Located in beautiful Mt. Tabor. Each unit is mid-century modern. With wood floors, tiled kitchens and bathrooms. The location is fabulous. Restaurants, shopping and parks are close by. The close in location provides easy access to downtown via bike, bus or car. Plentiful street parking usually within a block or so.
The Kumquat is comfortable for one or two with a queen sized bed in the bedroom. One or two additional guests could be accommodated on a queen size fold out couch in the living room.
The kitchen is fully equipped with the necessities to stay in and cook. New Season's grocery is just down the street for last minute items. Linens and towels are provided. The bath has shampoo, conditioner and body wash.
The hallway closet fits all luggage and clothes, as well as an iron and ironing board.
There is an iHome that is compatible with iPhones and all iPods. It also serves as a radio and alarm clock.
Free WiFi is provided.
There is a house manual in the condo with guidelines to follow.
We are happy to welcome children and pets as our guests. Please include them in your guest count.
This is a completely non-smoking/burning/vaping property.
Check in is 4 - 6pm by appointment. Check out prior to 11 am. Please let us know your proposed check in time when you place your reservation request. All guests must be present for check in with identification.
Rates and availability are subject to change.
There is no pro-ration allowance for additional guests or partial stays. When adding a guest to your reservation you will be charged a guest fee for the entire stay for the total number of guests accepted regardless of each individual guest's length of stay. Please consider that before inviting others.
One or two night stays may be accepted if reserved 24 hours for, one night, before check in. Or 48 hours before a two night stay. If there is an opening of one or two nights between existing reservations we will be happy to consider your reservation request. Please inquire.
Interaction with Guests
We personally check in each of our guests 4 -6 pm by appointment. Only registered guests may check in to the property. All guests must be present for check in. We do not check in by proxy. If there is anything that you need during your stay we are but a text or telephone call away.
This is a self housekeeping home and must be returned to us in the condition that it was received in.
This is a pet friendly unit. Pets must be pre-approved before booking.
Pets must be obedience or crate trained and not allowed on furniture or in the beds. We love well behaved pets and owners who care for them. Please do not use our home as a kennel while you explore Portland. If your pet displays seperation anxiety or barks excessively the owner will be responsible for finding lodging for the pet off premise. Pets must be accustomed to a community environment and be able to interact with other animals present on the property. Guest must vacuum before departure. We will provide a Dyson Animal for your use.
Television is capable of internet access as well as Comcast programming. Please do not change settings for internet. If you need help please ask. We are available to assist you 24 hours per day.
No bicycle storage within the units. You are welcome to secure them in the courtyard.
Observe appropriate noise levels for the time of day. For example no loud music at night.
No smoking or vaping on the property or burning anything in the unit including but not limited to incense, scented candles and herbs.
Guest agrees to abide by all written rules or verbal requests. Guest agrees to forfeit entire security deposit if they choose not to cooperate. A house manual in each home will provide you with details.
Please show courtesy to our neighbors. Any gatherings greater than the number of registered house guests must be pre-approved by the host.
Children and pets are guests, please include them in your guest count.
Checking In / Out
Check In is 4 – 6 pm. Please let us know when you plan to arrive so that someone can greet you at your condo, provide you with your access code and answer any questions that you may have. We personally check in each of our guests. Only registered guests may check in to the property. We do not check in by proxy.
Early or late check in can be arranged in advance based on availability. Early or late check is subject to a $25/hr check in fee.
Check Out is 11 am. Please let us know 48 hours in advance if you require a late check out. Late check out is based on availability and approval of management. Late check out is $25 per hour for each full or partial hour after 11 am and must be paid for in advance in cash. If you plan on leaving earlier than 11am please let us know so that we can plan our cleaning schedules accordingly.
Host reserves the right to assign guest to a different condo in the same plex if it is beneficial to hosts calendar.
Policies and rates may be subject to change at the Host's discretion.
Violation of any house policies will result in the entire party being asked to leave with no refund due.
This is our second time staying at the Hawthorne Condos. I can’t say enough about how charming, well-equipped and clean these condos are. Kim and her family are always very welcoming and helpful. There is plenty of parking, with restaurants and shopping within an easy walk. Both my husband and I look forward to our next visit to the Mt. Tabor neighborhood and will definitely stay at these condos.
This is the one of coziest places we've been to. Everything is as described, I give this place a 6 star rating. Definitely coming back!
We were welcomed by our host as we were shown the ropes and reviewed the amenities and our responsibilities. The cottage was homey and comfortable with everything we needed. Within walking distance to shops, coffee places, restaurants, and nightlife the location was perfect for us during our visit. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Kim was very warm, and welcoming, but left us to ourselves after running through some brief instructions. She was a great host. She upgraded us to a slightly larger condo, just because it was ready. The Butternut has a unique sense of humorous style. I love the rooster theme in the kitchen, it was nearly tongue in cheek. The bed was a Kind size! Kim has bikes for rent, and bike storage down below in the basement. What a nice feature! The place is on 50th and Hawthorne, so it is across the street from the Albina Press coffee shop, which has been renowned for years & years. On the corner there is a bakery, where we got awesome muffins for breakfast one day. The Sapphire it also right there, which is a great date/drink establishment. The only late night food near by is Zack's Shack, with hotdogs until 2am? Loved it all. It was a wonderful way to come home to Portland & my Fiance, after living abroad for the summer in Italy.
