We all work, but usually there is someone at home. We are happy to converse over a cuppa and will provide information on local attractions and facilities.
We are in a very quiet area but so close to all the action! Burleigh beach is world renowned with its national park, great restaurants, bars and boutique shops. The lake is great for fishing, or enjoy watching the variety of bird life from the patio.
On our street corner there is a children's play ground, basket ball court and park, plus a good coffee shop that does weekend breakfasts and sells some essentials.
HOW TO GET from Brisbane AIRPORT
AIRTRAIN is directly outside terminal. At a cost of about $38 this will bring you to VARSITY station. Bus route 765 will bring you to Burleigh, from there it is a short walk down Burleigh Street to us. We can arrange to pick you up from there if convenient.
The local bus is 100 metre walk on our corner and will take you to major shopping centres and Bond university. It runs every hour.
A more frequent service runs along the highway, a 15 minute walk /1 kilometre distance, and will take you to all major attractions
FROM GOLD COAST AIRPORT -
TAXI costs about $35.
CON X ION bus can be pre arranged on Internet or at airport. I think it costs about $25 per person and will take you direct to our door.
If you are wanting cheaper route and don't mind a bit of a walk the local bus can be found outside terminal. Route 777 will take you directly to Burleigh Heads and costs $7.40 per person.. Ask the driver to let you off at SECOND AVENUE. From here it is a 15 minute walk - go down the ramp, cross the road and walk down ACANTHUS STREET until you reach SANDPIPER ST, follow through to the end, then you will cross over BURLEIGH ST and see our lake from the park. Walk to your right and you will see our street.
If you are staying a few days and will be using public transport I would suggest purchasing a GO CARD for cheaper fares.
We have bicycles for guests to use for a small hire fee.

Amanda and Phil were both really friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and orderly, nice breakfast in the morning- no concerns at all, I definitely recommend Amanda and phil as hosts and was very pleased with my stay
Amanda & Phil were great! Very welcoming and incredibly friendly, they were always keen to make sure I had everything I needed. The room was spacious and the bed was comfy. The house was clean and the views did not disappoint.
Thanks, look forward to staying again sometime!
Such a clean and wonderful place.
Hosts were super hospitable.
Absolutely loved it.
Amanda and Phil are wonderful people to stay with and I felt like one of the family - home from home! We had lots of conversations and laughs but you also have plenty of privacy if you wish and your own TV lounge! The house is great with an amazing view right on the lake and only a 15 minute walk to James Street with a further 5 to Burleigh Beach. It's very easy to get around with plenty of buses running nearby. My room had a very comfortable and cosy single bed and was quite spacious and I highly recommend staying with Amanda and Phil.
Excellent location, nice property, beautiful view to the lake.
The description is spot on, no surprises. Bed is good, shower is great. Amanda & Phil are great hosts, helpful, warm and carrying, they totally make you feel at home. We had great chats about many topics, really enjoyable. Clary (the dog) is wonderful too and had a great time playing "ball" with her.
Thank you again Amanda and Phil. It was a great pleasure to stay at you home hope to see you again! all the best!

About the Host, Amanda
We are a friendly couple who like to spend our time around our home and neighbourhood, reading, watching movies, computer, listening to music and walk the dog. My hubby Phil and I often go for a ride on our bicycles along the beach paths. I work a couple of evenings each week as an assistant nurse in aged care. Phil works maintenance in the same place.
We have previously hosted international students and has been a good experience.
We have travelled to Europe, Malaysia and America and hope to go again, so many other places we would love to see.
When you stay with us you will find we are very approachable, happy to give advice on where to go and how to get there. The house is big enough to have some privacy if you prefer, but we would like you to feel comfortable to use all the amenities freely.
