Enjoy the beauty of the mountains in the Valley Above the Clouds! This rustic, cozy 300 sq. ft. cabin on the creek is located on my property in the middle of the Chattahoochee National Forest - think of this as "Tiny House Glamping" in the woods! We are within 40 minutes of the best hiking trails in North Georgia: Blood Mtn, Springer Mtn, and Brasstown Bald. Our home is in Suches, but we are closer to Blairsville and Blue Ridge. We welcome folks from all walks of life to our little paradise!

The space
You can hear the soothing sound of the creek as soon as you exit your car. Raining Creek Cabin, your small cabin near the main house where my mother and I live, is hidden away and is directly on Skeenah Creek. It is furnished with one queen bed. Your cozy cabin features a 36 inch modular kitchenette with a small sink with cold running water, two burners and a small fridge. Your breakfast of orange juice, organic milk, farm fresh eggs and fresh fruit awaits you in the fridge. Coffee, tea, creamer, sugar, oatmeal, French press and snacks are provided, as well as a multiport phone charger, towels, stove top kettle, cooking and eating utensils, corkscrew, and pots and pans. A small microwave is also in the cabin. A kitchen table and comfy recliner complete the downstairs room. During the summer, there is a window unit a/c, and in the winter, there are two space heaters. There is a small upstairs room where the flushable camp toilet is located. After a day of hiking, relax on the back porch overlooking Skeenah Creek. Although the cabin has only a flushable camp toilet, guests have 24/7 access to the full and half bathrooms (shared) in the main house (located up 32 steps from the cabin). We are a "no shoes" household, so please bring house shoes to wear into the main house. We also require the use of a mask if you come into the house. I have masks here if you don't have your own. Feel free to use the outdoor kitchen, complete with gas grill, grilling utensils, and a table for al fresco dining. End your evening with a lovely fire in the fire pit beside the creek. I provide the gas for the grill, as well as firewood for the fire pit.

You'll notice a 12% lodging tax added to the price of the cabin. This is for Fannin County and state of Georgia taxes. We proudly pay our taxes in order to support our rural mountain community which relies heavily on tourism.

Guest access
Guests have the whole cabin to themselves, but also have access to the main house half bath, full bathroom for showering, kitchen and dining area. The cabin has a porch overlooking the creek, but guests can also enjoy the front porch of the main house overlooking Seabolt Creek. Guests also have access to the outdoor kitchen with grill, table, two chairs and an umbrella. I have a picnic basket/back pack available to you if you'd like to do a little hiking in the Chattahoochee National Forest next to the house.

Other things to note
We are pet friendly, but have a fee and rules regarding bringing your pet. You must read our Pet Policy in the House Manual prior to arrival.
Please note: you must have wifi calling enabled on your phone in order to make phones calls here. If you'd prefer not to do that, we have a landline phone that you can use, and can give that number to friends or family in case of emergency.
Although we have wifi in the cabin, it is not consistent and strong enough to use for work, so I wouldn't trust it for that if you plan on working while here.
Although we love kids, our property is neither suitable nor safe for children.
There is no bathroom in the cabin, only a flushable camp toilet. The full bathroom is up 32 steps to the main house. You must wear a mask inside our main house, as well as house shoes (we do not allow regular shoes in our house).

We are off the beaten path at an elevation of 2200 feet, but on a county maintained road, so access is easy - no dirt or gravel roads here! We are also on a main electric line, so even with 12 inches of snow on the ground, we've never lost power!

Meeks Park Canoe and Kayak launch in Blairsville (15 minute drive)
Toccoa River Swinging Bridge (30 minutes including the drive and short walk to the bridge)

Hi everyone! I am very proud to have been a member of the Airbnb community since 2010, almost from its beginning! My mother (my co-host, Carolyn) and I have stayed in Airbnb accommodations in the United States, England, Italy and India. I've only recently (August 2018) begun my exciting journey as a host. I use my own experiences as a guest to constantly and consistently answer the questions: What would I want in this space if I were a guest here? How would I want to be treated as a guest? What can I do to exceed this guests expectations for a wonderful stay - whether it's for a month, or just one night? As a retired teacher, school counselor and principal, this is definitely a new direction for me, but one in which I've always wanted to go. I have always loved the hospitality industry and am so happy that I can make my living now providing wonderful experiences for fellow travelers. Come join my mother and I in this beautiful, calm, harmonious, relaxing slice of paradise in the North Georgia Mountains, the Valley Above the Clouds!
