Very convienient location, within easy reach of Dublin city, short walk from house to bus stop and train nearby. Close to M50 for travel all over Ireland.
Early Georgian, circa 1740. Please note if you are interested in staying here this is not a hotel. It is a family home. It is also very reasonably priced. Please see similar type homes on Airbnb at almost twice the price.
The reason for this is that the house is not in top notch condition. It means guests can afford, if they choose, to stay in a house like this for a very reasonable rate which they would not otherwise afford on a limited budget. These houses cost a lot of money to run. We cannot afford central heating at 800 euro a month for 4 hours a day. Bedrooms are warm as is diningroom. We have learnt to live with the cold and electric heaters and at 40 euro a night do the maths!Choose a travel Lodge to stay In , without breakfast , or a hostel in Dublin for your budget. If you want the experience of an old house with pleasing aesthetics and a friendly welcome we are very happy to host you!
The house is gracious, comfortable, eclectic, historic, unique.
Two double bedrooms are currently offered as bed and breakfast, one with ensuite bathroom and the other with a private bathroom (bath) near the bedroom.
Fully cooked breakfast included in price. Wifi available (free). Short walk into village where you will find restaurants, pubs and cafes. Local shop for papers.
Dublin airport is about 30 mins away.
The Leixlip Festival takes place every June bank Holiday Weekend Where you'll find lots of live entertainment in pubs, several open-air concerts, and there os also a street carnival.
The theme for the festival is 'The Arrival of the Vikings' .
Leixlip Castle. dates back from 1172, and is one of the oldest continuously-inhabited buildings in Ireland, pre-dating Dublin Castle by 30 years. Definitely worth a visit too!
Review : " Perfect balance between relaxing getaway and city trip. I doubt if better
value is to be found in the general Dublin area." April 2012
Bij aankomst was Caroline erg hartelijk.
De kamer zag er precies zo uit, als op de foto, evenals de badkamer. De buurt kende ik al, daar mijn zoon in Leixlip werkt, en ik al eerder op bezoek was bij hem
We had a very brief visit to Leixlip for the night & Stayed with Caroline. We had a comfortable stay. Caroline is a very friendly & hospitable host & Served a fine breakfast next morning. She very helpful in getting my kindle back to me after I left it behind. Thank you Caroline.
It was a great experience staying in this lovely house. First thanks to Caroline; she was at every moment helpful and pleasent to talk with, but at the same time gives you total liberty to move in and out and have your own space. And because her excellent Irish Brekfast of every morning, of course!
Second because of the house, a beauty, in a lovely place, very quiet and at walking distance from Intel, HP and Leixlip. All in all an experience that for me sets it apart from most other B&Bs I have been in. I will remember this one!
I loved staying in this Georgian House. The ambience was warm and the hostess very professional and cheerfull. Room was very confortable and breakfast very good.
