My home is on the "near west side," centrally located, half a block away from #3 and #19 major bus lines, walking distance to campus and Capitol,on a beautiful historic residential street. 100 year old Craftsman style house with a grand piano, fresh uncluttered space, and many updates. Your room is upstairs with a good-sized shared bath. I'm a music professor at UW-Madison and am happy to share my home with a non-smoker who likes an old house with modern conveniences. Free Wi-fi, of course, and cable television. Flat-screen HDTV is in your bedroom as well as on the front porch.
I have a well-stocked cupboard with all kinds of breakfast things, and am happy to honor requests made in advance. You are welcome to use the kitchen for your own cooking adventures!
I have a lovely back yard fenced garden with close access to the bike path. Wingra Lake and park is a block away. The house is three blocks from Trader Joe's and many coffee shops and restaurants, including a great Belgian beer restaurant and an Irish pub. It's simply a great, desirable area close to all parts of UW-Madison, UW Hospital, Meriter and St. Mary's Hospital. I have no pets, so it's perfect for an allergy free stay - I also have bicycles for your use. Excellent coffee awaits you, or the perfect cup of tea.
I have all kinds of maps and touristy things for your use, and are happy to serve as impromptu tour guides as time allows. Parking is free on the street and always available.
Kid-friendly house can accommodate one additional person in the trundle bed. Well behaved dogs are welcome if we discuss it in advance. When you book, please tell me a bit about yourself and why you are visiting Madison. For security reasons, I also ask that you complete your Airbnb profile (bio, photo, etc.) before sending us a request. Thank you!
I stayed with Stéphanie for over a month, and it was an absolute delight. Her home is warm, clean and welcoming, and the room is cozy. It is also walking distance from the university, which was perfect for (website hidden)éphanie was an amazing host: helpful, friendly and warm, but never overbearing. She and her son made me feel perfectly relaxed and at home during the whole stay, and I left feeling more as a friend and a part of the family than someone renting a room. Thank you!
I can't recommend this one enough! The home is beautiful and in a great neighborhood. Downtown is a short bike or bus ride, and there are plenty of restaurants and cafe's close by. Stephanie and her son Trace made me feel instantly welcome and at home. Will definitely be back to visit again!
This is my first time using Airbnb. Hospitality of the host is beyond words. Stephanie's place is private, cosy and comfortable. And she was nice to make breakfast! Wonderful experience.
Stephanie was a wonderful host when I visited Madison for three weeks. She was warm, friendly and helpful and gave me advice on what to see and do during my stay. She also lent me a bike I could use whenever I wanted, thanks! My room had everything I wanted and I had access to the rest of the house as well. I felt welcome from the first second until I left, and it was easy to feel at home in Stephanie's wonderfully decorated house. The location was good with a grocery store nearby. I would recommend her as a host to all my friends and family if they ever go to Madison. Hope to see you again!
I really enjoyed staying with Stephanie! The room was so comfortable [and it had air-conditioning..score!] and her house is so hospitable and beautifully decorated. Stephanie is so warm and friendly and even shared a midnight snack with me after a particularly long day and we had a lovely conversation. I had a wonderful time!
I had a great time in Madison and Stephanie definitely contributed to that by sharing some good ideas about what to do. The room was clean and comfortable. Stephanie also offered me a spontaneous ride to the bus station on my way back.
We very much enjoyed our stay with Stephanie & her son Trace.
Both were accommodating beyond expectation making the visit in Madison with our son & family a memorable time together.
Stephanie was super friendly and communicative. Her house is gorgeous and very convenient to both downtown and campus. Couldn't have asked for better host, service or location. I was absolutely spoiled!
Perfect location and great host! Stephanie's house is only a half mile (.8 km for you Europeans) from great little shops, coffee houses, restaurants and -- my favourite -- Trader Joe's. And you can walk to State St/Memorial Union area in just 30 minutes. You can even borrow a bike or take the bus from the very nearby stop.
The house is cool -- full of interesting art pieces, photos and other small details -- and Stephanie is just as fun. She has a lot of good stories and can offer plenty of suggestions for places to eat, running/biking trails, farmers' markets, shoe stores, etc. Oh, and the room has a TV and small A/C unit, which I gladly took full advantage of during the humid 90 degree July heat!
Overall, just stay here. You won't regret it.
My stay with Stephanie was excellent! She was very welcoming and accommodating and just a fun person to talk to. The house was in a very safe area, within walking distance to the UW campus and downtown Madison, as well as being a stone's throw away from a bus stop.
I really enjoyed my stay, especially having never done Airbnb before.
