Interaction with Guests
I like to welcome Guests and show them their accommodation. My family and I live across the road, so I am close by if Guests need something.
Potts Point is Sydney's most cosmopolitan neighbourhood (think Soho London, The East Village NYC).
During the last decade Potts Point has become recognised as one of the most desirable places to live in Sydney. Many empty-nesters have sold their family homes in the suburbs and bought an apartment in the neighbourhood. Many young families now choose to live here, so much so that the sight of prams, once as rare in Potts Point as koalas, are now part of the diverse mix of locals. And why wouldn't anybody want to live here? It is the most cosmopolitan 'hood' in Australia. It is beautiful, grand old art deco buildings, and harbour side parks; it is a walk to the city through the Botanic Gardens; you can get a coffee downstairs, and have a drink after dinner. It is all about amenity. It is a vibrant, living, inner-urban community.
It is two minutes walk to the nearest train station or you can walk into the CBD in fifteen minutes. There is a go-get car for hire by the hour on the street. Harbour-side parks are 5 minutes walk. The surf beaches are also a short train/ bus ride away.
Within walking distance of the Botanic Gardens, Opera House, Art Gallery, Australian Museum, central business district & most tourist sites
- Taxis takes about 20 minutes and cost about $50 (depending on the time of day).
- Shuttle bus stops at the Regents Court. This costs $13 but takes longer as it makes a number of stops.
- Train. Domestic Airport Station to Kings Cross, a one way ticket is: $15.90 AUD
- Train. International Airport Station to Kings Cross, a one way ticket is: $16.70 AUD

Hugh's place is a very pleasant one.Unfortunately the work noise due to renovation right in the street during the full length of our stay(25nights) did not help to offer the quality of life expected in such a nice location. The availability of a small oven and more disheries for the long term residents will considerably ease the cooking conditions rather than the dish washer which is useless for an accommodation for two people. As a whole it is a place that we recommend and will definitely consider for our next stay in Sydney. Jean Bernard Anglada
I am sorry that the Council decided to do footpath repairs between 8am and 3pm some days during your stay. This work is now completed. The apartment has four place settings and a full set of pots and pans. I am not sure why you think the dishwasher is useless as it works perfectly.
Hugh was very helpful and made us feel right at home. Potts point is well situated and allows for easy access to the city.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment is very clean and well equipped with everything you could need. It is well stocked with the basics. Hugh is friendly and helpful. The view of the city skyline is good day and night.
The location is perfect as it is very near Kings Cross station and there are loads of restaurants, bars and shops on the door step.
Being near amenities results in noise from revellers retuning at all hours. The apartment is very good but not luxurious, we felt at home in it.
Kings cross has some sleazy aspects e.g. Strip clubs.
We will be going back
We were in regular contact with Hugh since making the booking. Hugh responded promptly and was always very helpful. We arrived early so the offer to check us in before time or store our bags at Hugh's was very much appreciated. Hugh met us at the apt and like all reviews before was very helpful, thanks Hugh. After a guided tour of the apt and some local knowledge about the area Hugh left us to our own devices. We were so pleased that we booked an apt rather than a boring hotel room, the space was convenient and wonderful. The apt came fully stocked, nothing extra required. We founds Potts Point to be an ideal location just 5 min walk to Kings Cross station. We got an open $20 ticket which lasted us 4 days and we still had $6 left. Take 2 stops get off at Town Hall and you are in the Queen Vic Bld, could spend all day here, then onto St George St from which is just 15 min walk to Rocks and Opera House. We did find the area at Potts Point noisy on Fri and Sat, but Sun back to quiet. Be aware the Kings Cross area is an "adult area" not frighting but colorful. Some really nice places to eat at the back of you. Harris supermkt next door and 5 mins to Woolworths supermkt on Macleary. We also used the Spit Roast shop on Macleary again 5 mins from the apt fantastic takeaways, great variety of home cooked type food, also try Zinc a little way pass Woolworths, great b/fast, lunch and dinner. I guess if we said we would be more than happy to return and recommend we need add no further endorsements. Thanks Hugh
Very happy with our stay at 'Pots Point Apt - Sunny with views' the apartment was clean and had everything we need. Happy to recommend it, had no issues with the owner and was made to feel very welcome.
Magnificent apartment, clean spacious and exactly as described and as shown in the photos. Everything you might need was there and even a complimentary bottle of wine and cosmetic products. I arrived earlier than agreed but this was no problem. As Hugh was unavailable, Jeff came within minutes, guided me to the apartment and showed me everything. No problem with early check in and late check out. Nice and warm welcome ! Supermarket, restaurants and cafes, public transport, all very close. Would definitely stay again and of course recommend to all.
Excellent apartment in an incredible location. Beautiful building. wonderful views. Comfortable, it has everything you need. We were very well received, and even allowed to leave our bags after check-out hour. Nice detail of little toiletries bag and free bottle of wine as a welcoming gift. There is no air conditioning which to some people, in full summer might not be ideal. For us, it was ok. Good ceiling fan on the living room-kitchen, and nice winds at night (many windows that you can leave open). Hugh was not in town but we were well attended by Jeff and had no problem whatsoever.
