Location, Location, Location!
A fabulous, city-centre apartment, very close to Manchester Piccadilly Station, and just a 15 minute walk from the trendy Northern Quarter with its many bars, restaurants and independent shops.
A spacious, double room in a modern and light apartment perfect for single travellers or couples.
With superb access to the city-centre, it's just a 10 to 15 minute walk into town. There is a tram (Metrolink) stop just outside the building which is super handy for getting all over Manchester and the neighbouring suburbs, and great for getting home after a night out!
The apartment is on the 6th floor (there's a lift!), with wonderful views of Manchester and beyond, especially at night when all the lights are twinkling! The sunsets are also amazing and definitely worth seeing. There is a generous balcony which is perfect for eating breakfast on warmer days, or for a glass of something in the evening!
The apartment is next to the canal which is perfect for a calm and peaceful walk (into town or in the opposite direction), away from all the hustle and bustle!
The room is a generous double with bedside cabinets and wardrobe space. You will also have your OWN BATHROOM with a bath and shower. Sometimes nothing beats a relaxing soak in the bath after a long journey :)
You will have access to the open plan living space with sofas, a TV and balcony. FREE Wi-Fi is also available.
A breakfast of muesli or cereal, fruit and toast or pastries is included in your stay.
Interaction with Guests
I will be present during your stay and am happy to make recommendations for places to go and things to see :)
Whether you're a shopper, foodie, museum-goer, theatre-lover, or you just want to experience the brilliant social scene in Manchester, the location could not be better. The big, beating heart of Manchester is just minutes away!
The area is architecturally and historically interesting with lots of converted mills from Manchester's industrial boom times. And Ancoats was once famous for its hat-making; the building sits on the site of a former hat box factory, hence the name Milliners Wharf!
If you're heading to the Etihad Stadium for a concert it's just a short walk along the canal. You can avoid busy trams (they get packed when there is a concert on) or expensive taxis and walk there at your leisure!
Manchester Piccadilly station is just a 10 to 15 minute walk away, or one stop on the tram. It’s the main railway station in Manchester and can take you to any location locally or further afield. There is a tram stop next to the building which takes you into the city centre and beyond. To get to the apartment by tram you will need the Ashton line; the stop is New Islington.
The apartment is easily accessible by train and, if you are flying, there are frequent trains from Manchester Airport which take about 15 to 20 minutes. There is a 24-hour car park (£2 for up to 24 hours) if you are travelling by car.
If you have any questions about reaching the apartment please do ask.
Other Things to Note
There is an iron and ironing board if you need it, as well as a hairdryer.
I provide towels and toiletries for all guests.
I have WiFi which guests can log into.
There is an on-site concierge and the building is secure and gated. You will have your own set of keys during your stay so you are able to come and go as you please.
Please confirm your check-in time when you know it so that I can make all the necessary arrangements to make sure your arrival goes as smoothly as possible :)
Please respect other people in the building by keeping noise at reasonable levels and not making a lot of noise late at night.
Please do not invite people who haven't booked to stay in the room back to the apartment.
This is a no-smoking apartment.
Nancy is a fantastic host. Not only does she communicate well, elaborate and quick beforehand, she also ensures there's a personal note awaiting you when she's not in. The view from the apartment is magnificent, it's very clean and tidy and it's location couldn't be better. Nancy gives free advice on how to get around (by tram, train or foot), and also on what to see and where to eat. What more could you wish for?
Nancy is an amazing host. We came back to her apartment before our trip home and it was amazing the second time around.
What is there to say about Nancy that hasn't been said by previous visitors. The location of her apartment is perfect. It is one metro stop from the main station and not too far of a walk to the Northern Quarter. The apartment is exactly the way it is described in the listing- it is modern, clean and homey. The view of the city was beautiful- you can see the ferris wheel from the room!
As for Nancy- she is a wonderful host, extremely welcoming and friendly. She provided recommendations on where we should eat and left us fresh pastries every morning. She is a great host and a high recommendation for anyone traveling to Manchester. Thank you so much Nancy for hosting us.
We had a wonderful stay at Nancy's apartment; it is the perfect base for exploring Manchester as it is so centrally located. Nancy made us feel very welcome on arrival - the tea and biscuits she left out for us were very much appreciated after our train journey! She also left us some fresh pastries with breakfast which was a lovely touch. The building backs onto a canal which makes for a nice walk into town if it's sunny. There is not much in the surrounding neighbourhood itself but this doesn't matter as it's so easy to get into the city centre - there is a tram stop literally right outside the building! We would definitely stay here again - hopefully for longer next time!
I couldn't have hoped for a more comfortable stay at Nancy's beautiful home.
The room is just as pictured, and the bathroom wouldn't look out of place in a luxury hotel.
Nancy is a pleasure and a natural host. To top it all off, there is a tram stop on the doorstep. I couldn't recommend staying here more highly.
Nancy was a great host. She looked after us very well. She gave us lots of tips about getting around the city and gave us a lovely breakfast.
After a great Airbnb experience as a guest in Valencia, I decided to try it myself as a host. I love that there's always someone different to stay, people travelling from all over the world, all with a story to tell!
I love exploring and experiencing new places and am always grateful for recommendations on places to see/ eat/ drink from locals! I try to do the same for my guests; if guests need recommendations I always try and suggest somewhere I think they’d like, based on what they’ve told me. It makes me feel a bit like a tourist in my own city, and definitely makes me appreciate Manchester more!
