We live in the house, it is a pleasure to help our guests and answer all the questions they might have. We are happy to make your stay enjoyable.
The house is situated in a unique and old garden house community with colorful, handmade houses with gardens. It is very closed to the city and in the summer you can take a 5 minutes bike ride and take a swim in Copenhagen´s clean harbor. If you would like to spend time out in the nature, in walking distance ( 5 min) you can go to Tippen which is a preserved area with wild sheeps, or go for a walk to valby park with its beautiful theme gardens such as the rose garden. From here you can go to the local sailing clubs which offers good Danish for for a reasonable price. A 10 minute bike ride will lead you to Vesterbro neighborhood ( which is a young and trendy area of Copenhagen with lots of great cafes and restaurants) closed to the city center and the famous Tivoli amusement park. At night you can visit the new bars and art galleries in the meatpacking district.
10 minutes from here is Sjælør station, with trains 3 stops from the central station. Buses to the center of town are 5 minutes away. We suggest that you borrow our bikes and explore Copenhagen for Free.
DIRECTIONS FROM THE AIRPORT:
The airport is 25 minutes away, and we suggest the following transportation:
Take the train to Copenhagen central station (15 min) then change here for the local S-tog - TRAIN A or E towards Køge and get off at Sjælør Station (3rd stop). When you come out from the station go right and follow Sjælør Boulevard ,go left at Wagnersvej ,hold to the right and you will enter Thomas Koppels Alle after 200 meter. Then its the F trail and nr.126. ( The walk takes about 10 min.) Taxi from the aiport to the house is 15 minutes.
Other Things to Note
The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet and if you have children, you can use the local playgrounds in the area. Across the street we have a stable with horses, rabbits, goats and chicken, a total country side near the city.
We don´t have any house rules. You can use the garden for smoking. Have Courtesy for the host and enjoy your stay.
Les and I arrived to a charming and cozy room with fresh cut flowers on a tabletop. The house is situated 5km from the old town and we were provided with bikes. We used the bikes for 2 days and it made our stay unforgettable. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The food prepared by Gitta was delicious.
If you don't mind sharing the bathroom with your host than I would recommend this place for staying in Copenhagen.
Outgoing Gitte welcomed us with open arms and tea even before we could open our suitcases. She accompanied us to a local out-of-the-way restaurant to be sure we'd find the way, and assured us that it was the kind of authentic dining that Danes enjoy. She was right. Her breakfast was first class, and the conversations we had both mornings were wonderful. Top class in a cosy home in an interesting corner of metro Copenhagen.
Palle and Gitte are amazing! They make us feel at home!
All the details they share are with love. Room is comfortable, and with a nice garden view.
I got the recipies from Gitte of the homemade bread , muesli and delicious breakfast!
Location is original in a hidden neighborhood , bikes were very useful! and biking distance to the city center. I would recommed to stay here!
And I would love to stay with them in our next visit to Copenhage!
120%. Wir können diese Unterkunft nur weiterempfehlen.
Everything was as expected. Very very nice couple. Very helpful. The bicycles were great. The breakfast perfect. We had a great experience. Nothing negative at all.
We had a great time in Palles and Gittes beautiful garden home. Their place is very cozy and is located in a unique neighbourhood slightly outside the centre of Copenhagen. Palle and Gitte offered us their bikes to explore the city - this was the perfect opportunity to get around and delve into the unique spots of Copenhagen.
Gitte and Palle are wonderful people, with their hospitality they welcomed us in their home even though we arrived late in the night.
We enjoyed having breakfast - which by the way was very delicious - accompanied by funny conversations every morning!
Next time in Copenhagen, we definitely would choose to stay here again! We highly recommend staying in this charming garden home!
Palle and Gitte were wonderful! Such gracious hosts, and they did everything they could to make us feel welcome: from home cooked breakfast each morning to maps of the area and use of their bikes. Their place is a bit out of the city center, but the bikes made it easy to get around -- about 15 minutes to Vesterbro, and 20 to central station.
For me, it was worth the distance to see such a unique, beautiful, and in some ways hidden neighborhood. Their house is nestled in a community of garden homes. I'd never seen anything like it; it felt like a country retreat just steps from the city. Next time I'm in Copenhagen, I'd happily stay there again!
My name is Palle and I am a retired plumber. I live with my wife . We are very openminded and we like to travel. We are looking forward to open our home to travellers from all over the world.
