Interaction with Guests
I like to welcome guests at arrival myself, and ibu Lilik our housemaid likes to prepare some hot snacks and drinks to welcome you on arrival. After giving you a tour of the house, we give you the keys and encourage you to be at home. Ibu Lilik returns the next morning to prepare your first breakfast and show you how everything works in the kitchen, and after that she discretely comes in the afternoons (except Sundays) to clean the house. Wayan the gardener comes in early in the morning to sweep the garden and clean the pool. Otherwise you are left alone, as the staff only come in to do their chores at certain times of day. Ibu Lilik is happy to help you shop for groceries on her way in to work and cook you lunch or dinner, but do give her some advance notice.
Located 6km from the heart of Denpasar, 15km from the airport and with easy access to the Bypass Ngurah Rai & Bypass Ida Bagus Mantra connecting the island, we are close but yet not too close to the hustle and bustle of Denpasar. Previously ricefields north of Sanur, our neighbourhood is becoming residential with more holiday homes and residential areas emerging.
The nearest bus stop is 1km away, from where you can catch the Sarbagita bus to Nusa Dua, Kuta, Airport or Bagtubulan terminus (gateway to East & North Bali). We recommend hiring a motorbike or car, or if the heat of the tropics doesn't bother you, hiring bicycles to get around.
We prefer guests to check in during daylight hours so we can show you around the house before giving you the keys. Please communicate well in advance if you are arriving after 7PM (or landing in Bali after 5PM) so we can help make sure you have a smooth arrival.
Villa Balinda was the perfect end to our 2 week holiday in Bali. Ibu Lilik, the villa's housekeeper, welcomed us warmly with some of my old favorite gorengan snacks. Everything is thought for, rooms are comfortable with lots of light and nice bedding, the pool refreshing and the breakfast lovely. The house is located close to the beach with splendid views over the fields towards the ocean.
Ibu Lilik is a wonderful housekeeper and a master chef, she cooked our final meal in Bali which was a delicious home cooked balinese feast. She made our stay at the villa much easier by helping organize taxis and noticed every little detail in our routine and effortlessly saw to that all our wants and needs were looked after before we even realized them ourselves.
We are already to return, as soon as possible!
Thanks to Kadek and Ibu Lilik for really making our holiday an everlasting memory.
Kadek was a fantastic host. We had a wonderful time at the Villa. It was clean, the layout suited our family perfectly and having Ibu Lilik around to prepare some of meals added to the overall relaxation and the convenience of the trip.
Our only regret is that we did not rent a car. We had a car and driver most days but any late night visits to Sanur town required ordering a taxi, which Kadek did for us, but our own car would have given us a bit more freedom of movement.
Thanks for staying at the lovely Villa Balinda with your entire family! I'm glad you enjoyed your stay.... and ibu Lilik's cooking too :-)
Driving on Bali's hectic roads can be a hairy experience for some, if you're confident to drive in Asia, do make sure you have an international driver's license to rent a self-drive car in Bali.
We did not see Kadek ourselves but he arrange that we can arrive a little bit earlier.
Lilly was very friendly, exceptionally helpful and discrete and attended to all our needs.
We did not have a good rapport with the recommended driver and later on used someone else.
We were under the impression that there are aircon in all the rooms but one did not have it. Access to the beach are also not that easy as portrayed.
The house is spacious, bright, and clean. Fresh air is all around. View from the 2nd floor is great, looking thru the sea. Pool is great as well, our kids love it. Housekeeping is wonderful. We have Ms. Liliek the housekeeper cook for us, and the food is great. Kitchen utensils are complete. The beach behind is quite and fun to walk or play.
Thanks for your response. We'll complain once more to the village about the trash problem down the road. They have put signs up but people are ignoring them. We are recommending that they should fine people for dumping trash. We recycle as much of our trash as we can and make compost, but our neighbors don't seem interested in doing this.
A delightful, relaxing stay, great views of the beach, private pool and all mod cons, a short taxi into town (3 dollars.) Will be staying again, Thankyou!

About the Host, Kadek
Born and raised in Bali until graduating from highschool, I pursued tertiary education in New Zealand and Canada. I'm now living in Bali where I manage my grandfather's homestay. This AirBnB account is created mostly to help my mum (born in NZ, has lived in Bali for over 40 years) get guests for her BnB.
