Samuel was very kind, but we did't meet personally, his mother waited us in front of the house and gave us the key. Apartment is very comfortable and close to center, it has a perfect location, great neighborhood and nearby rue Mouffetard is really nice street with lots of everything you need to feel Paris. Absolutely brilliant choice to couple, definitely come back here. Thanks, Samuel!
Samuel is a very obliging host. The flat is very clean and tall enough for two persons. He also has some great tourist informations and other reasonable hints printed for his guests.
Me and my boyfriend stayed in Paris for about 5 days and really enjoyed this Studio.
Had a very nice stay in February of 2014.
The apartment is very nice and comfortable. The location is perfect. The metro is less than 5 minute walk. Mouffetard is also very close and it is perfect for dinner. We were two girls and it was what we needed, thanks Samuel we had a great time!
I stayed at Samuel's studio in January 2014 and was delighted with the accommodation. The location of the studio is absolutely perfect, the studio was exactly as described, with great wifi and Samuel was the perfect host; quick communication, provided linen and towels upon request, met us at the designated time and answered any queries we had. I would not hesitate to use this apartment again. Thanks Samuel for a great stay!
Excellent. Bon endroit, bon quartier ! Propre et sympa
My husband and I stayed in Samuels flat over New Years Eve. Samuel was very friendly and accommodating, meeting us early on check in day. The place was exactly as advertised. Small but sufficient with everything we needed to enjoy a simple home base in a safe and interesting neighborhood. Great internet service which we used to stream a movie when we were a bit under the weather, and kitchen equipped with all necessities to make dinner in one night. Just a few steps away from Rue Mouffetard, which has every type of vendor you can imagine selling fresh cheese, meat, baked good, fish, and even pasta. Wonderful part of the city to come back to after exploring each day. We would definitely rent from Samuel again.
English version (français à suivre): This small unit is entirely serviceable for one or at most two people looking for a quiet retreat on a fairly calm street. Located in a neighborhood that has the feel of a much smaller town (Square Saint-Médard and Rue Mouffetard offer both village charm and first-rate shopping for fruits, vegetables, gourmet cheeses, meats, fish, bread, and pastries), the studio is within walking distance of both the Panthéon and the Jardin du Luxembourg, with two Métro stations nearby (Gobelins and Censier-Daubenton). And a number of good bistros and cafés line the adjoining streets. The unit has been upgraded recently (new flooring, tile, and windows), and the furnishings are somewhat spartan, in the Ikea manner. Though bedding linens are provided, the lack of bath towels, dishtowels, or even a roll of paper towels seemed to us a bit stingy. But the separate, eat-in kitchen is large and fairly well equipped, enabling you to prepare meals fresh from the markets along Mouffetard. One downside is that the building has no elevator, and the second-floor studio (third floor for Americans) is accessed via a narrow, winding stairway (a definite minus if you're traveling with small children or impaired individuals for whom such steps pose a challenge). Another negative is mold around the shower, leaving a dank smell all-too-common in such small places that lack sufficient ventilation. These are minor drawbacks, however, making the studio a good option for visitors on a budget seeking a taste of the real Paris.
If you are comfortable with an apartment that is cozy, clean, and offers basic necessities then you'll be perfectly happy here; we were. The neighborhood is safe and it's just around the corner from several Universities, so it has a college town feel - young and happy. It's within walking distance to great restaurants, shops, and sites. And it's a short walk to Metro.
Samuel was very sweet. His response times were prompt and he gave us good information to get us started on our first trip to Paris. He was also available if we had questions later, but we didn't :-)
Just a quick note, you may want to bring your own towels or request them early.
I would definitely stay here again.
We had a wonderful time staying at Samuel's studio in the 5e. It was tidy and clean, and had everything we needed - a well-equiped kitchen, separate bathroom and toilet, and a lounge/bedroom with a very comfortable fold-out bed. The area is one of my favourites in Paris - great vibe, picturesque, really close to the food market, great cafes, bars, and a Vélib station just outside the apartment. Samuel was a lovely and welcoming host.
