Welcome to your serene escape nestled on the shores of stunning Karaka/Scorching Bay.

Grab yourself a coffee and/or a bite to eat from the popular Scorch-o-Rama cafe right next door and sit back and relax in our renovated home and take in the charming views of the Wellington Harbour and Scorching Bay beach.

Only a 20 minute drive from the CBD and 10 minutes from the airport.

The space
The house is all one level with two outdoor living spaces. The front court yard area has outdoor seating, BBQ/fireplace and is only a stones throw away to the beach. The back court yard is secure and surrounded by beautiful karaka trees and a stand alone self contained batch/sleep out.

* please note * the batch/sleep-out may be occupied from time to time but we will let you know in advance. Access to the batch is via the side gate entrance.

The spacious open plan kitchen/living area is fully equiped and offers stunning views of Wellington Harbour.

The Master bedroom has a large walk-in wardrobe and ensuite with toilet/shower & heater.

The second bedroom has a double/single bunk bed and plenty of wardrobe space. It's not a large room, but is cosy. There is a wall heater in the room for the cooler season.

The smaller third bedroom is located off the living area down a few stairs towards the garage and has a king single bed with views of the back courtyard. A small fan heater is avalaible to keep you cosy during the cooler nights.

Heating includes a fireplace and a heat pump in the open planned living area. There are also additional heaters available.

Guest access
Guest have access to the whole house but not the self contained unit/bach at the back of the house or the garage.

Parking is on the driveway in front of the the garage and off-street parking is also avalaible.

Other things to note
Something to note and be aware of is that sometimes penguins like to hang out under the house where they hibernate at night so don't be alarmed If you hear loud squawking noises!

Karaka / Scorching Bay Community
We have lovely neighbours, a safe beach to swim in and Karaka Bay is very community minded. Consideration of our neighbours would be greatly appreciated.

Penguins
Our neighbours also include penguins which like to burrow under the house. Don’t be alarmed if you hear strange squawking noises during the night as it is only the penguins at play. Penguins also have an unpleasant smell which you may notice from time to time in the bathroom. (They have managed to find a way under the house). We apologise for this inconvenience and will do our best to eradicate this smell immediately.

Miramar Community
Miramar suburb is our closest hub to a number of facilities and has everything you need. Located only 4 km away on Miramar Avenue Road you will find, to name a few, two service stations, New World supermarket, Peninsula Medical Centre and chemist, Palmers Garden Centre and Chocolate Frog cafe located inside the garden centre, Liquor land, Craig’s Chemist, Veterinary and the Miramar Branch Library.

Also in the area is Roxy Cinema, The Weta Cave and Workshop, barbers, hairdressers, Total Health Chiropractic, Omega Rental Cars and the Souvenir Factory Shop, Maia Crossfit, Jetts Miramar, Pure Tough Gym and Endorphinz Fitness Club.

For great coffee and food, Miramar has an excellent variety of cafés and restaurants to choose from. Scorch-O-Rama, Chocolate Fish (Shelly Bay), Chocolate Frog, Café Polo, Park Kitchen café, Coco at the Roxy, Loca Bocca Loca, Spirit House Thai Restaurant, Ortega Fish Shack (Fish n chips at Worser Bay), The Larder, Gasworks Miramar, Alamir Bakery, Gypsy Kitchen and The Balti House.

Check out Lyall Bay’s Maranui Café, The Botanist, the Spruce Goose, Busters Woodfired Pizza, Elements, Parrotdog and Queen Sally’s Diamond Deli.

If you’re wanting to walk off that food, a great walk is along the water front to Worser Bay or if you want a more rigorous trial walk, the Ataturk Memorial to the Pass of Branda loop track has fantastic views.
