This is a great spot to be based in Amsterdam, the main museums are within a 10 stroll, and central Amsterdam is within a 10 minute tram ride (if you stay out beyond midnight a taxi home will cost around 12-15 Euro). Of course, you could also go Dutch and rent a bike - of which there are local options with discount coupons in the room. The area is quiet, residential and safe. Great cafe's locally, I also got a fabulous pedicure at Soap (unfortunately I didn't book in advance with Ramona's salon) and found a brilliant children's toy shop locally. The room and facilities were clean and well presented - lovely soap products from Ramona's shop in the shower. The shower and toilet are not en-suite but are entirely for guest use so not an issue. There's a lovely little back-garden, which I found ideal for breakfast.
Ramona was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. She met me at the bus station, showed me around locally and was happy to answer any questions throughout the weekend. She also made sure there was a fresh supply of coffee for my early morning departure on Sunday.
I had a great stay and would definitely recommend this accommodation.
I had a very warm and friedly welcome. The description of the room agreed and the information about the The description of the accommodation agreed and the information was very good and sufficient. I've got great tips for shopping, sightseeing and places for eat and drinks. I would recommend it.
Vielen Dank nochmals!
Ramona's place is conveniently located, and despite being right on the street the room is quiet. Ramona is helpful, with good recommendations. She kindly provided coffee and tea and use of the kitchen.
The bed is comfortable, but it has two narrow duvets instead of one regular sized one which was weird and a bit awkward for two people to sleep under. Because the room, toilet and bathroom are off the narrow main hallway, it doesn't feel secluded or separate but it's fine.
Dear Nancy, in Europe 2 single duvets are standard instead of a double.
Why didnt you mentioned the first day that you prefer a double duvet you can share with your husband ? I would have given you one instantly .Being a host yourself you should now how frustation it is that you have to hear from guests after they left they where unhappy with something that could have been solved so easy.
I asked you the second day if you slept well and no "duvet issue" was mentioned...
