Cosy & nice- Sai Kung village house

House - Private room · Nam Wai Rd, Sai Kung, Hong Kong

The Space

I just adjusted the price for the private en-suite room: (Original USD79/ night)

USD68/ night
USD1900 / month

My flat is located on the 1st floor of an village house in Sai Kung, the back garden of Hong Kong. 700 sq feet overlooking a small bay and numerous yachts and sailing boats. Yes, you can go down the beach and swim in the calm sea within 30 seconds walking. The village has tranquil ambiance. If you want some unique experience about Hong Kong other than city hassle, you will certainly love my place.

Sai Kung is located in the North East of Kowloon Peninsula. My house is 10 minutes by bus or mini bus from the nearest MTR station. 30-45 minutes from city center.

There are 24 hours mini-bus connecting the city centre and Sai Kung. The nearest MTR station is Choi Hung. Despite the view and quiet surrounding, you can get to the city centre by public transport within 45 minutes. If you come directly from Hong Kong International airport, it takes around 40 mins to 1.5 hours depending which transportation you take. 50 mins to Hong Kong Island. If you take taxi, 30 minutes will get you everywhere in the city center or Hong Kong side.

On the other side, you can go to the famous Sai Kung town centre within 20 minutes and enjoy fresh from the sea seafood. (You can buy directly from the fishing boats at the pier then take to nearby restaurant for cooking). Sai Kung is also famous and popular for its hiking trails and camp sites. I would highly recommend you spending a few hours walking in sunshine with sea breeze in Sai Kung town centre. You would certainly love it.

The house has 2 rooms. The price is for 1 bedroom with en suite bathroom. The bed is a comfortable double bed for 2 persons. The other one I use as walk in closet which can turn into a small bedroom with fold-able mattress for 1 person. I shall stay in this small bedroom. There is a spacious sitting room with dining area and another toilet with shower. Kitchen and balcony completes the place. We shall share facilities. The house is very bright and sunny as there are windows around all walls. It is very enjoyable and nice to sit on the balcony having breakfast or afternoon tea or a beer in front of the 180 degree sea view. Just imagine......

Bed and linen can be provided. Blankets are available. You can use the kitchen and washing machine. Detail instruction to and from the city and Lonely Planet guide book about Hong Kong will be provided. Please bring your own towels though.

I accept clean and tidy person only. Non-smoker is preferred.

I personally love my home. You can see in the photo a lot of personal touch which I bought back from different parts of the world. I shall try my best to make your stay as pleasant and memorable as possible.

  • Phoenix is a perfect host. She is so smart and friendly. The flat is really "cosy & nice". You can hear the wave at night, look directly at the bay from the balcony. That is a very different facet of Hong Kong.

  • Phoenix is a wonderful hostess! She provided answers to all questions and went out of her way to make my stay a comfortable and memorable one! Her apartment is lovely, immaculately clean and well located to explore both HK island and Sai Kung area. Just lovely! Thanks Phoenix for a wonderful stay and sharing your local knowledge and restaurants with me.

  • We spent some lovely time in Phoenix home, the place is cosy and perfectly located, we particularly appreciated the lovely view on Sai Kung bay from the terrace. Even though we did not shared a lot of time together (we were pretty busy) we really appreciated Phoenix presence and attention. We will for sure come back some days and recommend this place to our friends. @Phoenix: hope to meet you in France for Christmas.

  • Phoenix is a wonderful host. She provided us with excellent directions to find her lovely home and kindly went out to dinner with us on the first night to one of her favourite local Chinese eateries and again to another restaurant in the city after we had moved on, giving us wonderful, authentic eating experiences. Her home was spotlessly clean and our room and ensuite were extremely comfortable. Cola, the dog, was a joy. As for the Sai Kung area, it is beautiful. We did some hiking and got into some remote areas. Loved the tranquility. Sitting on Phoenix's verandah looking at her view is another true pleasure. Highly recommended if you want to see a different side of Hong Kong.

  • Phoenix is an excellent host. She made sure we had a pleasant stay at her place. We felt like home!
The location is perfect for a relaxing vacation It's a beautiful place with transquil setting right above a small beach. Have a cup of tea or coffee sitting in the living room, and enjoy the spectacular ocean view all day long! Listen to the sound of the ocean and the nature or have a quick dip at the beach. It's a paradise away from the bustling city!
There,s a short walk through the peaceful village to the bus stop. But you can always call for a taxi. Everything is relatively convenient. Supermarket, restaurants, and the Sai Kung town center are all a short bus ride.
We loved all the outdoor activities in the saikung area, such as Snorkeling, kayaking and hiking. Also, we enjoyed all the yummy food and shopping at the saikung town center. Buying seafood from the boats at the pier was fun too!
Going to the central areas of the city is about 45 minutes by bus and MRT. The buses come very frequently even late at night....
We enjoyed our stay very much!
    Thanks Phoenix!

  • Phoenix was an absolutely great hostess. Her house is away from the noise and craziness of the town tucked away in the greens of Sai Kung. Although we stayed there during a wet spell and could not go out to the beaches it was a pleasant stay nevertheless. Phoenix took us out for an awesome Chinese meal one night and we wish we could have spent more time with her. Will stay there again when I am back in HK for sure. Highly recommended place to stay cause of its spelndid bay view from the house, cleaniness and a great host in Phoenix. Also her dog Cola is a great companion.

  • Recommended! The only bad thing was having to leave Phoenix, Cola the pup, and the beautiful cosy and nice views!

  • Stayed a total of 3 nights and would highly recommend Phoenix's apartment in sai kung. It had a gorgeous view of the lagoon right from her living room, was perfectly clean and very well equipped. Phoenix was a great host and saw to a smooth check-in and out even though she was out of the country, was contactable at all times. Abt 10-12 mins walk to the main road where there are ample buses or cab options to sai kung town.

I love to travel and experience local culture, not just average tourist things. Meeting local people and even staying at 'homes', not hotel is such marvelous idea. Because I become tired of chain hotel, where everywhere is more or less the same. I like uniqueness, special things to make life more interesting and colorful. I also like dancing (at present, Argentine Tango), swimming, shopping, sailing and diving. If you share similar interests, it would be lovely for me to show you and do it together. Safety is a great concern for me despite I am willing to try different things. If I feel safe, I am easy-going, very considerate, kind and generous. I can't stand dirty & messy environment. Snake is the most frightened animal for me. I hate mean people too. I love nature and try to respect it. I often traveled alone. If I have other choice of transportation, I should definitely avoid aeroplanes. I would highly appreciate your introduction of yourself, telling me your purpose to Hong Kong, expectation, like and dislike so that I can easily decide to accept you or not. Most important of all, please make me feel safe and comfortable letting you stay in my house. Oh! No last minute booking please!
