The building is art deco. The apartment has windows on three sides. It has a queen sized bed, a kitchen with dishwasher, a washer/drier and a two flat-screen TVs.

It is two minutes walk to the nearest train station or you can walk into the CBD in fifteen minutes. There is a go-get car for hire by the hour on the street. Harbour-side parks are 5 minutes walk. The surf beaches are also a short train/ bus ride away.

Within walking distance of the Botanic Gardens, Opera House, Art Gallery, Australian Museum, central business district & most tourist sites

During the last decade Potts Point has become recognised as one of the most desirable places to live in Sydney. Many empty-nesters have sold their family homes in the suburbs and bought an apartment in the neighbourhood. Many young families now choose to live here, so much so that the sight of prams, once as rare in Potts Point as koalas, are now part of the diverse mix of locals. And why wouldn't anybody want to live here? It is the most cosmopolitan 'hood' in Australia. It is beautiful, grand old art deco buildings and harbour side parks; it is a walk to the city through the Botanic Gardens; you can get a coffee downstairs, and have a drink after dinner. It is all about amenity. It is a vibrant, living, inner-urban community.

  • Hugh was a great host. He maintained communication with me prior to my arrival and met me immediately when I got to the apartment.

    The apartment was incredibly comfortable and well equipped. I had absolutely everything I could have required.

    The windows are absolutely amazing. They open wide and offer great views and air flow. There is a market right down stairs and many, many restaurants and shops within walking distance.

    I would stay again in a second!

  • All good with the exception of one HUGE NEGATIVE - Roaches. My husband and I stayed at Hugh's - Sunny with Views apartment for 2 weeks in March. The apartment is exactly as posted and Hugh was always helpful and quick to respond to all our inquires. Even though Hugh was away on holiday, he had arrangements in place for everything. We were greeted by his staff member and allowed an early check-in. It is a perfect location with access to restaurants, shops and stores. It is minutes from the train station which allows for perfect access to all of Sydney and beyond. It has all the amenities of home for a comfortable stay. Hugh even provided a mobile phone and all we had to do was purchase the SIM card.
    The big negative is the infestation of cockroaches. On the first night, we noticed a few small roaches in the bathroom. The second night, we noticed a couple of very large roaches. My husband found roach spray under the cabinet and sprayed. After spraying, literally dozens (over 50) of huge roaches began scurrying everywhere. I emailed Hugh of the problem and included pictures as well. Hugh responded immediately (even though he was out of the country on holiday) and arranged for an exterminator to spray first thing in the morning. The spraying corrected the bulk of the problem. We did continue to see one or two roaches each day throughout our 2 week stay. We appreciated Hugh's quick response to the problem but we are so disappointed that Hugh did not respond to our future emails requesting we be credited for the 4 days the apartment was not fit for occupancy due to the infestation of roaches and the fact we had to wear shoes due to the chemical pesticide powder throughout the apartment. We didn't think our request for a credit of 4 days was unreasonable.
    Hugh's apartment is actually very clean. This is a problem throughout the building itself and until the entire building is fumigated, roaches with continue to appear in the apartment. Once the problem is corrected, I would have no reservations about renting from Hugh again.

    This review is the result of a failed attempt to extort money from me. I can assure you that neither the apartment nor the building are infested with cockroaches. In a way I am happy that Airbnb publishes this negative fiction because it gives credibility to my other 177 positive reviews from honest guests.

  • We stayed in Hugh's Potts Point apartment in late February and couldn't imagine a better place for our 5 night visit in Sydney. The location is great, close to all the sites/transits/restaurants and there is even a Farmers market next door. The apartment itself is clean and comfortable with every amenity. Hugh was very welcoming and even accommodated our early arrival. We would definitely stay again!

  • Had a fantastic stay in Hugh's apartment. Hugh made check in really easy and accommodated our late arrival. The apartment is very comfortable and in a fantastic position for exploring the city. Easy walking distance to so many areas and really close to Kings Cross station with access to the city and Bondi. Hope to return one day. Thanks Hugh

  • Hugh's apartment is in a perfect central location to explore Sydney and Potts Point itself, is fantastic for foodie lovers like ourselves and anyone that likes the underground cocktail bar scene. The apartment is clean,tidy and very comfortable, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Hugh is excellent at communicating, and has a wealth of knowledge of the surrounding areas. We really enjoyed our stayed here.

  • We stayed at both of hughs places, sunny with view and the ballet studio. Both were just perfect for us. Very nice neighbourhood, good restaurants, absolutely clean and hugh is a nice host! Can totally recommend it. Thanx again

  • Sentral beliggenhet som gjør det mulig å spasere til det meste hvis man liker å gå. Lite støy til tross for at leiligheten ligger i et område med restauranter og barer. Harris Farm Markets som ligger rett rundt hjørnet har fantastiske matvarer, frukt og grønt.

  • Well what can we say... absolutely wonderful host most obliging to help us & give us directions. Gorgeous apartment as per pics. Well kept & stocked just like a hotel. Loved the brightness & great views across the city. Close to many amenities - train station, besides a tad noisy at night ...enjoyed our week - definitely rebook for another time. Felt like being in a small part of Europe ...so quaint & homely! Infact gorgeous investments.
    Qudos to Hugh & family keeping such great apartments.

  • I stayed in the Potts Point apartment with a friend for three weeks and have nothing but excellent feedback from our stay.

    We stayed over Christmas/New Year (2013-14) so booked well in advance but got all the information we needed from Hugh and any questions we had were answered straight away.

    We arrived earlier than check in but were given a space to leave our luggage which was extremely helpful. Everything in the apartment was exactly as described, perfectly clean and had plenty of everything we needed. There is also a fantastic view of the city. There was never any noise from the other apartments and both the bed and sofa were very comfortable so a good night's sleep was always had!

    The location was great; only a couple of minutes walk to the nearest train station and bus stop and also only a 30-40 minute walk through the Botanical Gardens to Sydney Harbour. The cafe/restaurant across the road does excellent food, there is a supermarket right next door and numerous shops/newsagents/chemist/etc. all within walking distance.

    Hugh, the host, was incredibly friendly and helpful right from the start and throughout our entire stay. He made it clear that he was only at the end of the phone any time we needed anything and really went the extra mile to make sure we had a great stay.

    I'd HIGHLY recommend this apartment or any booking with Hugh and if I'm ever in Sydney again I will definitely book with him.

  • Nous sommes restés une semaine dans l'appartement de Hugh McCullum et ne voulions simplement plus repartir!!

    Mis à part le fait que Sydney est un petit bijou de destination en soi, l'appartement en lui-même est vraiment idéale pour vivre le Sydney de vos rêves!
    L'emplacement est parfait; tout près de la gare et des bus, si l'envie de faire une marche de 20 minutes jusqu'au centre-ville ne vous prend pas...
    Potts Point est un quartier charmant, au centre des coins 'hype & in' de la ville de Sydney avec beaucoup de bars/restaurants/cafés très sympas à portée de main.
    Situé pile entre la CBD et Bondi beach, l'appartement citadin dans un immeuble Art Déco (coup de coeur pour l'ascenseur d'époque) offre une vue imprenable sur les grattes-ciel de la ville en fond, et la verdure de Hyde Park en devanture!

    Hugh McCullum a été adorable et nous a donné beaucoup d'indications très utiles tout au long de notre séjour. C'est quand même bien commode de pouvoir faire les touristes indépendants, tout en ayant l'aide d'un local en temps réel! Surtout que Hugh parle un peu le français...

    Le pied quoi! Seule peur pour votre prochain séjour à Sydney; que l'appartement soi déjà booké!
