Welcome! This is an 84 year old beautiful, completely remodeled house in the central side of town. Original hardwood floors, high ceilings, exposed brick & a beautiful artistic modern feel throughout. Close to I-10, US-54, airport, dwntn & Ft. Bliss.
Completely renovated beautiful 1 bedroom + Loft Area.
This is a beautiful fully renovated space with a modern feel, yet keeping the 1930's character of the house.
The room has a queen size bed, hardwood floors, high ceilings, TV area with flat screen TV, a loft area with office space & reading nook, living room, and its own bathroom.
Approximately 750+ sq ft of space in the second floor of the house. It offers lots of space, great sunlight, and complete privacy.
There are two cats in the house, which you may let into the room if you choose. They can always be placed elsewhere in the house if cats bother you.
You'll get your own set of keys to enter the house.
You also have access to the living room to relax, dining room, and kitchen to cook as needed. There is washer & dryer as well.
I also have a beautiful porch for you to sit & sip tea or coffee.
Interaction with Guests
We really try to have a very friendly atmosphere, and we encourage our guests to interact with us. When in town, I can arrange or suggest the best places to see in El Paso, including sights and food options. Interacting with my guest is a priority. If you bike, there is always 2 bikes available to pedal. It is a hilly neighborhood, but really fun. If you want to bike with me or my friends, we would be happy to.
I have two roommates that live downstairs, and they are really great. If I am traveling, my roommate Edgar, Beatriz or my friend Gigi will absolutely take care of you.
Oh, and you get to meet Calico.. the best, sweetest, and friendliest cat ever =^.^= ever... ever..
I live in a neighborhood, a place where people walk their dogs, greet you, interact with you, and make you feel part of the community. There are a variety of restaurants with a 1 mile radius (mexican, pizza, great burgers, vietnamese, thai, chinese, korean, and japanese).
It is also about 1 mile away from Ft. Bliss, and about 4 miles from downtown. Close to 1-10, & US-54.
I have 1 or 2 extra bike(s) that you can borrow to explore. You can bike from the house to downtown, to Ft Bliss. Otherwise, having a vehicle is probably the best option.
Other Things to Note
If you are looking for a hotel feel & service, this is not the place for you. Again, if you want a hotel, get a hotel. Please.
I have over 1000+ hotel nights, I did not want to recreate a hotel, but rather a beautiful home to share with fellow travelers.
Other people live here, you will have privacy upstairs, but be mindful.
There are 2 cats in the house. They mostly hangout downstairs, but they occasionally come up to greet guests.
This is an 84 year old house, be nice to it.
No smoking of any kind inside the house.
Take care of the house & the room.
If you use the kitchen, clean after yourself.
Be respectful & clean.
Most outstanding in the field of excellence. I know where I will be staying next time I am in El Paso.
Victor's place was really nice. Think Martha Stewart but masculine and a bit edgy/arty. Very comfortable, lots of space, and quiet. There are other people living in the house but I never saw nor heard them. I had a problem using the shower and suggested to Gigi (who was very helpful) they label the hot and cold spots on the dial. Also if you're sensitive to strong perfume odors you might ask them if they've changed their detergent/softener before you book. "Fabuloso" brand cleaning products are really popular in this area and I hate them for their intense chemical-like perfume. I had to strip the bed of linens and pillows to get the odor out of the room and hunt around for a blanket and pillow that didn't have that odor, which was frustrating because I was already so tired. There are cats in the house but they keep to themselves, and the place was so clean I didn't find a cat hair anywhere.
The house manual states: "Move the lever to the right for the hot water to come out" . I would use labels..but it is already stated, and if it isn't to the left...then it might be to the right... 50/50 chance... And despite popular misconceptions, not every Hispanic household uses "fabuloso" even in El Paso... I think my guest failed to mention that he had a bad experience with this product in the past, and he may now smell it in every Latino lodging. We don't use this product, but we do try to have a pleasant smell in our linens. If you allergic or sensitive to strong smells... maybe a hotel with hypoallergenic lodging could be an option.
Room was great! Cute little attic space converted into a bedroom. Very nicely furnished with a bed, couch, and TV. More than big enough to use an inflatable mattress on the floor in addition to the bed.
Victor is an artist (photographer), and it shows. Lot of character to this place.
Victor was lovely and welcoming. The space is very cool and private and despite our stay being short, it was very pleasant and a welcome respite. Thank you Victor!
Victor has a wonderful design sense, and great attention to detail. You can see it in every inch of his immaculate house. Victor was staying at his girl friend's house due to an injury during my stay, so I never got to meet him, but I feel like I did. Communication was great and instructions were very clear. When I first arrived in the neighborhood it struck me as ... humble. But I am not familiar with El Paso (or the South West in general), and soon discovered the neighborhood to be safe and charming.
Great place to stay in El Paso. Was there for 21 nights. House is well furnished, clean and quiet. The whole upstairs is almost like having a separate apartment. Fast internet. Would stay again.
