Great location
95% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.

We’re 2.5 miles to Arrowhead Village, 5 miles to Lake Gregory, and a short drive to lots of hiking trails and national forests.

Connect with your family and friends, commune with nature, and finish reading (or writing!) your book. This chic and charming three-bedroom, 1,330-square-foot cottage surrounded by majestic pines is suitable for families, friends, or as a romantic getaway.

The space
I designed the Sugar Pine Place experience to feel like you're staying at your best friend's house. It has has all the charm you'd expect (wood floors, bay window, library, games, treetops view, picnic tables in the fenced yard) with full amenities for modern living (wi-fi, cable, Roku TV, washer and dryer, Alexa). It's surrounded by pine trees, cedars and oak trees for your forest bathing pleasure. We even have a couple sleds and hula hoops you can borrow!

Here's how your day might go: Wake up in any of three upstairs bedrooms (all treetop level), and pad downstairs to put the tea or coffee on (your choice of press, pour-over or regular coffee maker). Help yourself to whatever's in the pantry, and eat breakfast at the maple kitchen counter or perhaps on the porch as you watch the blue jays do their thing. Later, walk the dog in along the forest trail at the end of the road, or take off for your mountain adventures.

Come home and cook in the full kitchen (stocked with your basics as well as a few fun surprises), or use the grill out back, then flip on the party lights outside and enjoy dinner. If it's chilly, fire up the wood stove in the parlor and eat at the round oak table. Then retire to the comfy leather couch in the living room and play games, watch a movie, or simply relax. Feel free to pull a book our library with children's, YA and adult selections, knit, strum the guitar, watch movies, and play games and do puzzles. You're welcome to use anything in the house.

The home is also baby-friendly with a high chair, tub, gate and door lock for the stairs, blackout shades in all the bedrooms and a Pack 'n' Play.

I welcome well-behaved dogs for an additional $50 cleaning fee ($75 for 2 dogs). Backyard is fenced! There's a $15 per night fee for extra people (more than 3).

I've worked really hard to make this a cozy, functional and beautiful home, inspired by Anthropologie, Bohemian chic and the French countryside. I hope you love it as much as I do.

In the wintertime, please check the weather and roads before you come up. When it snows, you may need 4-wheel drive or chains/cables. I strongly encourage you to buy travel insurance in case the roads are impassable and/or closed by Cal-Trans in case you can't cancel in time to get a refund on your reservation.

A note about changes due to Coronavirus / COVID-19: We follow a rigorous cleaning and sterilizing protocol and we've switched to single-use guest toiletries. We also ask that if you are sick or have been around someone who is sick to please plan your trip for another time to keep our small mountain community safe. Please also look into travel insurance as we have strict cancellation policies.

Where you’ll be

Twin Peaks, California, United States

Nestled among pines and cedars on a quiet street, we're 3 miles to Lake Arrowhead Village, 5 miles to Lake Gregory for swimming and fishing, and 15 miles to Snow Valley Mountain Resort. We've got a gourmet grocery store (Jensen's), a library, and antique stores within a 2-mile radius; at the end of the block there's a gas station/general store/Subway for those last-minute items. It's a small mountain community--wave and say hi to people walking by!

I'm a writer and a single mom. We have a weird little dog named Manuka. I've traveled all over the world and my current favorite place is right in Twin Peaks. My favorite thing to do in Twin Peaks is wake up, take the dog for a hike in the forest, and then sit and drink coffee by the bay window.
