What could I say about John and his private room ? Nothing of wrong ... very close from Manhattan by subway, and 1 hour by walk on Queensboroobridge ... so many place to find food, restaurants, bars ... John gave me his personnal bedroom , a large one with 2 windows, kitchen completely filled, everything was available to use ... what's a pity that the other people using the two others rooms doesn't clean at all the waterroom ... John was a great personn, always ready to help you for finding everything, and really present as soon as you call him... Thank you again for this nice private room ... Best regards ... Didier
John organized it very easy for me to get the keys. So his friend came to Penn Station, where I arrived, and gave me the keys. His friend was super kind and seemed to be a great person. He also offered me his help, whenever I needed and I felt like, he was serious about it and not just polite. ;)
After I arrived at the House, which is about 8-10 minutes to walk from the subway station Steinway Street (Astoria, Queens), I found my room very easily, because he put a sign for me on the right door.
The room itself was good for what I needed - a quiet and safe place to sleep.
The only thing I did not like was the dirty bathroom, but I have to say that I don t know, who of the three roommates was responsible for that. ;) All in all, it was okay and for the price I won't complain.
I did not meet John personally, but per texting he always helped me quick with questions before booking or even when I asked for a nice place to go out while I was there.
There is a street very close to the Apartment, where it is nice to go out. I mean, it is Astoria and not Uptown, but I anyway prefer smaller individual bars. BEST THING: The little Italian bakery on the way to the Subway station. SO good and SO cheap.
Can just recommend that.
John seemed to be considerate and helpful, so if you have questions, just ask him.
A Cab from the Subway station was 7$ in case you'd need it.
John- thank you for having me. :) Happy new year!
