Nancy was a wonderful host! She agreed to an early check-in, which really helped. The guest house was cute, clean, and even had some fresh-baked banana bread! There is a private patio and a couple of bikes for guests--perfect, because the neighborhood that Nancy lives in is very bike-able. You can easily get to campus and downtown.
Another great stay at the Desert Poppy! Nancy and Chris are awesome and very accommodating. The place is very clean and comfortable--especially with that new couch! A great place to get away. Thanks for everything!!
Staying here is a much better experience than staying in a hotel. You have all the expected amenities that AirBnB provides to its customers, but Nancy has made this place a wonderful "signature"of Tucson living. It is adorned with cool eclectic local artwork, colors, and plants. It is impeccibly kept and every corner feels homney and comfortable. It was so nice to get a real sense of the Tucson lifesyle staying in such a great location and quiet neigborhood. Nancy is a wonderful host, as well as an accomplished crafter and designer.
Thanks Nancy - we really enjoy your place and great hospitality! The Desert Poppy Inn is a gem and our Tucson favorite. Will hope to be back soon. Best wishes, Clara
Perfect location. Perfect owners. Perfect place.
My first time stay using Airbnb was at the U of A Desert Poppy Guest House and all I can say is WOW! Nancy was very prompt and professional in the booking process and the home itself was amazing. It is located right next to the U of A, in walking distance to the mall and everything else you could possibly want to access. The home was very clean, comforting, not missing a single amenity of home itself. The fact that we were greeted with baked pumpkin bread didn't hurt either! I highly recommend Desert Poppy, thanks Nancy!
Nancy was such a wonderful host and the house was great. She has it stocked up nicely and the place is very clean and cozy. She checked in with us regularly and we definitely felt take care of. Thanks again Nancy!
This was our first Airbnb experience and It was outstanding! The Desert Poppy had everything we needed and more - a cozy guest house, convenient location to the U of A, bicycles to borrow and a host who thought of everything! Nancy has set the bar high and we are already planning a return stay!
What a great gem in Tucson. Fantastic little 2 bedroom, that while I only stayed for one night I would have easily felt at home in for a month or more. Nancy was easy to work with and the location, the finishes, the beds, the bathroom, the sitting room, the patio, and the kitchen were all excellent. Thanks Nancy!
We were looking for a two-bedroom home close to the U of Arizona campus, ideally in the Sam Hughes neighborhood. We hit a home run with Desert Poppy Guest House. We could walk or bike to campus and enjoy a sweet little adobe house, totally private, with everything we could possibly need to enjoy our time there. Nancy Avery left us a basket of snacks and fruit and even baked us a loaf of pumpkin bread. Such wonderful hospitality! She was flexible on our check-in time, easy to reach, and responded quickly when we had a problem. This was our first Airbnb experience, and Nancy has set the bar high for our next host. For its central location, wonderful amenities, and thoughtful host, we highly recommend Desert Poppy Guest House. We will definitely be staying there again.
