Location, Location, Location
Although The Urban Cottage is packed full of charm, its main attraction for Indianapolis visitors is its LOCATION. Located in the Historic Fletcher Place Neighborhood, it is less than a mile away from Lucas Oil Stadium (Colts Football!), Bankers Life Field house (Pacers Basketball), and the Convention Center (GenCon, FFA, and other conferences) and the City Center. Perfect location for Mini Marathon and Monumental Marathon participants. The Urban Cottage is also conveniently located to the airport, Indianapolis Motor Speedway (Indy 500, Brickyard 400, and Moto GP). There are many interesting LOCAL restaurants and breweries also within walking distance. Iaria's famous Italian restaurant is one block away and Sun King Brewery is one half mile away. A few local favorites!

I worked at a Bed and Breakfast throughout high school. It was a gorgeous 1885 Victorian Mansion with a breathtaking view. I ABSOLUTELY loved every minute of working there! Now-quite a few years later- I purchased a second house in Indianapolis as a creative space for writing and painting. My favorite feature of the house is the master bedroom floor. It is a lovely floral painted carpet (see attached photo) that was created as a collaborative effort between two of my friends. The house is truly charming! I found out about Air bnb a few months after I purchased the house and thought it would be fun to try it out. I would LOVE to share the space with others!
No smoking inside house. Be respectful to property and neighborhood.
The cottage was adorable and nicely appointed. I loved all the Valentines Day decorations and fresh flowers! Heather was very easy to communicate with, immediately responsive and flexible regarding check in. The bed was quite comfortable. The location was ideal - a quick Uber / cab to and from the convention center, short walk to a bunch of restaurants at Fletcher Place. Will stay again if I'm ever back in Indy!
The reservation was canceled 10 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Heather made my first experience with airbnb a successful one. She has a little gem of an urban cottage right on the out skirts of downtown Indianapolis – we couldn't have asked for a better location. Heather is very laid back and when we arrived late (time zone change), she seemed to have no problem waiting for us. I really appreciated that. We will be back!
Heather and the house were both totally awesome. I felt so welcome, and as a first time airbnb-er I couldn't have had a better experience! She has everything that one would need (or forget) while traveling (hair drier, shampoo, conditioner...). SUCH a cute little house, great location near downtown, an amazingly comfortable bed, and suggestions for nearby restaurants and local hangs were spot on. She even had fresh flowers for my arrival. Wow! Thanks so much Heather for making my stay so easy and wonderful!
Heather left some beautiful flowers and a bottle of red wine to welcome us. The Cottage was exactly as depicted in the photos, and we were pleased! The Cottage is in a historic area on the outskirts of downtown Indianapolis, and we had no trouble walking to the convention center, and into the heart of downtown. I appreciated the communication with Heather, as she responded so quickly to my questions via text messages. I will recommend this charming place to anyone with plans to visit Indianapolis.
Heather was great -- we kept in touch by email, and she left a binder of info about the neighborhood, Indy, and Urban Cottage particularities. Wi-fi and cable TV worked great. Great coffee, French Press . . . accurately portrayed in the listing.
Heather was very polite and welcoming. The Urban Cottage was beautiful, cozy, and very comfortable. It was an easy and pleasant walk to downtown. I was attending a conference at the convention center and the walk took maybe 15 to 20 minutes.
I would highly recommend Heather's listing, especially for families as the Cottage is large enough for a family, close enough to attractions to make for an easy walk, and off the beaten path enough to offer a quiet retreat.
I LOVE experiencing life and living each day to the fullest. Traveling is important to me. Fortunately, I have been able to travel to many places across the United States and around the World. My favorite travel destination is South Africa. It is simply breathtaking and has opened up my senses to new heights. I could not live without live music, good books and microbrews.
