My home is on the "near west side," centrally located, half a block away from #3 and #19 major bus lines, walking distance to UW Hospital, UW campus and Wisconsin State Capitol,on a beautiful historic residential street. 100 year old Craftsman style house with a grand piano, fresh uncluttered space, and many updates. Your room is upstairs with a good-sized shared bath. I'm a music professor at UW-Madison and am happy to share my home with a non-smoker who likes an old house with modern conveniences. Free Wi-fi, of course, and cable television.
I have a well-stocked cupboard with all kinds of breakfast things, and am happy to fulfill dietary requests made in advance. You are welcome to use the kitchen for your own cooking adventures!
I have a lovely back yard fenced garden with close access to the bike path. Wingra Lake and park is a block away. My home is three blocks from Trader Joe's grocery store, and many coffee shops, pubs and restaurants, including a great Belgian beer restaurant and an Irish pub. Close to all research facilities. I have no pets, so it's perfect for an allergy free stay - I also have bicycles for your use. Excellent coffee awaits you, or the perfect cup of tea.
I have all kinds of maps and touristy things for your use, and are happy to serve as impromptu tour guides as time allows. Parking is free on the street and always available.
Kid-friendly house can accommodate one additional person in the trundle bed. Well behaved dogs are welcome if we discuss it in advance. Stephanie offers excellent accommodation, in every way. She is an unique host. Absolutely recommended.
We had a lovely time with Stephanie, much too short! Her home is warm and generous, colorful and inviting! Hope to see you again soon!

Stayed with Stephanie when I was in Madison for a conference--she was a charming hostess. The room was very comfortable & clean. I enjoyed getting to know her a bit, she made me feel welcome & accommodated a couple of special requests. Also recommended an excellent restaurant & suggested I go to an opera in which she was performing--wonderful experience! I would definitely stay at Stephanie's again.
I you ever need a place to stay in Madison, WI, you should definitely consider staying with Stephanie. She doesn't just provide you with a room to sleep in, she really does a fantastic job letting you be 'part of the house and its occupants'.
The house is really close to the city center (whether you drive by bike or take the bus) but is situated in this nice and quiet neighbourhood. The house is very cosy, clean, you get a very nice room and you can use anything you need; you're not staying there, but LIVING there!
Stephanie lets you feel at home all the time! She buys beers and wine to share with you while watching tv, she brings you into contact with wonderful people to do just amazing things (from attending Mozart's Requiem to going for a drink (email hidden)), she let's you use one of the most amazing bikes to drive around in town, she makes delicious deserts, drives you around and shows the highlights you should really visit, and so on!
The mean experience I really want to share is that living with Stephanie doesn't make you feel like a tourist anymore. You really get to experience Madison and all of its beauty almost as part of the community, which is absolutely great!
No doubts that any of Stephanie's future guests will love their stay as much as I did. Stephanie, thank you so much for the amazing 6 weeks!
I stayed with Stéphanie for over a month, and it was an absolute delight. Her home is warm, clean and welcoming, and the room is cozy. It is also walking distance from the university, which was perfect for me. Stéphanie was an amazing host: helpful, friendly and warm, but never overbearing. She and her son made me feel perfectly relaxed and at home during the whole stay, and I left feeling more as a friend and a part of the family than someone renting a room. Thank you!
I can't recommend this one enough! The home is beautiful and in a great neighborhood. Downtown is a short bike or bus ride, and there are plenty of restaurants and cafe's close by. Stephanie and her son Trace made me feel instantly welcome and at home. Will definitely be back to visit again!
This is my first time using Airbnb. Hospitality of the host is beyond words. Stephanie's place is private, cosy and comfortable. And she was nice to make breakfast! Wonderful experience.
Stephanie was a wonderful host when I visited Madison for three weeks. She was warm, friendly and helpful and gave me advice on what to see and do during my stay. She also lent me a bike I could use whenever I wanted, thanks! My room had everything I wanted and I had access to the rest of the house as well. I felt welcome from the first second until I left, and it was easy to feel at home in Stephanie's wonderfully decorated house. The location was good with a grocery store nearby. I would recommend her as a host to all my friends and family if they ever go to Madison. Hope to see you again!
I really enjoyed staying with Stephanie! The room was so comfortable [and it had air-conditioning..score!] and her house is so hospitable and beautifully decorated. Stephanie is so warm and friendly and even shared a midnight snack with me after a particularly long day and we had a lovely conversation. I had a wonderful time!
