[NOTE ~ Shower issues have been resolved and we have great water pressure that is piping hot!]
Large, sunny three-level apartment that easily sleeps four with Central Park just steps away! World famous gourmet food markets and high end shopping around the corner. Best cinema in city two blocks away (often hosts red carpet premieres). Two blocks from the West 72nd St. subway station which is a major hub on the 1/2/3 lines. Horse and carriages, pedicabs, finest reviewed restaurants--all within walking distance!
Beautiful, outrageously sunny, three-level studio (which could probably be billed as a one bedroom) in the heart of Manhattan's Upper West Side. The apartment has a large, south-facing picture window in full sun all day overlooking our charming street which is very quiet at night. The apartment has a fully equipped eat-in kitchen.
The unit is a 4th story walk-up with no doorman, in a lovely little townhouse. It is a full-time rental by owners that live in our friendly, family-oriented building. The apartment was fully renovated about five years ago and is quite nice. The kitchen appliances are modern.
The apartment has a queen bed (purchased new, with new mattress in December, 2011) in the bedroom and a trundle bed with two twins in the living room. It will easily sleep four, but enjoyably spacious for one or two! We make sure the apartment is professionally cleaned and fully stocked for each new guest.
This is a family apartment/perfect for singles/families/couples who are tourists by day and looking for a quiet respite from the city at night.
DEPOSIT: Sound carries in this apartment and we ask that guests observe House Rules. We will consider not refunding part or all of a security deposit if guests below or next to this unit are woken up by voices, loud movements or lots of footsteps after 11pm. There is no "hanging out" in front of the building at any time. If you are coming to New York for the nightlife, this is probably not the apartment for you, and we encourage you to look at other listings. We want all of our guests to have a great experience in NYC--including you! Thanks!

This apartment was cozy, clean, quiet and had just the right amount of amenities. The location could also not be beat. For us, (mom and teenaged daughter), it was also nice to have the sleeping areas on separate levels to give us a little space from each other.
We stayed in Ted's apartment for a week over our spring break. The apartment was just as described and a perfect place for our family of four to have as a home base. My kids loved having their "own" beds (instead of having to share) and my husband and I liked having a separate space. The apartment was clean, spacious (esp for Manhattan) and surprisingly quiet for such a big city and being across from a school! We had no trouble with noise and there are fans in case you are super sensitive and need some white noise. The apartment location was ideal - just 2 blocks from a great subway stop and a few more from Central Park. We could also walk to great restaurants, shopping and even Trader Joes! (although this Trader Joes is the busiest in the country & crazy crowded :) We couldn't have been happier with this apartment and everyone we met was so kind and helpful - Kari Jo, Karen, Ted (and his wife) - we would stay here again in a heartbeat and would recommend it to friends. Thank you!
We had a great stay at Ted's apartment. It was up to our expectations and the description done. This loft apartment (in a brownstone building) was just perfect for the three of us: nice and quiet neighborhood, near Central Park and the Met, a few steps from 72nd St subway station, grocery stores and cafés nearby. We spent 10 amazing days in NYC and Ted’s apartment was a big contribution to it. We could not have asked for a better first time Airbnb experience and we would definitively like to stay in Ted’s apartment when we return to NYC. Everyone in the building was very nice and welcoming. Thanks to all of you for making our visit a memorable one.
Ted was a great host! We loved this apartment and its location, which was the perfect base for all that we did -- Upper West Side, Broadway, even museums on the Upper East Side. What a great neighborhood! We could walk everywhere and then come home to our "own" little piece of NYC. We drove in, and the garage across the street was reasonable by New York standards as well.
Very pleasant loft apartment in a good neighborhood. There are a lot of eating choices within walking distance. The subway station is just down the street and there are plenty of taxis available. We were allowed to store our luggage before and after our check-in/check out. The managers are responsive to requests and comments. The water pressure was a bit weak and there was a dripping noise following a rainfall during the first night. It is an old building! We would consider staying here again.
Great location, is really close to the subway (Best way of transportation in NYC).
I would recommend this apartment to everyone. Nice and tidy. We had some problems with the shower the first day but Ted was really quick and resolve the problem the same day!
We had a lovely stay in this apartment, the location was very convenient especially for a short stay, when you want to be in the middle of everything. Subway and restaurants are within 200 metres, Central park was very near and Times square&Broadway theatres within walkable distance if you don't want to use subway all the time. The size of the apartment was very good for 3 people.
The only minus was the shower, which was lukewarm at its best and had quite low pressure.
