About This Listing
Private apartment with sunny two bedrooms on 3rd floor prewar building. It is in the quintessential center of downtown Brooklyn; tree lined brownstones, boutiques, dining, galleries & theater. Seven minutes to the city!
The space is a top floor of a three floor walk up. Its a beautiful open space that is sun drenched with southern exposure with a big skylight as you enter the main apartment from the stairs. Its very minimalistic, as I don't like clutter. With wood flooring through out. I used to have a restaurant, so in my kitchen I put in industrial metal shelving and counters to give it a sleek look. And for a New York city apartment, the bathroom is a dream space. All white tiling, jet bath and a separate standing shower with a window facing out to a court yard. Both bedrooms come fully furnished with fresh linens and towels. Each room has it own key and lock with a living room and kitchen.
The guest has access to everything to the whole apartment as it is private. The bathroom is full bathroom with white tiling, window and jet bath and separate stand up shower. They will be renting out the whole apartment.
Interaction with Guests
I am always available/around by cell phone for the needs of my guests.
Boerum Hill is one of those little neighborhoods that not many people know by name but definitely have spent some time or visited. It is situated in the little pocket area known as BOCOCA (Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill & Carrol Gardens). These three neighborhoods is the quintiessential downtown Brooklyn, with prewar buildings, brownstones, tree lined streets and friendly neighbors that have been here for generations or neighbors that have just discovered these special little areas.
Its amazingly convenient to Manhattan, since one of the main subways the A & C & F train is all located in 2 or 3 min walking distance. Also, the G is a great line because it takes you straight to Williamsburg, another hip and cool happening area of Brooklyn. Getting to Williamsburg from downtown Brooklyn takes about 20 mins and there is no need to transfer trains.
Getting around is a breeze! It is amazingly convieneit to Manhattan, since one of the main subways the A & C & F train are all located in 2 (A&C) or 4 (F) min walking distance.

Also, the A train that takes you straight to the Jamaica Air Train station which goes to JFK international airport (one hour train ride). Compared to taking a yellow taxi which would cost around $65 or so, the subway to JFK Airtrain would cost $7.50!
Our new green borough taxis are also easily able to hail from the street since Atlantic Ave is one the main larger streets that lead to Manhattan. Taking a green borough cab would cost around $10 - $15 if you are going somewhere in downtown Manhattan and NOT during rush/peak hours.
Also, private car service cabs that we also use are always reliable and can pick you up directly from the brownstone in less than 15mins.
Other Things to Note
The block that I live on has the almost everything. Across the street is my favorite cafe call the THE LITTLE SWEET CAFE. It is everything a cafe should be. Warm, cozy, with the perfect brewed cup of coffee. Also, they make the best crepes & pastries! Masoud the owner is comical, friendly and just about knows everyone in the neighborhood. If you go there, you must say hi to him and tell him that you're my house guest!
We have two queen size beds and for additional guests we provide one air mattress and a regular mattress or guests are welcomed to make a bed on our comfortable couch!
No smoking in the house and to be mindful of the energy usage. If you are leaving the room or the apartment I kindly ask guests to remember to turn all lights off and/or air conditioner and fan.
If you loose any sets of keys that is provided during your check in, a $25 dollar charge is taken out of the deposit to replace the set of keys.
Indra was an amazing host! She was always available to solve any doubt I have. Also, her place is beautiful and has everything you need. Location is perfect too. I would totally recommend this place to anyone. We had a happy stay.
Absolutely amazing! We stayed 4 nights at Indras' and we can't think of a better place to stay in New York! The whole appartment is very clean an the bed very compfortable. It might be a little noisy at night, but we brought eatplugs, so it was no problem for us. You get to Manhattan very simple and there are many nice Cafés and restaurants around the corner. We didn't really see Indra, but it was fine with us and her roommate Stan is a really great guy who was very helpful as well! We would always book her room again and can nothing but recommend this Air bnb!
Theresa and her sister were super easy guests to host. They found the apartment easily and it was great to check them in. They really didn't ask for much and were even patient when I had a little internet issue. They left the space so tidy and organized. Communicating with them for check out went quite easily.
I would love to host them again!
A part ça, super endroit!
Really nice place, great access to JFK and the subways, and Indra is very helpful! Thanks a lot again btw ;)
To make your stay perfect if you are a light sleeperthough I would recommend bringing earplugs for the traffic. But otherwise it's a great place.
Indra est accueillante et s arrange pour vous donner les clés quand ça vous arrange . L appartement est propre, fonctionnel et très proche du métro. La rue est adorable.
About the Host, Indra
Traveling is a passion that keeps me connected, grounded and in touch with the world, with people and its cultures. It always feels special exploring and falling in love with new villages, towns and cities and finding inspiration in all of them.
One would describe me as easy going and accommodating. New York has been my central hub for the past 13 years living between Manhattan and Brooklyn...and now calling Brooklyn home. I still feel like I am discovering and learning new things of NY!
