Cosy house located no more than 10 minutes from the Juan Santamaría International Airport airport and 5 minutes walking from Alajuela downtown.
Thanks for being interested in our house :)
Our house is big enough to host up to 2 persons quite easily, this is a family house in which some of the spaces like the kitchen will have to be shared at some times.
We have one small private room with a single bed, fan, mirror, armoire, night desk, lamp, linens, sheets and towels.
Perfect for a traveler that wants to sleep peacefully and in comfort.
The house is located aproximately 10 minutes away from the airport by car and 25 minutes by bus.
Also is easy to get to the following places:
-ATMs / Banks
- Restaurants / Bars
- Yoga classes
- Dancing Classes
The guest will be able to use the laundry room if necessary for a small amount.
Interaction with Guests
We have already host travelers in our house before, so far has been an awesome experience in which we got the chance to meet amazing persons and new cultures.
We speak Spanish, English and Portuguese; so we hope facilitates our communication with you in case that you have any doubts or just want to have a chat.
The neighborhood is very quiet and safe; you will be able to go to nearby convenience stores, pharmacies, atms without any hassle.
You can get to the house from the airport easily by bus, in which you will have to drop off at some point and just walk 300 mts.
To get to San José from the house, you only walk 5 minutes and then take a bus that shouldn’t last more than 30 minutes.
Other Things to Note
We have a very friendly dog that we keep outside when we have a guest staying in our house.
We hope the guests behave their self and have respect for all the family members personal space and belongings.
1) Innapropiate behavior wont be tolerated
Nice house, clean bedroom, difficult to find but I took a taxi from another town so he was unfamiliar with the neighborhood so I think a neighborhood taxi would have been able to find it more easily.
its a nice and safe house...right next to the center, easy by foot.
fransisco wasn t here when i arrive cause my plane had a big delay but his mother welcome very nicely and show me the room and i had a big place in the house...the day after we drove to visit the volcano and had local food in a good place...

i will recommand this place to anyone that arrive or leave costa rica and want to be in a good place near the town and the airport
My tour leader contacted Francisco to co-ordinate my arrival and Francisco's mother was there to welcome me. Unfortunately I speak no Spanish and she very little English so communication was difficult. Francisco was not there at all but I did talk to him on the phone. The room felt more cell like than it appeared in the picture. The overhead light did not work so I got a small desk lamp. There is a fan in the room. The mattress leaves a lot to be desired but the place was close to the airport which served my purpose. His mother was kind enough to get up before 6AM to call a taxi for me.
I had a great time at Francisco's. He and his mother were very welcoming and invited me to join them for lunch at a local sushi restaurant when I arrived. The house is very nice and the room is small, but private as it's on a different floor to the hosts' bedrooms. It's a short trip to the airport either by bus+walk or by taxi.
This house was very nice, and Francisco and his mother are extremely hospitable! Highly recommended!
We primarily picked this location because it was close to the airport - it was the last stop of our trip in CR. We were made to feel at home by Francisco, Margerie, the mother, and his sister, Fabiola. We only stayed two days but really got to explore downtown Alajuela. Be sure to check out the Cevichera just down the street - the ceviche is world-class and it's just a few bucks! We'll be on the look-out for "chifrijo" the next time we visit CR - it's supposedly really tasty but you have to know where to look. We went on a where's-waldo-like-hunt for it but ran out of time...
Francisco's house is very clean and his family is very friendly. I had a lovely conversation with his mom, Margerie, in Spanish. The location is perfect if you rented a car from Thrifty because the business is literally 5 minutes away.
Wifi at Francisco's was probably the best we experienced while in CR.
We met with Francisco's mom b/c he himself was working. She is a lovely lady and a great hosetess. We arrived quite late & wanted to go out for dinner & making sure we wouldn't get lost, she even went to the restaurant with us. We asked her for an inexpensive place with nice food & boy did she deliver! :-) And when the credit card machine wasn't working she even drove us into town to get money at the bank. Really lovely lady.
The room & everything was very much to our liking. Nice bed and everything. Great place to stay.
