Cozy cabin in the city of Longyearbyen. 2 beds, 1 sleeper sofa, and 1 matress. Total of 4 people at the most (for those who like to be intimate).

5-7 minutes walk to the shops.

My family have a history in Svalbard since 1979, And we are lucky enough to keep the connection, with cabins and snowmobiles. But we want to share this beauty to all who gets here. So please take care of our little cabin, so we can return with our grandchildren, to enjoy another decade of Svalbard!

Where you’ll be

Longyearbyen, Svalbard, Svalbard & Jan Mayen

The cabin is in walking distance to all town facilities. The short-cut to the shopping-center, is passing the neigbouring MaryAnn´s Polarrigg (here is a restaurant and a bar). Pass the parked bus and boat - and you will see a path, following the water-pipes running across the valley. When you reach the road on the other side, keep on to your right. On your left hand, you will see the Hospital, then the Cinema/Culture House with Cafe Rabalder. Next is the shoppingcenter "Lompen" with cafe Fruene. Behind this, you find the supermarket Svalbardbutikken. Opening hours are 10 - 20 on work days, 10-18 on Saturdays, and 15-18 on Sundays.

Be aware that visitor must show a boardingcard/flight ticket to buy alcohol. The limit is 2 litres of hard liquer, 1 l. of liquer with less than 21 %, and 24 beers. The sale is done inside the supermarket. Closing hours 18 on work-days, 15 on saturdays, sundays closed.

Several shops and bars/restaurants are located along the pedestrian street, beginning with Radisson Blue hotel and ending at the Tourist information office (10:00-16:00 all days).

For booking tours and activities, look up www.visitsvalbard.com - There you can choose your arrival date, number of persons and get a full listing of things to do the next days of your stay.

Norwegian with Svalbard experience from first childhood stay in 1980. To and from steadily since 1994. The small Longyearbyen cabin was build by me and my father in year 2000, as a single room building. Later it was moved to permanent residencial place where it is now. With central heating, water and suage available, the cabin was extended with an entrance hallway, bedroom and bathroom. As for now our family use it reagularly in winter-spring, autumn and some other stays. So you will find our private stuff, clothes and hiking/winter equipment stored in and outside the cabin. We also have a wildernes cabin 60 km outside Longyearbyen, close to Svea community (which is now being demantled). 20 years experience working in tourism, as manager, guide, and tour-leader - working in Norhtern Norway and Russia, as well as Svalbard.
