Enjoy Tulum in our newly built tropical casita. We are solar powered and offer all the comforts of home, including a/c, wifi, iPod Dock, full kitchen, outdoor lounge furniture and a 15x30 private jungle pool. All this is surrounded by 10ft walls for your security.
Our new casita is the perfect private getaway for two. It has modern polished concert finishing and the tzalam wood details make it simply gorgeous.
You will enjoy a comfortable spacious room, with a kingsize bed and a small sitting area. The adjoining spa like bathroom is bright and airy. Right outside your bedroom sliding doors is a 500sq ft patio with a large dining table and chairs. Two wooden loungers with cushions are also close by. Your fully equipped kitchen is an outdoor kitchen but completely protected from the rain. In it you will find a full compliment of dishes and pots and pans, as well as an induction stove, bar fridge and several small appliances.
The yard is surrounded on all sides by a 10ft wall, so enjoy your stay in complete security. We also have two large dogs that help keep our place secure. They are loving and friendly with our guests.
In the yard you'll find a 15x30 ft pool with a jetted tub area as well as an excellent shelf for sunbathing. Help yourself to the bananas on the trees, if they're in season. If you have a rental car, there is plenty of parking in the street in front of our house.
Interaction with Guests
You will enter your space via the front gate of our house. There is a path beside the house that gives you the access to the casita property. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have during your stay here. We live full time in the house adjoining the casita property. Any issues or questions that arise will be dealt with immediately.
Our neighborhood is at the very southern end of Tulum. We have a good mixture of locals and expats all living in our area. I have found everyone to be super friendly and always willing to lend a hand or answer any questions. There are two corner stores within a five minute walk from the house if you need something quickly. The main supermarket is about a 10 minute drive across town but there are other small markets along the wat that are in easy walking distance
Because we live at the far edge of town, a car would definitely be an asset. However, there are many taxis driving through our neighborhood at any given time. Bike rentals are also close by. If you decide to walk, there are number of good restaurants and small markets within about a 15 min walk.
Other Things to Note
Everybody wants to know how close we are to the beach and if we're walking distance. The town of Tulum runs parallel to the beach and there is about a 2km drive between them. If you choose to rent at the beach, you will pay more per night and everything else as well. There are no grocery stores in the hotel zone at the beach. The other option is to stay in town. Some places are definitely closer to the beach road than others but none are a comfortable walking distance. The advantages of renting in town are the lower cost of rentals but also your meals and drinks are cheaper by more than half. There is a huge grocery store at the beginning of town where you can get all the things you need. Our casita is situated at the far end of town. So perhaps another 1.5 km. Tulum is a small town, so where ever you decide to stay in town, you will be within walking distance to all the great restaurants and bars our town has to offer.
Our lovely casita is is most suited for 2 people who want privacy and security, or for the single person, traveling alone. It is a wild party free zone. We are also a smoke free rental.
Lore and Larry are wonderful hosts! The casita is lovely and the pool was such a treat at the end of each day. The place looks a lot bigger in person and the A/C was so nice to have at night. I highly recommend staying here and following Lore's recommendations on what to do and where to go. We will definitely be back!
Lore is one of those hosts that makes everything so special. Her attention to detail is immaculate. The house is cleaned daily and all amenities are offered: TV · WIFI · HIFI · Private Swimming Pool... and even fresh coconut water if wanted!!! Lore makes AIRBNB a great experience.
We had a wonderful visit at the Casita. The photos are merely a taste of what a refuge it is. We loved awaking to the greenery and welcoming pool. We had a car with us, but one of the best seafood restaurants (El Camejo, Jr.) is just a few minutes walk away. Indeed, you can walk in to Tulum Pueblo in about 15-20 minutes. Many shops and restaurants there, also a very good produce store just on the way in to town. The bedroom was so comfortable and the walk-in shower could host a small party it is so huge! We had the happy accident of having a full moon while we were there and showering under a full moon thru skylights is fab. Lore made us feel immediately at home and welcome. Swimming in the pool at night, nearly every day and early morning as well as sunbathing on the days we wanted to not be on the beaches was so great. There are many birds that welcome you every day in the neighborhood by visiting the trees in and around the property also. One very early morning at sunrise we even saw a monkey lurking about the yard. Highly recommended.
We stayed at the Coconut Grove Casita for 3 nights in March and loved it! the place is just as described. After a long drive to Tulum, it was so nice to arrive at Lore's house and be welcomed in to our own place with an awesome private pool. Lore is such a good host - she was only too happy to provide us with info and recommendations on what to do in Tulum - really helpful for us as we only had a few days in town. Would have loved to have stayed longer and could have very easily lazed around the pool for a couple of days! Lore has 2 dogs which are both awesome - we got to hang out with the very friendly Coco a couple of times. The location is at one end of Tulum town - we had a car but if you rented a bicycle or wanted to use cabs it would also be pretty easy to get around - lots of good food and drinks nearby and a 10-15 minute drive down to the beach.
This place was completely awesome, the pictures don't do it justice. Lore and her husband are great hosts. If you are a dog lover you're in luck because there are 2 beautiful dogs on the property (if you're not a dog lover, don't worry, as the room/pool you rent are totally private). Everything was beautiful, clean, and new. A little far from the beach, but not really a big deal. If you're looking for somewhere great to stay while visiting Tulum, this is the place.
Lore and her husband Larry were very welcoming and helpful hosts! The casita was gorgeous with an amazing private pool. We got to know one their dogs, Coco - it was a treat to spend time with her! Beach towels, wi-fi, a pre-paid cell phone for local use, and plenty of purified water was provided (and even more amenities we didn't make use of). The photos and description are a great match - I say even more lovely in person! It is in a quieter part of Tulum, but just off the a main road that goes into downtown (walkable, a quick bike ride, or a cheap taxi ride). We had bike lights and headlamps with us for walking and riding at night, but even saw a flashlight in the room for guest use.
I became sick our last night there, and was very ill upon waking up on our check out day. Lore and Larry were very understanding and let me rest until the early afternoon. Lore also provided me with some natural remedies. My traveling partner, Maria, loved staying there as well and adored Lore and Larry and their dogs. We would definitely stay with them again if in Tulum! We wish we could've stayed longer.
Coconut Grove Casita was an oasis among the ruins! The kitchen was equipped with Cuisinart pots, real dishes, silverware. The spa like bathroom was delightful plus the huge bedroom complete with a comfy memory foam bed. Lore was the best hostess ever & it reflected in our need for nothing as she had already done that. Lore’s attention to detail is comparable to the Four Seasons Hotels. The gardens, pool are right off the cover of a travel magazine. We LOVED our stay with Coconut Grove Casita!
I've been living in Mexico with my husband for a year and a half now. We love it here and are excited to share our experience with you. I am very much a naturalist and have been able to source out all kinds of places to get the clean and healthy foods. Happily, there are many good places to find quality food and chemical free products.
We also have found quite a few cool beaches and places to visit that are not on the normal tourist's list. We look forward to making your visit here a unique and memorable time.
