I would like to thank everyone at Bangrak house and the Enjoy bistro you all for their hospitality. It was a very pleasurable stay. I will contact you when I'm next in Bangkok.
Mac and Noi were so friendly and welcoming to us. They gave us many suggestions for what to do around Bangkok as well as help us with basic Thai phrases. The guesthouse was easy to reach from the airport and an easy location for getting around Bangkok. We enjoyed the local atmosphere of the streets around the guesthouse, instead of staying in a touristy area. There were plenty of interesting street food stalls and massage rooms nearby. The pub owned by Mac and Noi was delicious. I recommend the coconut heart salad! If you enjoy a laid back atmospher and want to stay near the happenin' river, this is the place for you.
Happy New Years!!! Thanks for staying with us! We had so much fun with you guys too.You are such a lovely couple & you both brought us such a nice chill glow to our wee pub & home. If you ever have a free moment do write us a review on tripadvisor bangkok 'Enjoy Bkk Bistro & Bar'
Cheers you made me smile thanks for taking the time to write us your kind words.
Very Best regards Mac and Noi Happy Travels
Mi casa su casa!
First time in Thailand and traveling alone to meet up with my monk brother, I needed a quick place to stay and Mac and Noi came through - awesome...even waking him up early in the morning - he was a real host...map in hand which he gave me said I need to do the sky train and the river boats at a minimum - and touring my monk brother around I did just (email hidden)c was awesome even with 3 hours of sleep and forced me to jump in the fire and take the mass (email hidden)early a breeze. I would recommend their place and I would return.
A few notes from our stay:
-It’s more of a guest house than a traditional AirBnB: there are several groups staying in various rooms and the owners live elsewhere. Not a bad thing, just set your expectations.
-The location of the guesthouse is great. It's right by both the river taxi and the bts skytrain, so it’s very easy to get to all the main attractions.
-The couple who runs it also run the Enjoy bar a couple blocks away. It’s a good place to pop over for a drink, but you might have to wait if you need something and they’re busy.
-There are rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors. (We stayed on both due to a double booking.) There is no bathroom on the 2nd floor, but the wifi doesn’t really reach the 3rd floor. Also the windows on the 3rd floor don’t open, so it’s by far the hottest. If you have a preference, it’s probably worth asking before you book (and remember that Air Con costs extra).
-This didn't affect us, but be prepared for a 200BHT fee for leaving your bag with them if you need to check out and then begin your onward travel later in the day.
Just lovely guests.Bangrak House 32 is a 100 year old completely restored house. These guests booked for fan to save on funds.Everyroom has optional new state of the art air conditioing. We have 9 giga bite streaming wifi.Depending on the device some lap tops and hand held devices have perfect signal & some weak on the 3rd floor. Fun to have them pop into 'Enjoy Bkk Bistro & Bar ' our wee pub here in Bangkok
Best regards Mac and Noi
I stayed at the Bangrak 32 for two nights and was very happy with the location as it is very close to the sky train and the river pier. I would say that the room was small and didnt have much light (as one light was broken) and you will need to share a bathroom with the rest of the inhabitants. The room has a slow moving fan, so the AC is a must for a restful sleep. This was the case when the weather was pleasant and mild outside. So budget that in to your room rent as it is an additional cost.
But that said, the room was clean and so was the bathroom. I did not have a phone, so it was a little difficult contacting Mac and Noi. Would have been nice to have gotten acquainted with the house through them. If you are looking for low cost, clean and well located place, I would say Bangrak 32 hits all these points.
I was looking for a simple and congenial place to stay, which is precisely what I found. Right in one of the busiest place in Bangkok, I was provided with all that was needed. Nick is a very welcoming chap.
Really really nice place. Room is great, shower too. Host is very friendly with a lot of tips (we found your massage place at 100bht. Really nice but a little far by walk 30min with bag).
We spend 2 days in that place and we had nothing to critic.
Our stay at Bangrak 32 was wonderful! You will not find better hosts than Mac & Noi.
Pros: comfortable bed, plenty of space, GREAT wifi, close to delicious restaurants and street food (and a 7-11), clean bathroom, hot water (or cold, since Bangkok is quite steamy on its own), very secure house, very effective A/C, and a TV/DVD player. Plus Noi arranged for our taxis to the airport at a fair price, and there were no issues picking me up at 3am. That alone was a big comfort!
Cons: 15-20 minute walk from the nearest SkyTrain station, and the neighbor's chickens get a little rowdy in the early-early morning. (But we had fun taking tuk-tuks from the station to the neighborhood, and got used to the chickens.)
Mac & Noi were very hospitable. Mac was especially helpful in taking my husband to find a pharmacy on his first night in Bangkok. He was also very quick to recommend great restaurants, a wonderful Thai massage place, and suggest things to do around Bangkok. Wish we had had more time!
Really the' Saphan Taksin' bts skytrain station is 150 meters a one minute walk directly across the street. Sorry if I did not do a better job of pointing the skytrain station out to you guys. You can see it across the street with the escalator running (website hidden) (website hidden)'s a great review thanks See you next time.Mi casa su casa.Cheers.If your agme we'd love a review for our pub Enjoy Bkk Bistro & Bar on tripadvisor. Cool Thanks for taking the time to give us a shout out and let everyone know we're here.
Truly great stay. Excellent location, walking distance to the sky train and river taxi, plenty of options to eat and buy things. The place is comfortable, I loved the fact I could go in a out anytime. The room has a fridge, very useful and always they provide fresh water. I only met Mac, he gave me super useful info on how to move around Bangkok, this helped me a lot to get the most of the City. Really nice experience. I trully recommended, specially if you want to be by yourself and like being independent.
Mac and Noi have become my dearest friends. They offer the most exclusive service and make one feel special at all times.
