Our home was built in 1848 and comes with all of the charm of a historic home. Our guest room is comfortable with a cozy feather duvet on the queen sized bed. An air mattress is available upon request. In the morning enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast. Free WiFi.

The space
Our home is a family home, warm and inviting. In the wintertime we have a wood stove to enjoy. We have many board games you are welcome to play around the kitchen table or just sit back and enjoy a hot chocolate, tea or coffee. There’s usually a homemade cookie to be had as well. :)

Guest access
The bathroom and kitchen are shared spaces. Feel free to bring your own food and prepare a meal in our well equipped kitchen . In the morning the kitchen table will be set for you to enjoy a continental breakfast of toast, cereal, muffins or sweet bread, tea or coffee (included in the room price). Thank you.

Other things to note
We have two Basset Hounds, a Cocker Spaniel and a cat. They love people so we hope you will love them too.

We live within a five minute walk to a wharf where you can see fishing boats tied up at dock as well as a six minute drive to a 2km long white sandy beach. While you’re here you should stop to see the Baccarro lighthouse. We live 20 minutes from Barrington, NS where you will find a Tim Horton’s, MacDonalds, Subway, Pizza Delight, two grocery stores, JB’s Family Restaurant and a Chinese food restaurant in addition to various other businesses. If you are visiting during the winter months feel free to try our snow shoes out on a local trail. During the summer months lawn chairs are available to take to the nearby beach. The historic town of Shelburne is just a short 25 minute drive away where you can step back in time and visit a dory building museum and the Ross Thompson house. Cape Sable Island is accessed by a causeway from Barrington and is a beautiful place to explore its many beaches and bird watching areas.

My husband and I are elementary and middle school teachers and parents to three adult children. We have two sweet dogs and a loving cat. We love to travel and see new places. When we travel we always stay at B&Bs and enjoy meeting new people. Our B&B is called Welcome Home because we want everyone who stays with us to feel like they’re coming home.
