About This Listing
Our funky abode is minutes walking or biking to river trail, downtown and hiking trails. Make yourself at home in the well-equipped kitchen, ample outdoor living space and pet-friendly environment. You will know why we love the space and location.
Blood, sweat and tears with a touch of creativity have made this old Victorian truly special. The outdoor living space is a bonus and you can find yourself sipping wine from the deck upstairs with a feeling of seclusion and tranquility or dine on the back patio after grilling up some food and enjoying the gardens.
Everything you need to enjoy your stay.
Interaction with Guests
For long term stays we may have a friend mowing the lawn and checking on the gardens on a schedule that you can count on.
Our neighborhood is one of the best in Durango. With the back hillside you feel like you are in the country with frequent visits from racoons, deer and the occasional bear. If you need anything the neighbors on either side will be happy to help and we are only a phone call, text or email away.
Walking, biking, free trolley will get you just about anywhere in Durango within minutes.
Other Things to Note
We can accomodate larger groups if needed as we actually have 3 bedrooms, each with beds, a full-size sofa couch in the living room and a twin-size pull out couch in the upstairs living room. Please inquire if this is of interest as another price will be negotiated.
We are happy to accommodate your well-behaved dog(s) as long as they don't wreak havoc on our home (your responsibility if they do with an additional cleaning fee) as well as cleaning up after them in the yard and wherever you take them for walks. Please keep them out of the gardens. You are welcome to graze on anything ripe in the gardens. Please do not smoke ANYTHING in the house (yes, this is Colorado) and close doors/windows to the house if you are smoking outside. And please dispose of your cigarettes properly. Please be mindful this is a neighborhood with real folks living and working here....quiet time after 10pm is very important. Other then that...mi casa es su casa.
I was very happy to have stayed within this home. It is a beautiful old home, but it has modern conveniences. On the counter was a sampling of local teas, granola, magazines with points of interests. There were also explicit instructions as to how to everything works within the home (TV, music, heating and the steam shower) and whom to call if we have problems. I also liked that the 2 rooms are on separate floors on opposite sides of the house. With a bathroom by each bedroom it makes sharing the home easy and allow some privacy.
One of the reasons I use AriBnB is because of the ability to cook and make my own meals and to be comfortable in a space. This is what I was able to do and more. I was provided with all the cookware I needed. I asked ahead of time for what appliances they had and was quickly answered. I needed to bring nothing additional (like a blender or food processor). There was a dishwasher and a washing machines allowing me to run a regular household like I do at home.
The purpose of my stay was for a local festival and a wedding. I was able to host a full pre-wedding dinner. Not only did I have all the cookware, but the home came with enough dishes, forks, cups and utensils for everyone. There was also enough comfortable seating for everyone as well. I was able to host as if I was in my own place.
Everyone that came to the home really loved it, all felt comfortable and it made me happier that my guests were comfortable.
This is so kind! I LOVE that you treated our home as your own and you used it precisely as it was meant to be -- shared and celebrated with loved ones! I feel honored that our home was used to celebrate someone's marriage! Thanks for your kind words, quick follow up and feedback and TLC of our home! -Nasha and Steve
Great stay, wonderful house and outstanding location. Easy drive to DMR too.
Our stay was absolutely perfect - the house is so quaint and was the perfect location for enjoying all the activities that Durango has to offer. Beyond that, we were so excited about the amenities within the house! Treats upon our arrival for both us and our puppy and the steam shower was a godsend after a long day on the slopes! Being a remodeled older home we definitely woke up in a panic the first few nights hearing pipes creak with the cold weather (we are city people :)) but Durango is so safe, we got used to it! Nasha was a fantastic host always responding very quickly. If we return to Durango, we absolutely will be booking their place again! Thanks!
We loved everything about your home especially the master suite and sunny living room!! It was very warm and cozy with all the necessities plus the little extra treats and ideas of things to do. It was the perfect location, quiet neighborhood and walking distance to town. We will be back!
Yay! So happy to hear! We would love to have you anytime and so glad the amenities were a pleasant surprise and that you were so close to your family and that your pooches has a great time as well:) Hope to meet you face to face the next time! Happy Holidays to you and yours! -Nasha
We loved everything about our stay here! The hosts really made you feel welcome in their home. The house is so warm and inviting, with string lights throughout the house, and outside too. We were welcomed with gourmet chocolates from Animas Chocolate Co., local dark roast coffee (my favorite) as well as natural dog treats for our two dogs. We stayed in the bedroom upstairs and it was hard to leave for the day to go explore Durango because it was that wonderful! There's an amazing glass shower with a waterfall shower head and it's also a steam shower! T And the balcony off the bedroom was one of our favorite places! We were there first thing each morning, drinking our coffee, listening to the Durango-Silverton train go by, watching the birds/hummingbirds, and one morning there was a deer right behind us. It was so quiet and so peaceful, great place to just hang out. What I also really loved was the access to the river trail, downtown Durango, and hiking/biking trails behind the house (you have to go up a few blocks then back to get to the trailhead) all within walking distance so we didn't have to drive. The kitchen was great for cooking and having others sit on the stools so you could chat. The list of hikes, restaurants, things to do, was great. Nasha also left a guide for where to find certain utensils which was very helpful. We will definitely be staying here again in the future! Thank you for opening your beautiful home to us!!
We really enjoyed our stay in this charming house. Lots of places to hang out and our favorite was the balcony upstairs. They have a killer shower and well planned kitchen. Very nice neighborhood too. We had a fantastic time in Durango and we definitely would stay in their place again.
Truly enjoyed our stay in this delightful home. It was a great home base for us and our 2 big dogs. They loved the side yard and we loved the steam shower! Will definitely stay here when in the area again!
