Interaction with Guests
My own apartment is on the first floor. I am working both in Kerns and also in Lucerne. I like to support you in getting to know the beautiful region.
Kerns is is a village in the canton Obwalden in Switzerland. Elevated at 1850 ft it is often called the "sun terrace". The Way of St. James or rather the Bruderklausen-Way passes by near the house. In the summertime, this idyllic place is an excellent starting point for hiking, mountaineering, climbing or biking tours. Lake Sarnen invites to a refreshing swim. Kerns also has the "Aquacenter" with swimming pools for adults and kids, and a wellness pool and sauna. It is where I am offering WaterShiatsu in the 34°C/93°F wellness pool. There are also possibilities of tennis, horse-riding and golf in the corner.
In the wintertime, Melchsee-Frutt, a scenic ski resort, can be reached in 20 minutes from the house to the bottom station of the gondola Stöckalp. The "Postauto"-Bus Stop leaves from around the corner, too, if you don't want to go by car.

In the village there is a supermarket and different bakeries, a Post Office and several taverns. On foot in 5 minutes above the house is a farmer's shop selling typical local products in a beutiful traditional atmosphere.
Lucerne/Luzern, the beautiful city at Lake Lucerne is well worth visiting with its wide cultural variety. It offers world class-concerts in Jean Nouvel’s KKL (culture & congress centre Lucerne) as well as theatres, art museums, several music festivals, the Fasnacht Carnival at the end of winter and many traditional Swiss custom festivals.
Lucerne is 20 minutes by car away, public transport ("Postauto"-bus and train) takes about 35 minutes. 45 minutes from Interlaken, 55 minutes from Zürich Airport, 75 minutes from Berne or Basle.
The public bus is reached in 3 Minutes from the house. From the next town,Sarnen, there is a train station direction Lucerne or Interlaken.
Description public transport from Lucerne to Kerns:
There are two different types of train between Lucerne and Sarnen: one is the "Interlaken-Express", it does not stop in between Lucerne and Sarnen and has around 15 Min. The other is the S-5, this train has around 30 Min to Sarnen (very beautiful panorama-view).
From Sarnen there is a bus 343 to Kerns. Exit "Chäli Burgflueh". From there it is 5 minutes by feet to my house: you go the same direction like the bus, first street after the tea shop left "Haltenstrasse" and suddenly the next little street at left. There you see my house on the right sight of the street with many coloured flags.
There is also another direction “Kerns Sand”. You can also take this and exit at "Kerns Post". From there it is 15 minutes by feet always up.
Kerns really is well connected with public traffic. The last bus from Sarnen is at 11:45 pm
In the evening it is only a little bus named "Abig-Bus" = Evening-Bus and there you have to tell the driver where you want to go. He only drive where he is asked for...;)
