About This Listing
On a separate floor from my room, with your own little bathroom. Slumber on the pillowy TempurPedic - you may never want to leave! Quiet nook in Hollywood - in the center of everything, yet peaceful & nature-filled. A cup of hot tea awaits you...
This sweet and centrally located home-share truly puts you in the middle of it all, while feeling like you're out in the countryside. Super convenient to the metro and busses; steps from Hollywood Blvd, and just a few blocks off Sunset Blvd, you'll be able to walk to all sorts of day-and-nightlife. Yet, you'll still have the convenience of having a space to lounge in, as well as the savings of being able to have meals at home.
Although quite spacious, the house has a 'cottage' like feel to it, with an arty/bohemian interior, a super comfy queen-size bed, fully equipped kitchen, washer & dryer...as well as a kitchy-cozy faux fireplace to gaze into in the evenings! If you're with more people or are traveling with a child, I have plenty of linens and blankets to make up an extra aerobed and/or the sofa. Please also see the picture of the incredible outside porch bed, which is often available at no extra charge.
Price includes all linens & bedding, pots, pans, dishes, high-speed internet, etc! A great home base to take in the sights and to get a *real* feel of Hollywood! Super ridiculously NICE!
• Please note that this is a SHARED HOUSE - not private... I live here full time, and will be in the house with you. I have a loft bedroom, upstairs. Because I record audio from home most weekdays, I have to keep the house quiet. For this reason, other than weekends, it is best for people who will not be home much during the day.
• Although there is no assigned parking space, off street parking can be arranged at a nearby (1 block), indoor guarded parking lot for $8-$20 flat, depending on the day.
• Please send me a message about availability and any other questions that you may have prior to making a reservation.
• Please note that we *only* accept reservations from guests with a clear profile picture *OF THEMSELVES*. This means *OF YOURSELF*...*not* your baby, your dog, nor a sunset taken on your last holiday! We prefer to see a picture of any persons that may be staying in our homes. I also encourage you to look over my profile and pictures as well. :)
• And lastly, please also keep in mind that most Airbnb hosts are regular people who also have regular jobs, families, etc., and that renting out our extra homes or apartments is not our main source of income. Therefore please be patient...I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Interaction with Guests
I can be Super Hostess Extraordinaire, recommending places around town & even inviting you to join me on my adventures. Or, I'm perfectly content to leave you to yourselves.
Hollywood is the epicenter of Los Angeles! so much food, music, culture & nightlife within walking distance. If you have a brief stay in town, I cannot recommend it more highly.
As a car-free denizen of Hollywood, I can safely say it couldn't be more convenient for getting around. There are loads of buses & the subway, as well as Lyft, Uber & Sidecar drivers aplenty. Let me know if you need codes for free rides!
If you are staying during the weekdays (M-F), I must stress that I record from home and my studio is not sound-proofed, so the cottage must be vacated or silent periodically throughout the day. If your party is more than one person, and you plan to be hanging around home during the weekdays, this may not be a match for you. (This does not pertain to the holiday season, when I travel!)
Kitchen use includes refrigerator space and use of any/all cookware and dishes.
We do not ask any extra cleaning fees, and it is not necessary to strip beds or wash linens, but guests *are* required to leave all dishes & other used kitchen wares, washed, dried and put away.
Thanks for your understanding both of the above rules!
Kitty on premises, so maybe not so good if you have allergies.
Host is a working actor but her hospitality was no act. I came to Hollywood to take a 3-day improv acting workshop, and to more generally soak up the Hollywood experience. Chimney not only made me comfortable in her home and the ease of logistics, but we had great conversations about what it is like to be a professional in Hollywood. She is quite an inspring woman, with dreams to move to South America soon. Making an aunthentic connection with my host just made the whole vacation all that much better.
Bliss! Sheer bliss! I had a magnificent stay in LA and having the Cat Ranch as a base was the foundation for a marvellous and magical experience. Chimney Sweep is a gracious and welcoming host and generously allows you to share her space demanding nothing more than the odd scratch and tickle. The bed is comfy, the location amazing and everything works just fine. I'll be back!
Comfy bedroom on the main floor in a very cool quiet house. Loved the cat, the hummingbirds at the feeder every morning, and the squirrel occasionally looking in, along with a great host who is very welcoming and informative. The house is a minute's walk to Hollywood Blvd. Will stay here again when I return to Hollywood!
This place has the BEST location for a short stay in Hollywood you could possibly hope for, just a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Hollywood Boulevard, but tucked away in a quieter residential street. Catherine is a warm, friendly and welcoming guest who introduced me to the experience of living in Hollywood, taking me to some fantastic movie screenings and restaurants and introducing me to her friends. Catherine is a very social person so you are sure to meet a lot of local friends. The two weeks I spent at her place were exactly what I was looking for, a perfect location and making a few new friends to get me settled in Los Angeles. I am sure our friendship will extend far beyond my stay, one day I hope to visit her orchard in Ecuador :)
if you want to see an angel just go on and stay with Catherine, and if you want to know what best location means ? go and stay there, it's not 5 stars or even 4 but you will feel it's your home.
Catherine's place was perfect for my stay. Right around the corner from central hollywood but really quiet location in her lovely cottage. She made me a delicious vegan burrito on arrival, and dragged me out to a singer-songwriter night and to her friend's place - both of which let me saw L.A. form an insiders' point of view. Catherine is a generous spirit! Have no hesitation staying with her - it'll be ace!
Cath is a great host, providing all the informations needed to find her house and explore LA. Her house is an awesome place, full established with everything a traveller could wish for - in addition, her house is beautifully decorated, she has a nice cat, friendly neighbours. Would recommend the place to everyone.

About the Host, Chimney
I am a working actress in Los Angeles, finding windows of opportunity for travel between gigs. Because I can not travel as often as I like, I invite the world into my home! I am a full-service hostess: from offering you a cup of tea in the morning, to suggesting fun, unusual things to do, and helping you find your way around this incredible city.
I am from Minneapolis, and am a dual US/Irish citizen, since my family is from Ireland. I speak some French and a tiny bit of Spanish - working on improving both! I am vegetarian, but I do not mind what you prepare/eat in my home.
My cat, Chimney Sweep, is the greatest. Even people who do not like cats seem to love her.
