Explore beautiful Nantucket Island while staying aboard a classic yacht. Roshika is located on a private mooring in the Nantucket Harbor -go for a swim, relax on deck, take in amazing sunsets from the cockpit and enjoy easy access to downtown.
Roshika provides an opportunity to enjoy the island of Nantucket while staying aboard a 36' classic sailboat.
Built in 1953, she has a wonderful interior with lots of varnished mahogany and full standing headroom throughout the vessel. Forward (or in the bow) you will find the V-birth, that sleeps two comfortably and has access to the head (bathroom).
The middle section of the boat (the main salon) contains another full birth that can sleep one on the starboard side and a second (though shorter) birth to port.
Other amenities include, a well insulated ice box, CD/ iPod compatible stereo, life jackets, DC cell phone charging station, reading lights and two brass oil lanterns that create a beautiful warm light throughout the cabin. There is a sun shower on board, but guest are welcomed/ encouraged to use the well maintained public showering facilities located on the docks.
Access to town is via the Nantucket Harbor launch which runs regularly from 7:00 am to midnight for a fee of $5.00 a person, plus tip per ride.
A truly unique Island experience!
to one of the prettiest harbor around.
Interaction with Guests
I have been a yacht Captain for over 10 years and I live/work on the Island. I am on the water everyday and will be available to address/assist with any questions or concerns.
The Nantucket Harbor Launch runs daily providing easy access to and from the boat. Just call them on the boat's VHF radio - Channel 68. Please note that the launch charges a fee of $5.00 per person each way, plus tip.
Other Things to Note
I will accompany you to the boat and walk you through the necessary procedures to make your stay as comfortable as possible. However, before booking please consider that this experience is not like your typical rental. Its is a boat out on the harbor and subject to the elements -if you are not comfortable on boats and/or generally don't enjoy camping this might not be for you.
The boat CAN NOT be moved from the mooring.
They stay on Chad's boat was amazing. Both in terms of the classic beauty of the boat and its location in the harbor, but also because of the level of detail and professionalism that Chad brings to hosting guests on the boat. As an example, we were staying on the boat later in the year because of extremely nice weather, and because of this, the water taxi service was no longer running. My wife and I were celebrating our first wedding anniversary and Chad really (really) went out of way to help us get back and forth from the boat a few times in order to meet our dinner reservations and enjoy Nantucket. Again - thank you so much Chad! If the boat is available next year for reservations, do yourself a favor and book now - a totally unique AirBnB experience.
Chad was a very accommodating and informative host. He was incredibly dependable when I needed to be transported to and from the boat, regardless of the time of day. Additionally, Chad takes into consideration any changes in weather to ensure the host is comfortable. Such consideration was evidenced in his willingness to lend a sleeping bag during a cold front and a rain jacket for the unpredictable New England weather.
The ship was beautiful and meticulously maintained. Additionally, upon first boarding the boat, Chad gave a very detailed tour of the cabin. As a result, I was able to find everything I needed while on board.
I highly recommend staying on Chad's boat. He goes above and beyond to make the host's stay on Nantucket an enjoyable one.
Our stay on lovely Roshika was wonderful!!! We have been to Nantucket several times, but the experience we had on the boat was more interesting, romantic and so beautiful. Many people told us September is the best month, and they are right....perfect weather and less people. We saw sunrises and sunsets, jumped off the boat into the harbor, talked to other boaters and harbor staff and enjoyed Chads taste in books and music. Chad was an impeccable host, very responsive to us when something on the boat needed a slight repair. Although it may not be for everyone, we would highly recommend staying on Roshika, you'll never forget it.
What a perfect place to stay on Nantucket! Boat was beautifully kept and convenient in the harbor. Chad had all the necessary instructions regarding the boat on arrival. Perfect launching point to explore the island with all the charm and without the cost of other locations.
The Boat was great, The Host was great, and The Island was awesome. We had an excellent time in Nantucket on the sailboat. Chad was very friendly and helpful. I did not met Chad himself, but we communicated through emails the day of the trip. I cant wait to return next summer.
Chad was a great host and very responsive to any questions we had during our stay. My wife and I are experienced sailors and truly enjoyed living aboard this classic vessel for a week. We come to Nantucket every year, but this is our first time experiencing it from the harbor. We met several other boaters which is always fun.
This boat was the highlight of our trip! Getting used to the rocking motion took some time and its not huge inside so you couldn't fit more than two adults comfortably but it's so fun! The best deal for a place on the island, easy to get to and from on the harbor launch (which can take up to 20 mins to arrive so be prepared to wait or call ahead while you get ready). It's more like a camping experience than a hotel so if you're feeling adventurous this is the place for you! We brought our 4 year old son and he loved "playing captain". Chad is super nice and helpful too. We would stay here again for sure!
