This is a nice room in a beautiful/quiet home. Recent guests to my home have tended to be programmers for places like (website hidden), Apple/iOS, (website hidden), and traveling nurses - it has great long term amenities.

The Space

The Space

It's a quiet room with a very comfortable mattress. The room is designed to be calming, comfortable, soothing.

The property is 1800 square feet, on a 9000 square foot lot. The street is very quiet - it's not a through street. There is a small cat, but she spends most of her time outdoors. This is a pet-friendly place - the yard is large, and it's also a very clean home. In the spring/summer you can enjoy fruit from trees including cherries (2), peaches, apri-plums, and lemons. In the winter, you can sit in front of the gas fire place and enjoy a book, and you'll love the heated toilet seat :) Please do take your shoes off at the front door.

The house itself house is located in a quiet area of Los Gatos CA - 20 minutes to Big Basin Redwoods, 25 to the coast and Santa Cruz, 30 to Palo Alto, and 45 to San Francisco. You can even visit Big Sur and drive the coast on Highway 1.

Guest Access

You'll have a shared bathroom (all yours if I don't have a guest in the other room), shared kitchen (you can use the fridge, stove, .. all of it) and living room. WIFI and all the amenities (including laundry and parking) are provided for your comfort.

The Neighborhood

It's Los Gatos. It's terrific. 330 days of sun a year. A 10 mile trail that leads to the Santa Cruz mountains. The best gelato in Silicon Valley!

Getting around

It's better if you have a car.

Other Things to Note

The place is lucky. Guests have gotten jobs for each other (one of my weekly guests is a high profile software/job recruiter). We've made new friends. It's a lot of fun.

  • I needed a place to stay on short notice, Claude had the room ready right away. His place is located in a beautiful neighborhood on a nice lot. The room was very nice with a large window and comfortable bed. The house has a fully equipped kitchen and is walking distance to a Safeway, perfect if you like to cook. Overall I would recommend staying there.

  • We stayed with Claude for a few weeks in September/October. Everything was great, we were able to use all the common areas in the house (kitchen, living/dining room, laundry, ...) as well as the super awesome backyard. Claude was super friendly, helpful and very quick to respond to questions or if we needed something. The neighborhood is very nice, too. I'd definitely recommend to stay here.

  • Saying at Claude's place was great! A wonderful quiet neighborhood surrounds the house, though there's conveniently a Safeway close by. Coco, the resident cat, is very friendly. The room itself was very comfortable.

  • We enjoyed our 10 week stay in Claude's sunny Los Gatos home and were very thankful to be able to bring our 16 yr old Siamese cat along with us. Great place for longer stays plus pets in the South Bay - thanks Claude!

  • What a great place to stay!! From the moment we walked in the door (with our dogs) it was a great experience. i will admit we were hesitant at first--this was our first Airbnb experience. I am a traveling nurse so this was a long term (2 month) stay. Giving up our privacy --my husband travels with me-- was a concern. Worry no more!! What a great experience. Claude made sure that we had everything we needed, that we were comfortable, and that we felt like his home was our home. We were all one big family, dogs and all! His house is beautiful, clean, inviting, well equipped, just bring yourself and relax. Great quiet neighborhood-but close to enough to any adventure we wanted too. If I get another contract in the area, I'm calling Claude! I'll miss him, his home and his dogs! What a great host! He has certainly set the bar high for my Airbnb expectations now!! :)

  • My girlfriend and I stayed with Claude when we first came to San Jose and were looking for something more long term. Claude is a super cool guy who is friendly, relaxed, and easy to get along with. He was also very helpful to us who were new to the area. The house is as lovely as the description with an amazing backyard and a super friendly cat.

  • I stayed here for three months with my dog. My stay with Claude was great. He is very accommodating and shares his whole house with you. Speaking of his house, it's clean, big and has everything you need. I'm very pleased I chose to stay here.

Hi, I'm a 40yr old entrepreneur and I love to meet new people and I love to travel. I'm a transplate to the US from Canada, coming to the valley by way of Ann Arbor Michigan. A couple years ago I left the rat race, started a company, which it turned out is another race, but it's been a fun ride. Airbnb keeps a steady stream of cool people coming into share my home and create new experiences and connections, I love it. Recently, I've hosted interns from places like (website hidden), (website hidden), Cryptic, people who've stayed for months and months doing hacker school, traveling nurses, and more. If you like to meet people and you're young at heart, this is THE place for you! I've hosted over 50 guests in the past 2.5yrs, and I've stayed at AirBnb's across multiple continents. It's pretty much awesome.
