The Kumquat Condo was the perfect base for our first visit to Portland. Kim welcomed us and got us oriented to the neighborhood, restaurants, and the public transit. The condo is charming - plenty of room for 2 with all the amenities we needed. The decor is bright and funky and the condo is spotlessly clean. The neighborhood is a bit far from the downtown sights, but a quick trip on the 14 bus took us right into the heart of downtown. And within walking distance from the condo were many restaurants, coffee shops, and bars - more than we could possibly sample in our short stay! We had a great time and would love to return some day!
Tastefully appointed condos in an ideal setting> the apartment was exactly as promised, with its lighting and decoration maximizing the cheeriness. The location balances convenience of abundant side-street parking (no meters) with a vibrant commercial district. The cafes, bars, restaurants, and groceries made this a perfect "base camp." Another plus is the inviting front patio shared by all the units, with a mix of flowers and vegetables. Loved this place and appreciated the highly professional yet welcoming management by Kim and Francis. Hope to return.
We had a lovely stay at the Butternut Condos, would certainly come back here again! Thanks Kim, Kate, Frances & Dog :-)
I booked a stay at the Kumquat Condo for a visiting artist that is working with my company. Kim was very responsive to all of my questions and was great working with both me and the artist to coordinate his late arrival from oversees. She even let me know he had arrived safely!
He was very pleased with the property and its location. He had stayed in the neighborhood before and was happy to revisit some old haunts.
They even went the extra mile for him by offering to give him a lift to his gallery show when he was running behind.
This was an all around excellent stay for our guest!
A great space in a great neighborhood! The condo has a comfortable bed, well-appointed kitchen and a fast, reliable internet connection with a nice desk/workspace.
The perfect home (or office) away from home ... I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
I had an amazing stay at Butternut condos. Kim and family are warm and welcoming and I can not imagine anything is too much trouble to them. The condos are beautiful and beyond spotless. The location is one of the best in Portland, the only downside is there are too many fabulous bakeries, restaurants and cafes nearby that is it impossible not to indulge a little too much. We can not recommend Butternut condos enough. Thank you for such a delightful stay.
The hosts were very hospitable and helpful. They even loaned us lots of baby gear. The condo is bright and decorated in a really fun way. Situated in a lovely, peaceful neighborhood. We had a delicious breakfast next door at Tabor Bread each morning.
Another great stay at the Butternut!
Don't let anyone fool you, Portland in the dead of winter is fun!
i had an absolutely wonderful stay at the kumquat condo, which was the perfect home away from home for a week-long holiday. i was really impressed by the creativity and thoughtful care taken in furnishing the butternut condos and the attention of francis and kim to the more subtle details and quality of the household amenities, for example, stumptown coffee, dishes, cookware and sharp knives, internet-television, shampoo and soap dispensers in the bathroom. the kumquat unit is at the back of the complex and is quiet, with lovely morning and late afternoon light. the location, in the hawthorne neighbourhood, was fantastic, with easy accessibility to the #14 bus downtown, the albina press for morning espresso right across the street, and lovely mount tabor park a short-walk away. kim and francis are really great hosts; easy to communicate with and very welcoming. and their restaurant, otto, which is located at 18th and hawthorne, is definitely worth visiting! in short, i loved my stay at the butternut condos, and i felt rather wistful leaving the cozy kumquat and portland. thanks kim and francis, for making my stay in portland such a relaxing and pleasant one!
All was great! Place was cute and clean!
