The Space

My beautiful house dates from 1875 and is 5 minutes walk from the centre of town in a quiet conservation area. The room itself is on the ground floor and is a spacious double with a double bed, sofa, desk, and plenty of storage space. The price includes towels and bedding and broadband, fuel and local taxes and a continental breakfast which is left on the kitchen table for you from 7am in the morning for you to help yourself. The room also has a pleasant view from the large bay window and there's lots of free parking one minute's walk from the house. You will have access to my well equipped kitchen/living room.

The Playwright Restaurant, is in my opinion, the best restaurant in Dundee! The Dundee Contemporary Arts Centre is a short walk away, and has exhibitions from international artists, print and photography courses and workshops, and has two cinemas which show fantastic foreign films, and some great classics as well! Theres now also the chance to see live opera shown from the met in the newly refurbished cinemas and you can take in your gin and tonic as well! The two universities are also within walking distance too.

My home is a great place for you to start exploring Dundee!

  • Room was perfect, bright, clean and spacious with lovely ensuite shower room, and in a nice quiet area of town. Wifi was extremely useful as I had some work to do while there. Kathleen was very welcoming, and the breakfast was exactly as ordered, thank you! A short walk from town, but it is up a steep hill (Dundee is a very hilly place so it's hard to avoid those hills!)

  • Kathleen is a really nice host and gave us some good tips about Dundee.
The house is well located and you can walk down to the city. It is a big house where more people stay for visiting Dundee or for staying longer.
Unfortunately our room wasn't that clean as we expected it, I think that's a thing Kathleen could improve.

  • Kathleen was wicked host with amazing energy and a awesome outlook on life. She always made sure I was ok and notified me about everything I needed. The room was lovely. It was an easy stay. I would recommend her to anyone and when back in dundee will hopefully stay with her again. She's a funny and lovely lady.

  • Kate is a lovely host, vert nice and welcoming. Her house is well situated, near the city centre. It's a good place to stay one or two nights in Dundee at an affordable price.

  • Everything went perfect, thanks a lot Kathleen!

By the way, there was indeed a tray in the room offering the possibility to make tea or coffee. If someone is concerned about it (see post below), I have tested it... it’s not fixed and can be easily moved to the kitchen.

  • Our room was clean and well-organized. Kathleen made sure we had everything we needed and even drove us us to town two times. We had our own private bathroom, which was great. We really appreciated Kathleen's help and insight.

  • Incredibly disappointed in this experience. Beginning with our first impression of the yard which was piled with materials from a landscaping business to having to squeeze by the owner's son's truck blocking the gate and then being confronted by a very messy patio area. A bay window to our left had draperies bunched up on the window sills.
When Kathleen finally showed up to let us in the house, we entered into a cold, messy hall, were shown a sterile looking kitchen the our room which was advertised as a "spacious, lovely, double room, with beautiful garden view, and ensuite bathroom. The room was cramped, very cold, the bed was three quarter size, the mattress was lumpy, the bedding insufficient, there was a tray for tea which was not changed or cleared during our three night stay. This was truly the worst bed I have ever slept in. I would never recommend this accommodation and think it should be removed from airbnb website.

  • I had great time in Dundee. Accomodation in Kathleen's place were just whta I needed and expected - good location, all facilities provided as declared in the web, clean and tidy.
