We are situated on a secluded, picturesque country road. The setting affords opportunities to experience the mystical lightning bug dance in spring, the starry sky on any clear night, autumn colors, nature's beautiful soundtrack, and the bounty of fields and forests.

Our cottage is very cozy. Ideal for anyone who wants easy access to Stone Ridge, New Paltz, High Falls, Rosendale, Kingston, and Woodstock while enjoying the tranquility of sleeping in the woods at night.

The space
A towering Norwegian Spruce marks the entrance to our driveway. The house is situated on 2 acres of mossy meadow and woodlands and is filled with mid-century modern furnishings, vintage artifacts, and art made by family and friends.
You will have access to the sunroom where breakfast is served by Melina (IACP award-winning food stylist+chef) the master suite, the deck, picnic table, and grounds. Your accommodation also comes with the option to book a seasonal 3- or 4-course dinner, featuring fresh food grown in our organic+heirloom garden, plus wild+local favorites.

Guest access
Located one flight up, the master suite is ideal for single travelers & couples. We use Coyuchi organic linens on the extra-comfortable queen-size bed. It is situated under a skylight set into the hand-painted eaved ceiling. You have your own walk-in closet and bathroom, stocked with organic, herbal body care products.

The deck is dotted with herbs, flowers, and veggies, many of which make an appearance in Melina's dishes. The raised bed kitchen gardens adds to the beauty as the seasons evolve. The picnic table is also available - either make an excellent place to meditate on the day, nature watch, or enjoy an evening cocktail.

A 2% NY-state occupancy tax is included within the booking fee
On Friday nights during the summer season, there are auto races at the local speedway, about a mile away.

Other things to note
We have 2 cats, one with a medical condition. For this reason, please no service animals, thank you.

We're creatives! Melina (@melinahammer) wears many hats: author of the new book, A Year at Catbird Cottage, chef, food stylist and photographer. She is driven by the diverse, robust, seasonal food available in the Hudson Valley, and the wild foods which feature throughout the seasons in their immediate neighborhood. Every meal is special and an adventure. Jim is also a photographer (@jimlafferty) and specializes in portraiture, beauty, and professional fitness and dance. He loves people - so many lives to connect to, so much talent to highlight, and captures the fleeting moments in an iconic manner.
