Desert Park Estates is in North Palm Springs and was one of the original neighborhoods of the mid century expansion of Palm Springs. Many designers and Architects were drawn to Palm Springs for the incredible weather and potential for indoor/outdoor living and found it the perfect spot to experiment with the prevailing styles of the era. Neighboring Racquet Club Estates shot up in the late 1950's and early 1960's and Hugh Kaptur, who had apprenticed for Donald Wexler, acquired land north of that neighborhood to create Desert Park Estates. His work can be seen all over Palm Springs today in houses, commercial and residential buildings. The neighborhood is very friendly and a mix of Kaptur homes and some very modern homes, as well as ranch homes from the seventies. You are about 3-4 miles from downtown Palm Springs. Close to shopping and restaurants with easy access to everything.
