About This Listing
The apartment is in a traditional canal house along one of the main canals, overlooking the Prinsengracht and Brouwersgracht. It's part of a building-block which is an iconic image of the city, often featured prominently on postcards.
The apartment is attractively designed with rooms on various levels, wooden floors, a fireplace and an exposed beam ceiling in the living room.
Summarised the apartment comprises a living room, a kitchen with dining, two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a terrace.
The living room is rather big with a seating around the fireplace, a desk and a piano. The room has three big windows overlooking the Prinsengracht and the Brouwersgracht, Amsterdam at its best!
The kitchen with exposed brick wall is fully equipped and has a dining table. It gives entrance to the terrace that is nicely designed with plants, trees and a seating.
There is one bedroom with a king-size bed (220*180) and a comfortable bathroom with bath, separate shower and second toilet. The spare bedroom has more or less a bedstead for 2 persons (200*140) and an attached shower with sink.
As said, my apartment is situated along one of the main canals of Amsterdam, in a neighbourhood called the Jordaan. The Jordaan is undoubtedly the most sung about, described and romanced town district of the Netherlands.
The Jordaan is home to many art galleries and dotted with speciality shops and restaurants. Markets are held regularly at Noordermarkt, the Westerstraat and Lindengracht, all just around the corner! The Anne Frank House, where Anne Frank went into hiding during World War II, is located on walking distance, at the same canal as my apartment.

AAA for Edward and his Prinsengracht apartment!
Edward is a perfect host! Although we arrived late, he welcomed us with a smile on his face, a bottle of wine, fresh fruit and organic bread for breakfast. He shortly explained us how everything worked and gave us valuable tips for the area. All our communications were always prompt, uncomplicated and very kind.
Now let’s talk about Edward’s home: we never stayed at a more pleasant place in Amsterdam before. The apartment is amazing! The diningroom and lounge with their iconic furniture and beautiful artworks are a pure pleasure for a design-enthusiast, but they are nevertheless easygoing and comfortable. It is a wonderful place to be, relax and watch the busy life of the Prinsengracht. In the back of the house, cosy and quiet, with a view on the garden-terrace, are the bedroom and the ensuite bathroom.
Last but not least, the location is great. The Jordaan area is overflowing with nice bars and excellent restaurants. The markets on the nearby squares are worth a visit, the main station is close and museums, as well as the shopping area, are reachable in a beautiful walk (or bicycle ride) along the Grachten.
We were sad to leave and hope to be welcomed by Edward again next time we come to Amsterdam. Thanks for this wonderful Airbnb-experience, Edward!
Edward's apartment really made our trip to Amsterdam. The apartment looks exactly the same in person as it does in the photos, and it was a beautiful place to wake up every morning. Edward left fresh fruit and other food essentials for us, which was greatly appreciated! The location is incredible - exactly where we wanted to be - the picturesque Amsterdam canal location. Thanks so much Edward for such a wonderful Dutch experience!
We loved this superb apartment and location. It. Was a joy to stay here - characterful old canal house, very tasteful, mod cons, clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the great view out of the huge lounge windows overlooking the canal and bridge.
Edward was most welcoming, kind, friendly and helpful throughout.
The location was beautiful and our favorite area. Easy 10 min walk to station. Plenty of nice little places to eat, drink or have coffee.
Excellent choice. Made our stay very special.
We loved our experience at Edward's place. Perfect location. Perfect, warm, clean and comfortable flat. We felt just like at home!
We had a charming stay at Edward's canal house apartment on the Prinsengracht. The interior of the apartment is worth noting. Every object and placement of the apartment is exquisitely chosen with care. Yet it was accessible for our family and young daughter - who found the second bedroom ideal for burrowing in for a long nap or late sleep. The apartment is as centraal as you can get on the Prinsengracht - meaning close to nightlife and wonderful cafes - but also ideal for families who want a weekend visit with long strolls through the Noordemarkt. Thanks Edward for making your home available - we'd give you six stars if we could.
