My husband and I were looking for a mini weekend escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and came across this beautiful property. It was our first time using airbnb and coordinating with Melanie was very easy and seamless. Even though we were arriving late, she made sure everything was already prepared for our arrival. The room we stayed in was everything we were looking for; it was lovely, cozy, clean & comfortable and the view itself was just breathtaking. I wish I could wake up to that view everyday. Melanie also left out fresh fruit, croissants, jam and coffee for us to eat the next morning. Cooperstown was a short 15-20 minute drive away, but we were looking to stay somewhere more isolated. Staying here made us feel like we were home. We met Melanie and her husband the day we were leaving and they were such a lovely couple. We hope to return soon and for a longer period! Thanks again!
What a delightful gem! A rare find - gorgeous setting, totally private, and a most gracious hostess! A great adaptation of a b&b with small personal touches and breakfast baked goods, fresh jam and coffee for the morning. Melanie was friendly and warm and gave great area recommendations. Only a 20 minute drive to Cooperstown! I highly recommend this to anyone visiting the area!
We had a great stay here. The rooms were spacious and clean. Melanie (the host) was helpful and easy to get in contact for questions during our stay. Our favorite part of the place was the view! It's even prettier in person than the pictures on the website. There's chairs and a private patio to sit and enjoy the view. We picked this room since it was close to cooperstown (less than 30 minute ride... And the drive along the lake was simply beautiful). I'll recommend this room to friends traveling in the area.
Retired from many years as a flight attendant for a major airline and then as an innkeeper of my own B&B, now newly married. My husband & I are wonderful travelers. We love to stay in shape....walking on our country trails and a ton of golf for the man at our local 5- Star course called 'Leatherstocking'.
My way of hosting means creating a space that I would like to stay in....welcoming, convenient, spotless and comfortable! And the better the view, the better I like it!
We've used airbnb ourselves many times since it was new and made some wonderful friends along the way.
