Staying at the Trastevere Panoramic Loft was our first AirBnB experience--and it was fantastic! Stefano kindly arranged for us to be picked up at the airport...which was a huge help after flying for so many hours from California. Our friendly driver met us outside customs and delivered us to the apartment.
Stefano greeted us, along with his father, and quickly helped get us situated--explaining about the apartment, answering our questions about buses, trains, stores, etc. He gave us excellent restaurant recommendations, too. Thank you, Stefano! You made us feel very welcome.
The apartment was perfect for us. It's located near so many great places of interest--Trastevere, the Vatican, Campo dei Fiori, night life, restaurants, a gorgeous hillside for exploring--and it's also nestled in a very quiet neighborhood. We loved being near so many things but away from the noise at night. Although the apartment has AC, we didn't need it because we could sleep with the windows open. You could hear the birds in the morning. Very nice.
The beds were all very comfortable. We are fairly tall people with one son who is 6'4". While the upstairs loft has lower ceilings in areas, he maneuvered it just fine. Also, the kids liked having their own floor to themselves. (Our kids are older, adult-sized.)
More about the apartment. The bathrooms are nice. As someone else mentioned in their review, the showers are vertically compact but this is a common design in some Italian apartments. Also, the kitchen is a little small for 5 big people so we mostly only ate a quick breakfast in it or used it to prepare snacks. We did cook dinner one night in the apartment and ate around the dining room table. However we preferred to eat in one of the many great neighborhood restaurants...especially after a long day of walking. The apartment wifi was excellent, the washer and drying rack very convenient, and the furnishings comfortable.
It always felt welcoming to return to the Loft after a long day's excursion. Even the neighborhood cats got used to us.
Other helpful things: there's a friendly alimentari just around the corner where we purchased breakfast supplies, fruit, wine and other snacks most days...there's a nearby tabac where we purchased bus tickets...and the #116 electric bus picks you up about two blocks from the apartment (the bus goes to the Borghese Museum, among other places on its route).
Like I said, the apartment was perfect for us--just what we wanted. And being nestled near the hillside added to our experience. Plus Stefano was very welcoming and helpful. He even arranged our taxi to the train station for our departure. Thank you, again, Stefano, for helping to make our stay in Rome so enjoyable!

The apartment was wonderful and very spacious for our family of 5. Location was outstanding- in a real neighborhood (not touristy), but close to tons of restaurants and easy walk across the bridge to the city. Stefano was incredibly friendly and helpful with great tips about Rome! Only negatives were lots of steps up to apartment and a pretty tiny shower, but all part of the fun! Highly recommend!
Grazie Stefano, it was a great stay in Rom, the apartment was perfect.
Stefano was great to work with, and we really enjoyed his home. The area was quiet, and about 10-15 minute walk to the Vatican. By bus 23 you can go from the Ottaviano metro stop to the Piramide metro stop, with the stop for Stefano's house in about the middle. This was helpful to know.
The bedding was nice for all 6 of us, and the facitilies in good order. There were 2 bathrooms (each with shower and toilet) and a washing machine. It is important to note that the dryer was not a mechanical dryer, but rather a clothing hanger (air dry) system. The loft area was particularly nice for the kids/teenagers as well.
The house was clean and in good order. The kitchen was also nice. Stefano met us and give us good help on directions, and helped with our hiring of a taxi for return to the airport on our check-out day.
Thanks Stefano for the nice stay.
Nice, quiet and close to the sites to visit. The neighborhood is very Roman without the "tourist" overload.
About the Host, Stefano
