The Space

***Just a quick note! My place is rented out until June 5, 2014.

Huge Duplex, 1800 square feet
Hard wood floors throughout, except bedrooms and study have carpet.
Typical old montrosey house, lots of character, and spacious.

The room available has it's own bathroom (it has a shower too) and it connects with a common study area.
There is also a Full Kitchen, living room, dining room, washer and dryer, dishwasher and disposal.

**UPDATE: Just upgraded the room, it now has luxury bedding and down comforter. You will sleep like an angel!

The area is great, we are within walking distance of great restaurants, bars, icehouses, yoga studios, dessert bars, coffee shops, grocery stores, parks, art galleries, museums, etc. I ride my bike all over the area as well. But just about everything is a 10 min drive or less. We are in the middle of everything.

When staying here at "Pegacorn" Fields (nickname of the house), you are welcome to utilize the fully equipped kitchen, washer & dryer, gaming and entertainment systems, dining room and cozy living room.

There is a public bus stop right outside the house. However public transportation in Houston isn't the greatest and can often take quite a while to get around. The best way to travel in Houston is definitely by car. Otherwise, a bicycle can work as well if you don't have to go long distances. I have one extra bicycle that you may borrow.

About me:

I am pretty chill, easy going and I love food and wine.
I know everything to do in this city. I'm a great host too! Let me know what I can help you with!

Guest Access

You will have access to the entire home with the exception of my bedroom.

Interaction with Guests

If I'm in town, I like to be as helpful and as present as guests would like. Feel free to ask me anything!

The Neighborhood

Montrose is the hippest, trendiest neighborhood in Houston. We are centrally located to everything. Be sure not to miss the Menil Museum down the street!

Getting around

Metro Bus Stop is right outside the house. It's also a short walk to busier streets with bus routes that run more often.

Parking is included at the house.

I would suggest taking a super shuttle to and from the airport.

  • Crystal's room was perfect for my stay. The bed was comfortable, there was plenty of drawer and closet space if needed, and having a private bathroom was an added comfort. I never actually met Crystal but I met her mother, Breezy, who was moving into to the house at the time. Although she was moving in and understandably tired and overwhelmed, Breezy was a hoot and a lovely host who made sure I had everything I needed. Crystal and I communicated through text and she was also very kind and easy to reach.

The duplex is located in one of my favorite Houston areas. It is central and has a lot of fun shops and cafes nearby.

I would definitely recommend staying with Crystal if you want a comfortable and convenient place in Houston!

  • I've spent 5 months at Crystal's place in Houston - loved it! The house is super spacious and comfortable (the room has even its own bathroom, which was awesome considering I had moved from NYC!). The location is also pretty good, right in Montrose, which has become my favourite neighbourhood in Houston. Crystal travels a lot, but she's always found the time to take me around, introduce me to her friends and get together for dinner and drinks. I can't think of anywhere else to stay if I'm ever back in Houston!

  • My girlfriend and I recently stayed at Crystal's apartment in the charming Montrose neighborhood of Houston. Although Crystal was traveling, she was kind enough to allow us to stay there while her friend, Jessica, hosted us. The room itself was warm and the bed comfy; the bathroom was small but sufficient for our needs. We were out of the house for most of the day so we didn't experience much of the apartment's common areas - the living room and the kitchen. We had difficulty logging onto WiFi in the apartment for a couple of days as Jessica tried to get the updated log-on instructions from Crystal, who was out of town for the holidays. Still, I appreciate Crystal's willingness to accommodate our stay in a convenient location, close to terrific eateries, shops and museums.

  • Crystal is a very friendly, easygoing person and a great host. Her home is a perfect place for a stay in Houston. The room with private bath is very cosy and the bed comfy. I enjoyed cooking in the well equipped kitchen and sitting outside in the back yard for dinner & wine.

  • Crystal's place is in a wonderful location and there are myriad restaurants, thrift stores, cafes, etc within just a short driving distance. Crystal is a great host - very friendly and helpful with suggested good restaurants in the area or different galleries / museums in Houston. While I was in Houston for work and did not get to do much in my free time, I did really enjoy how close the apartment was to the Rice running trail - the apartment is a perfect location for all those wanting to get out and have a relaxing run in the morning! Really appreciated Crystal's hospitality and highly recommend staying with her.
