In an instant you can go to the Vatican , the Colosseum , or Trastevere, or do such a nice ride in the park of Villa Borghese. You can also cross the use of the bike with that of the Metro as you can travel on the Underground network with bikes in tow.

Other things to note

"The Baboon", Ripetta street and Via del Corso, the three main arteries of the historic center of Rome meet there in Piazza del Popolo. Representation of papal patronage Renaissance, the ancient seat of games, fairs, folk performances and executions, the square is certainly one of the most famous in the world.
"Felici faustoque ingressui MDCLV" ("For a happy and auspicious imput"): this is the message carved by Bernini on the Porta del Popolo (the ancient Porta Flaminia) upon the arrival in Rome of Queen Christina of Sweden, and today welcomes millions of visitors each year who come to admire the historical and cultural wonders offered by the square.
The twin churches of Santa Maria Montesanto and Santa Maria dei Miracoli, the Obelisco Flaminio (the oldest and the second highest of Rome), and the two Valadier's fountains help create the charming atmosphere of the square. And yet, the church of Santa Maria del Popolo, built on the burial site of Emperor Nerone and his damned soul , and the adjacent business premises , which have become an integral part of the square and once frequented by people dear to the history of Rome as Trilussa, Guttuso and Pasolini make Piazza del Popolo the highest cultural emblem of the "Romanity" .

If you're first-timers like us, I strongly recommend this place. It is centrally located but in a quiet and safe area (if that's a must for you too). The apartment is very nice and comfortable. I particulary love the high ceiling. Restaurants, supermarket, shopping street (Via del corso), taxi stands are within 5 to 10 minutes walk. The spanish steps, fontana de trevi, piazza del popolo, borghese gardens, The Vatican city and even the Colloseum are all easily walkable within 20-30 minutes. Trust me, you won't realize you've been walking that long. Meeting Paolo is an added bonus. He's just so nice, helpful, and friendly.
