About This Listing
The 525 sq ft guest apt is set back on one acre of quiet, lush desert with indigenous wildlife and starry nights and is located on the first floor of our two story home. This fully furnished one bedroom apt has one queen bed and a full bath. If you have a child or third guest we have a futon like bed available upon request. We clean with eco-friendly products and water is filtered through the whole house. The kitchenette has a gas stove/oven, fridge, pans, dishes and cutlery. The cupboards are stocked with essentials like spices, oil, honey tea and coffee. The small living room has two recliner chairs and a cable TV/DVD. There is a private sun room (porch) with a patio table. A grill and picnic table are available for your enjoyment. Uncovered parking, shared laundry and Wifi access are included. For clarity; my family lives in the 2nd story and the guest apt for rent is located on the first floor and west side of the house. It has it's own entrance and is private. Although we are in a rural, quiet setting there will be some upstairs family noises because this is not a separate guest house.
Children are welcome. Please no pets and no smoking.
Our home based business, Still Waters Float Spa, offering r.e.s.t. (reduced environmental stimulus therapy) is available to our guests at special rates. Optionally guests might occasionally listen to live folk/rock/country music here or even jam with Dan in his music studio.
This rural retreat is located 5 minutes to a grocery/shopping center, 10 min. to hiking trials, 15 min. to the University of Arizona and 20 min. to the Sonoran Desert Museum.
Your hosts, Dan and Teresa, are long time Tucson residents and are happy to share their knowledge of the desert, the southwest's attractions and seasonal festivals.
Please use utilities like electric and water reasonably. Loud music and Tv after 11:00pm is not appreciated. Long term guests are responsible for taking their garbage and recycling out to the large outdoor cans for weekly pickup.
I had a great stay in Tucson at Teresa's lovely guest apartment. It's a beautifully furnished space in a lovely, quiet setting. Every possible amenity was provided, and Dan and Teresa were very gracious. I had a late arrival which they graciously accommodated. Highly recommended- very convenient to the University by car, with plenty of stores and restaurants nearby. Lovely place, lovely people!!
This place was beautiful! Quiet neighborhood. They had everything I needed and Teresa was very accommodating with my schedule. Perfect relaxing getaway spot while I was in town. I would definitely stay here again.
Teresa went out of her way to make us comfortable and relaxed. The apartment was cozy and pretty with lovely colors and decorator touches. It is very conveniently located to many sights and hikes. It is a very private space but when we had a question or needed something, Teresa always able to help us.
Teresa and Dan were wonderful hosts, and the apartment was a little gem. The suite was nicely stocked with kitchen implements and quite comfortable. The best aspect of their place however was getting up and essentially walking out into the desert terrain, with mountains in the background. Quite a sight. Just what we were looking for. Would definitely give it highest recommendation, and we will return. Dan and Teresa were available and a pleasure to talk with.
Dan met us upon our arrival. It was clean and ready for our arrival. Teresa added many welcome personal touches to the accommodations. There was butter and condiments in the refrigerator, spices and honey in the cupboard, a variety of teas, coffee, along with fresh fruit and snacks. We cooked breakfast every morning and found that the kitchen had everything we needed. The bathroom was adequately supplied with towels and the queen size bed was comfortable. The pictures accurately describe this gem. It's the cutest little place and we loved it! We felt right at home. It had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Overall, it is a quiet place of rest off the beaten (email hidden)e best part is you can walk out the front door and be surrounded by the beautiful Tucson desert! We would highly recommend this quiet place of rest.
Our hosts, Teresa and Dan Oved, made us feel welcome and comfortable. Set, in a beautiful atmosphere of majestic, Saugro cacti, there are scenic trails, to explore. While walking, or relaxing, one can feel the calm and serenity.
The house is furnished with great stylish wood furniture. The walls have warmth and are very inviting. All the comforts of home are available.
I would highly recommend, staying here and experiencing, a quiet, rewarding, relaxing, weekend vacation.
As soon as you will walk through the door, you will embrace the beauty of this beautiful, desert land!!!
We were very comfortable at Teresa's guest house. We really enjoyed having a place to stay away from busy roads (yet also convenient to town). It had everything we needed. Beds are super comfortable!! Teresa and family were very welcoming, yet we had our own space.
About the Host, Teresa
I enjoy exploring the road less traveled, both inner and outer worlds. Tucson has been my home since 1983. I've studied, worked and played in the fields of archaeology, art and music. Ha ha ;-) and then came the kids! For 8 years we home schooled our boys, though they are now in college and Waldorf school. I've encouraged people to cultivate a healthy and mindful lifestyle for many years through teaching yoga classes, my float business and through hosting guests in our airbnb apt.
My husband, Dan, came to Tucson from New York City in "78 on a lark with a friend, he loved the desert and so adopted Tucson as his new home. Dan has a math/sociology degree but in his heart he is a singer of western folk music. I think he's a clever songwriter! His band is called The Blue Prairie Dogs.
As a family, we're lovers of new building projects, music, nature and we care for 2 friendly dogs. We tend to lead a healthy lifestyle, munching organic foods, mindful TV viewing, etc, but we are relaxed about it. Yeah, you know the type ;-) Peace and Grins!
