I cannot say enough good things about this flat but I'll try! To begin with, the location was beyond perfect. It's located in the heart of the historical district but just far enough away from the crowds of tourists to give you a more local vibe and a quiet nights sleep. It's next door to some of the best restaurants. You could walk to all the popular places or just wander around the beautiful streets. The flat itself is a great experience, two large windows open up to the street with perfect light. We found the room very spacious and the AC worked great. Paola has the flat supplied with everything you would need. The kitchen is stocked with cookware and the bathroom has plenty of soaps and towels. Everything was clean and tidy. Paola goes above and beyond to make the stay very enjoyable. She arranged cars to and from the airport and was always quick to respond if I had a question. I will most definitely be looking this place up when I come back to Rome.
It's my first time to use airbnb for our vacation and I'm glad I did it! Paola's place was so perfect! It's a few steps from Piazza Navona and near Campo de Fiori, Pantheon and other historical sites. It's near our favorite restaurants, gelateria and grocery store. The area is safe to walk around even at night. Paola met us on our first stay, she's so nice and easy to talk to. Before our arrival she offered to arrange for our transport from the airport which I'm glad I accepted because Rome's narrow, cobbled streets can be daunting to first time visitors. She's easy to communicate with anything you want to ask before, during and after our stay. The place is quite big for me and my husband, it has high ceilings and it's airy when you open the windows. I like that the kitchen is separated from where we sleep and the washer is a plus. It's also good that it has an aircondition because Rome's summer heat can be draining when your walking around outside. The stairs can be daunting as it's on the 3rd floor but after walking up and down on it everyday, you'll get use to it. There are times we can hear people down the streets but it doesn't bother us and I sleep like a baby at night. I would really recommend Paola's place! The next time I'm coming back I would definitely stay here again.
Paola is great and very responsive. She also provides details on where to go, restaurant recommendations, bus to take and was on time to meet at our scheduled arrival time. The location is exceptional and it's a very nice place. I loved it when I first walked in and the descriptions were accurate. Unfortunately, the A/C were not powerful enough as it continuously shows 27°C on the hallway, and I'm suspecting that the bedroom was at 30° at night. In addition, there were bug beds which resulted in a couple bites on my body and I lost 2 nights of sleep on a short vacation. I had to move out of this place after 2 nights and did 2 nights elsewhere on last minute hotels.
you have forgot to tell that I payed to you 2 nights in hotel (your wife never came in Rome…), just for you! And that you tried to obtain more money from me..
The day after we didn't found any bed bugs. May be it was another kind of insect?
In Rome the temperature is very very high this year.
The host canceled this reservation 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The apartment is located close to all the major landmarks such as the Pantheon, Spanish steps, etc. It is an old apartment building, as stated in the description, but charming and very functional.
We loved how the kitchen had all the basic cooking essentials (olive oil, basaltic vinegar, coffee, seasonings, and even a new bag of pasta). There's also a working laundry machine located next to the fridge. The kitchen is very small but perfect to cook breakfast and simple meals.
Paola was always so quick to respond to all the questions we had and made sure our stay was welcomed :)
Great place, perfectly located on a cute street, walkable to all sights and surrounding neighborhoods. The apartment itself is very nice and bigger than it looks in the photos. Paola met me when I arrived to show me the apartment and explain everything and was available by messenger throughout my stay.
The apartment is old and used by many travelers, and feels that way!
The cons: It needs to be more clean, especially since there is a cleaning fee tacked on. It needs a very deep clean, there is a lot of mold in the toilet and mold in the shower, and a lot of dust on the vent in the bathroom. The floors also need a deep clean. The sheets need a deep clean, it's not clear if they were washed between guests and that is disturbing...it seemed as if only the bed was made but, not washed:( The couch covers are not fresh and smell very musty.
The pros:It was great to have air conditioning and a fridge to keep drinks ice cold in the hot Roman summer.
In summary:The location is really great and the apartment has potential and could be good if it was not so dirty and so lived in. The bathroom need mold/mildew/dust removed. If there was a true thorough deep cleaning with everything being made fresh after each guest this problem could be solved.
Sarah, I love my work and I am very careful about all details, especially cleaning, so I think it is so unbelievable!
I noticed you were very very annoyed to pay late check-in (I have been there waiting for you from 7 pm till midnight, but for me was not a problem, I do it with care). You told me that in hotels this extra fee is not requested, but Home Holidays are not hotels! And I let the home to your disposal till the afternoon if you needed it (check-out is at 11 am generally and in hotels you pay for it).
Not nice is that you "forgot" to let me city taxes when you checked-out….no problem!
