangemaster range cooker, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer.
Tea, coffee, oils and seasonings are provided.

Dining Room – Has a six-seater dining table with bench seats, Smart TV and a stable door that leads back up to the garden.

Cloakroom/WC and wash hand basin.

FIRST FLOOR

Bedroom Two – At the front of the house with a wingback chair in the bay window, has a king size bed, bedside tables, wardrobe, chest of drawers, and a Smart TV with DVD player.

Bedroom Three – At the rear overlooking the garden, has a double bed, bedside table, walk in wardrobe, chest of drawers, Smart TV with DVD player, and:

En-Suite Shower Room – Small shower room with shower, wash hand basin and WC.

SECOND FLOOR

Main Bathroom – A large bathroom with a roll-top bath and separate shower cubicle. The WC is separate.

Master Bedroom – At the front of the house with three long sash windows in the bay and partial views of the beach, the chair here is a favourite place to sit and watch the world go by whilst enjoying a morning coffee. With a king size bed, bedside tables, wardrobe, chest of drawers, and Smart TV with DVD player.

There is a floorplan of the house in the photos so you can see the layout.

Quality bed linen and towels are provided, as are a selection of board games and DVDs.

Guests are welcome to make use of the beach stuff which includes: chairs, windbreaker, cool box, body boards, buckets and spades.

Guest access
Guests have full and exclusive use of the house and garden.

Other things to note
There are four original fireplaces in the house, unfortunately they are not useable and are purely decorative.

As a four storey home it has quite a few stairs, and as it was originally built as a cottage the stairs are of cottage style design/proportion. The stairs to the lower ground floor (kitchen) are quite steep and could be a problem for someone with mobility problems or young children.

Due to its central location there isn't parking at the house, however there are two car parks one minute away and free on street parking within a five minute walk. Once you have unloaded and parked you won’t need your car again though!

As we are in the heart of Broadstairs and seconds to the beach some noise should be expected at night, especially weekend nights, we therefore provide complimentary earplugs for the benefit of our guests should they require them.

Guests will receive access to our exclusive digital guide which includes everything you should need to know about the house, restaurant recommendations, activities, and local area information. We are also always available to help with any other advice or questions.

Neighborhood highlights

Broadstairs is full of nostalgic old-world seaside charm. Seven sandy beaches to choose from - head to Joss Bay to learn to surf, or rural Botany Bay to saunter amid towering chalk stacks. Keep on walking or pedalling to join the 25-mile Viking coastal trail. Clifftop walks, independent shops, galleries, restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs as well as small supermarkets, butchers and bakeries are all on your doorstep.
Just inland, St Peter's village stages award-winning heritage tours, while in town explore Dickens’ haunts of Bleak House and Betsey Trotwood’s home.

There’s always a festival on:
Blues Bash in February, Dickens Week in June, the Bandstand musicians throughout the summer, the Water Gala in July/August, Folk Week in August, and the Food and Drink Festival in October.

Only a few miles away you have Margate with Dreamland, Margate Old Town with lots of independent shops, restaurants, cafes, antique shops, and the Turner Contemporary gallery. In the other direction is Ramsgate with its Royal Harbour - take out a boat for seal watching or sea fishing, or just to watch the boats from its many cafes and bars.

For serious golfers there is North Foreland golf course and Royal St Georges golf course in Sandwich which was founded in 1887 and intended by its founder, Dr William Laidlaw Purves, to be a rival to St Andrew’s in the South of England. Royal St Georges is consistently ranked amongst the leading courses in the World.

Historic Canterbury is only a 30 minute drive or train ride away, with its spectacular cathedral, city walls, restaurants, shops and parks.

Step back in time at one of our nearby castles - Dover, Deal, Walmer, Leeds and Rochester Castles are all easily reached by car or rail in under an hour.
