Where you’ll be

Lutz, Florida, United States

Miss Ruby shares 5 acres with the owner's home and is reminiscent of an era gone by of Canned Ham Camper enjoyment with luxury updates. The owner's home is an Old Florida lakehouse built of cypress and heartwood pine in 1956 when this area was considered in the country. Now it shares the neighborhood with newly constructed homes, shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Hello and thanks for checking out our little slice of paradise! Nothing pleases me more than to share it with others. When life gives you lemons...well, you pull up your boot straps and make some amazing lemonade. Oh so sweet with a little zip, I enjoy the art of living well creatively with great food, friendships & a healthy lifestyle close to nature. While my kids are off into the world creating their own amazing life adventures, you’ll find me tending our homestead, baking in the kitchen, singing & playing music, practicing yoga or planning my own next adventure. Years ago, and seemingly a lifetime has passed since I first stepped foot onto this Old Florida homestead with its cypress trees, sleepy spanish moss and a breeze that blew the scent of lake through this cypress and heart wood pine saltbox style home. As a college student I rented the house, designed and built by it’s owners in 1956 while they were wintering in Honduras; little did I know I would return as a full time caregiver and marry into the family. If these walls could talk….babies were born, gardens have come and gone, there were birthdays and celebrations of life, marriages & anniversaries, house concerts, meditation retreats, kid's school and scout parties and more dinner gatherings than I can count. Nearly 30 years later, with lots of sweat equity, the passage of loved ones and a few tears, I continue to call this place home and now share it with others, with joy and gratitude as Little Cypress Guest Suites. I have a few good stories to share - ask about my month in Thailand sailing to remote islands in the Andaman Sea, singing on stage with Andrea Bocelli or studying Tibetan language & culture with the Dalai Lama’s translator. Life is grand! Thanks so much for stopping by!

I live steps away in the main house and am available and on the property most of the time should any need arise. The lakeside deck and grounds are shared by family and other guests.
