Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Sleep up in the trees in our cozy Magical Treehouse. This place is the perfect base camp for your next adventure, or a unique spot to curl up with a good book. The perfect place to be in the woods, but not isolated. Cook your meals in the nearby cookhouse (40’ away, unheated) on a camp stove or over an open campfire. A heated bathroom/shower is 20’ away. We provide you with linens, cookware, plus help you plan your trip. Property includes miles of hiking trails and beautiful places to explore!

The space
Rural, but centrally located, The Magical Treehouse is seven miles north of Paul Smiths College on Rt. 30. You’ll be in one of the most varied wilderness areas of the park.

The Paul Smith’s College Visitors Interpretive Center is five miles away with wonderful hiking trails and educational programs for the whole family.

You’ll be 25 minutes to Saranac Lake or Malone; 35 minutes to Lake Placid and its Olympic venues; 50 minutes to Whiteface Mountain. The Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks (the Wild Center) is 40 minutes away in Tupper Lake.

The Magical Treehouse has a single room with a beautiful, comfortable handcrafted queen-size bed, a table, and cozy chairs. Your bathroom/shower is in a separate building 20' away, and your cookhouse is in a screened in area and is 40' away. (Wintertime- mini fridge, microwave and snowshoes provided).

There is a nice campfire spot for summer marshmallow roasts or quiet fire gazing. A complimentary bundle of campfire wood is provided for your use, more for purchase.

You can cook meals in the screened in cookhouse (not heated in winter) and a spigot nearby provides water. The cookhouse has all the pots, dishes, utensils and tools you'll need to make a great meal.

There are over 5 miles of hiking/xc ski/snowshoe trails on the property to explore and nearby trails are excellent for mountain biking with both back country roads and single-track. The property is home to a bog, an old quarry and a river runs nearby. Designated horseback riding trail heads are less than a mile away. A “Wild and Scenic Study River,” the Osgood, flows nearby with put-in and take-outs within a couple of miles of our driveway. Drop-off and pick-up arrangements can be made. This is a “must paddle” for those interested in wildlife and scenery. Many have spotted the bald eagle who has a nest at the river’s edge. We are surrounded by many great fishing spots.

Your hosts, Bob and Sheila, are a former professional wilderness guide, and a life-long resident of the Paul Smith’s area. Between the two of them, good advice—connecting you to great experiences and unique destinations is as close to a “sure thing” as you can get. The temporary use of their brains is complimentary!
