Location, Location, Location
Although The Urban Cottage is packed full of charm, its main attraction for Indianapolis visitors is its LOCATION. Located in the Historic Fletcher Place Neighborhood, it is less than a mile away from Lucas Oil Stadium (Colts Football!), Bankers Life Field house (Pacers Basketball), and the Convention Center (GenCon, FFA, and other conferences) and the City Center. Perfect location for Mini Marathon and Monumental Marathon participants. The Urban Cottage is also conveniently located to the airport, Indianapolis Motor Speedway (Indy 500, Brickyard 400, and Moto GP). There are many interesting LOCAL restaurants and breweries also within walking distance. Iaria's famous Italian restaurant is one block away and Sun King Brewery is one half mile away. A few local favorites!

I worked at a Bed and Breakfast throughout high school. It was a gorgeous 1885 Victorian Mansion with a breathtaking view. I ABSOLUTELY loved every minute of working there! Now-quite a few years later- I purchased a second house in Indianapolis as a creative space for writing and painting. My favorite feature of the house is the master bedroom floor. It is a lovely floral painted carpet (see attached photo) that was created as a collaborative effort between two of my friends. The house is truly charming! I found out about Air bnb a few months after I purchased the house and thought it would be fun to try it out. I would LOVE to share the space with others!

What an amazing place and host. Heather did everything she could to make our valentine weekend stay wonderful and romantic. This airbnb is a romantic paradise, listen to the trains go by at night, short drive or long walk to everything. Beautiful kitchen, cozy living room, amazing themed bedrooms and an awesome claw footed tub. Would stay here again. Thanks Heather for everything.
Heather's place was perfect for us. We were in Indy for a convention and needed a place to meet with clients. We picked up people from the downtown hotels and other than a little traffic on Monday around 5pm, the trip never took more than 10 minutes. We had three guests and utilized both bedrooms and the couch which was fine for sleeping. We used the large kitchen and living room as meeting spaces. The house has an artist's touch and is uniquely furnished. We'd definitely stay there again.
The place was clean, efficient, well appointed as well as centrally located. When we discovered Heather did not subscribe to the NFL network on her U-Verse entertainment system we gave her a call and she added it (email hidden) a result we all got to watch the Thursday night game. She also went above and beyond including a 6 pack of good beer, a decent bottle of wine and 3 kinds of coffee as well as an assortment of tea's. Finally there was a collection of soaps that while lost on us guys would have made my wife proud.
Heather was a great host, the location was perfect, the amenities were great and we even had a 6 pack waiting for us. Highly recommend both Heather and her place!
Greatest experience this summer!
Heather was an awesome host and which we could've met in person.
She left us with magazines, booklets, and notes on what to do locally!
You'll love the urban get-away and the cottage is so cozy that I would've enjoyed it on a rainy day!
If Bluebeard is still around Highly recommend the restaurant!
Lastly, cold BEER was on the fridge for us! Awesome! and locally brewed.
Loved the cottage deor and coziness of the space!! Very relaxing! A hidden Gem.
The Cottage was exactly as described, and Heather was easy to communicate with and made our stay very pleasant. If we were to stay at hotels next to the convention center, I was almost going to have to get a second mortgage, but the Cottage was close enough for walking or cab (about 3/4 mile) and tremendously more affordable and comfortable.
What a find! I surprised my wife with a night here on Valentine's Day. Heather's place is so quiet and relaxing. It truly felt like we got a quick night of vacation from our busy lives. Heather is amazingly gracious and opened up the use of every part of her home to us like we were old friends. My wife and I both agree that Heather's cottage will be our go to place here in town to periodically escape from the world and just relax. If I could rate more stars I would - you can't go wrong staying here.
Heather's cottage is the perfect location for a relaxing stay in Indianapolis! She was so hospitable- leaving a folder full of directions and recommendations, bottles of wine and beer, and plenty of food and fruit. She insisted that I help myself and thanked me for staying in her cottage.
The space was very comfortable and I looked forward to coming home each night to enjoy a drink and crawl into bed. The location is perfectly secluded yet only a $8 cab fare to Monument Circle. I guarantee you'll love her home. It was worth every dollar and then some.
Heathers Cottage was the nicest and most delightful place I have ever had the privledge to stay. Her attention to detail and sence of style is superb! I was in Indianapolis for a trade show, and coming “home” to the cottage was a dream. I didnt have time to shop, and the snacks and supplies she supplied were just lovely.
It was hard to leave.
I needed to stay after official “check out” due to my flight timing, and she accomidated kindly.
I would return to Indianapolios, for the sheer pleasure of staying at Heathers cottage.
