Description

The Space

Beautiful, chic studio apartment in the stylish Marais area of Paris - recently renovated!

On the top floor or an old Parisian building, overlooking a calm and quiet courtyard and rooftops of the Marais, you will find my little Marais nest waiting to welcome you.

The apartment is a studio and measures 17m2/ 200 sq ft. It has a great layout so it feels quite spacious. The apartment is on the 4th floor (European), and there is no elevator (so keep this in mind if you do not like walking up stairs!). On the other hand, this will help you burn off all of that wine, cheese and chocolate mousse.

You walk in and there is a little hallway, the bathroom is on the right, and then it opens into the main room, which has plenty of storage space (there are cupboards/shelves designed by a Scandinavian architect), a cute kitchen tucked away behind cabinets, the pull out couch, table and chairs, etc.

The apartment has lots of light thanks to three very large windows, which overlook a quiet courtyard. It is equipped with a microwave, toaster oven, cable TV with a few English stations (CNN and BBC), Wifi, free phone to landlines, coffee/tea, hair dryer -- everything you need! And if there is anything not there that you need, just let me know.

I recently replaced all of the pillows, towels, linens, etc. so that things feel fresh and new for your stay. There are toiletries (soap, toilet paper) and food staples (olive oil, salt, sugar, tea, coffee) ready for you when you arrive so that you do not need to worry about shopping. There might even be a surprise welcome gift waiting for you...

I lived in this apartment for over a year and absolutely loved every minute of it! I was always so happy to get back to my little nest in the Marais. I actually miss living there sometimes (but am now married to a French man, and we have two children so we needed more room). You sleep on a very comfortable pull out couch - every bit as good as a bed, believe me. My husband is 193cms / 6'3'', and he was fine on the pull out bed.

The studio is like a cozy little nest looking over the rooftops! It's really a charming place. People love staying here, and I hope you do, too!

For check in / check out times, I have put 1pm check in and 10am check out. If there are no other guests coming in or out the days you arrive / leave, then these times are more flexible.

Please contact me for more info and testimonials from past guests. Happy to help any way that I can.

Hope to welcome you to my studio in the Marais!

Best,
Christine

Guest Access

Guests have access to the entire apartment.

Interaction with Guests

I interact with guests over e-mail and telephone and usually have my agent meet people on arrival. With a four year old, 16 month old, and another on the way (!), it is too busy for me to come meet the guests in person. But I am happy to communicate as much/little via e-mail and telephone as the guest(s) would like.

The Neighborhood

The Marais is one of the greatest neighborhoods in Paris with cool stylish boutiques, cafes, restaurants, etc. I fell in love with the Marais over many visits to Paris.

My apartment in the Marais has the best location. Really! It is so close to the metro, to the Seine, to all of the cafes and shops. If there is one thing everyone agrees on when they rent my place, it is that the location could not be better.

You can spend hours sitting in a cafe watching people go by or browsing the shops. And it's important to note that the Marais shops are open on Sunday - one of the only areas of Paris where you can shop on Sundays.

I am happy to give advice on my favorite boulangeries (bakeries), restaurants and shops.

There is also a supermarket about 100 feet from the apartment as well as a laundromat.

Getting Around

The metro line 1 is a 5 minute walk from the apartment. Couldn't be easier!

Other Things to Note

Close to the Seine, the metro, shops, restaurants, really in the heart of it all!
